  1. Except I think God knows a little more about the development of a brain than we ever will. Thanks for proving my point for me. What does any of this have to do with my original line of questioning, seriously? The answer to your question was simple and there was no point to prove.
  2. Not everyone is a shredder, myself included. :D I wouldn't mind being an uber fast shredder, but I'm pretty content with where I am with the instrument right now, after 5 years. I'll always keep learning, of course. You rule, mate. I had the absolute pleasure and privalege of seeing this man and his band play in Brisbane, Australia on Sunday, December 11th, 2005. Incredible. :) You have my envy. One for going/living in Australia, and another for seeing him live. If he every comes to Texas I am going to his show. Edit- And I will climax if he pays Ocean anywhere near as good as the one on my link. Yes, climax. Haha, I just about 'climaxed' during his huge 15-minute-ish solo. Boy, John Butler is one hell of a guitarist.

  4. Bill hicks does a rather hilarious piece on easter and 'jesus the bunny rabbit.' Religious people would probably get offended so I aint gonna post it. PM me if you want a link. Funny as.
  5. So you know more about the development of a kid's brain than the God who created him? Seriously, what does that have to do with my question? The age of our brains complete maturation is known, if I'm not mistaken, and the figure I gave was a rough recall. And the answer to your question is redundant. Anyone would know if there was a god he'd know more about the maturation of our brains than me, mate.
  6. Run!! he's here again!! Let people believe what they want. You can believe your evoloutionary theory, other people can believe their bible-ly stuff. Accepting evolutionary theory isn't a belief. Alligning evolution and creation in the same scentance with the joining word 'belief' is just a mockery of the credentials of science. Yes, we should let people believe what they want but it does not take belief to accept evolution as true. Atheist, officially don't belong to any religion. What about humanism or materialsm? You can call those religions. Sorry, not religions. Philosophies on life, ways of thinking, sure. They don't require any kind of faith in any kind of god. You're probably thinking 'but what about buddhism' at the moment too. It has it's spiritual and supernatural sides, but in my opinion is far removed from them and much more philosophical, which is why I like it. :D

100% Aussie. :P I like meat pies, footy, cricket, beer and lazy sunday barbeques, seriously.
  8. This was referring more to absolutely rebellious kids that would not obey authority no matter what. My guess is a reasonable comparison to this would be these guys that join gangs and start dealing drugs and killing people and stuff when they are 15 or 16. In Biblical times they would have been killed. I bet if this was still around we wouldn't be having the gang problems and violence in schools like we have... :P Let me get this straight... It promotes stoning kids to death in the bible? I'm in no way condoning such human beings, I have the most minisclue amount of respect for them out of pretty much anyone on the planet. Killing them on the other hand I think is wrong because most peoples brains don't mature till thier mid 20's or something like that. People, no matter how delinquant as kids, still have the capacity to change, given enough of a helping hand, of course. Sorry, I just find it odd that the practice of stoning children of all people being added in the bible as wierd.
  9. YES. OMG the solo is one of my all time fav's. RIP DIMEBAG \m/
  10. Haze, hands down. Meh, I just prefer Hendrix. Not to mentions it's an ace song. :
  11. It probably sounds pretty weenie, but last new years eve I had a pretty horrid myalgia (muscle aches). I just got home from a party and tried to go to sleep; it starts. I get up ad tell my dad I've got this pain in my legs and I tried using deep heat (I'm assuming at least some of you know what it is) to numb the pain. Nothing. It was shooting right through my calves and up to my thighs, this constant persistant ache. Then, it was time for the hospital. In the car on the way there it wasn't residing at all so I just had to grit my teeth and keep moaning and moving my legs to keep my mind of of the pain. Then when we got to the hospital the doctor asked some questions and got me 2 pain killers; a needle of something and a panadene fort. Then a muscle relaxant. #-o I'm sure you guys have had worse pains, but the bad thing about a myalgia is the pain isn't coming from anywhere per se, it's just there, persistant and annoying to say the least.
  12. Classy! Thank you. :D :P
  13. You're what we call a troll. Was that supposed to be insulting at all? :P I'm tipping you were just mucking around because that has to be one of the lamest comebacks evAr. =P~
  14. That's the same for me, basically. I think my wisdoms have popped up (what age is that supposed to happen?, I have no idea) but no pain or anything like that. Apparantly I have long tooth roots (genetic) so I probably would never get them pulled. My uncle never got his pulled and they never caused him trouble (I think). So nope, no teeth pulled. :P
  15. Actually me to. Work stinks, but I've got over it. I'm afraid to go to University next year, but it will probably work out OK. School got tough, but it was far harder last semmester. I'm sick right now, but it won't last. I was never really happy during the first 2 years at high school, but now I don't really want to leave (but I don't want to be one of those losers who stays around for a few extra years because they can't let go-besides, most of my friends are leaving). It's taken me til 2nd semmester grade 12 to finally realise that it's all down hill from here. I have lots of friends I get to hang out with everyday. School isn't a challenge for me anymore and I get amazing grades. I have a new computer. I'm getting my liscense soon (should have already but wutev). I have enough money (wish I had more :P ). The only bad things are that work clogs most of my Friday/Saturday nights, and I procrastinate too much. Overall, I've come to realise that I leave a pretty above average life compared to most people in the world, and so I am happy. My point: Wait until your hormones of teenage years stop going nuts, and you'll be fine. P.S. With me saying this, something bad will happen within a few weeks. Guaranteed. That's just how it works. Something BAD bad. Ah dude, that sucked for me, so much uncertainty and basically knowing little to nothing about university life. Seriously though, whatever image you have in your mind is generally NEVER as bad as what it turns out to be in real life. 7 weeks into uni, everything is sweet and nothing bad has happened (unless you'd call forgetting my lab coat and subsequently skipping a prac drastic. Not really, the 40 min drive in and bus ride out of the city to withdraw money and buy an iced coffee was worth it.. ).
  16. It happens to most people, I'm assuming. At one point in time, when I was around your age, I honestly had no idea what I wanted to be and my dad would continually ask me and I would just have no idea what I would want to do. School was like an inconveniance to me. The next year, it was grade 11, time to choose some serious subjects, so I chose the science subjects chemistry and biology. Today, I'm at university doing a science degree, hoping to major in biochemistry. The only problem for me is that I suck majorly in physics and maths. (Lucky in a few weeks I wont have to do them ever again :P ). Anyway the point of this post isn't just to blabber about my own experience. The things I've discovered in life are these: I didn't concern myself with what I wanted to do because I knew a forced career path would only be what I though I should do. I let choice come to me - I chose a pretty broad range of subjects, including (aside from the science ones I mentioned) maths and business studies. Overall I can't asure you the choice will present itself to you or you wont continue to be a it wishy-washy about what you want to do. My best bet is that you'll find out. Just focus on what you like, not what you think would be cool just because someone else inspires you. Anyway I hope something in here helped. I really do wish you the best of luck with all of this because education determines what your life is going to be like, basically. Stay in school and try your best no matter what you do or what you want to be, trust me, it will be worth it.
  17. Ah, yes. That's definitely to way to ensure safety at the airports. They were arabs last, so next time, they'll never recruit muslim extremists from somewhere else like the entire northern africa or Indonesia - you know, the place where Al Qaeda once blew up a nightclub, in a country with the single largest community of muslims in the world. And one of those bombers was born on Java. Or Chechnya. There's enough muslim extremists to go around there as well. And that's not even touching India or Pakistan; There were these to pakistani based islamic terrorist groups who tried to blow the indian government to smitherens in 2001. But hey, keep searching everyone who looks arabic and pretend it actually improves safety. After all, last time... I would have thought Jamar Islamia (spelling probably wrong), and there were two bombings (2002, 2005 respectively, from memory), one not as prominant as the first. Edit - Yes, it was *Jemaah Islamiyah*, an organisation based in south-east asia, with ties to Al Qaeda.
  18. I've never broken a bone.. Does that make me in a statistical minority? Possibly. :D :P The only injury I can remember lately is cutting my hand shaving the other day (shaving my face, I cut my hand through being a sheer unco) and I got a tiny cut, but it bled more than I expected and I kind of fainted. :?
  19. I don't know if I've posted in this topic before, but if I have, I'd have to add the DOOM game deries. Currently playing Final Doom, 'TNT evilution', map 15ish. I've finished Dooms 1 and 2. \m/  \m/
  20. It only got harder after the ski mask Raiden had on was taken off due to Ocelot forcing him, anywhere else before that part was ok It took me 2 tries to kill Metal Gear Ray but 16 tries to kill Solidus Snake You'd be better than me then. It took me months of intermittant playing to beat solidus, although I think I did it a ration down from memory. Hardest gaming experience ever for me. Come to think of it I did that back in around 2002-2003 ish so I might find it easier these days. One day I'll finish all the metal gear games on extreme.
  21. Point.. purpose.. it's all human defined. We came up with the definitions. We define what purpose is. I see what you're getting at though and it is a rather philosophical question.
  22. That sums it up pretty well, in all fairness to you. As for the comment on stereotyping and then stereotyping atheists and some christians, you are right, but it's just a little quirk of mine to cringe at stereotypes or generalising. It's true though, there are a few stuck up, 'think I'm better than you' atheists and christians out there. As an atheist, I really endorse challanging why you have the world view you do. For me I can say I am an atheist because I have generally no interest in the supernatural and simply don't share the beliefs of theists. Many theists do this as well and can't see the universe without a creator, and I can see why they do. Sorry for the tangent, but I'd have to say that most atheists and christians are generally pretty sensible, moral people.
  23. haha. ...I don't get it.
  24. I'm thinking you are arrogant for telling religious people how to live their life. What did Jesus say before he said love your neighbour? "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment." Christianity is not foremost about aiding those in need. It all starts with loving God. Ok, how about this for an interpretation. All of those nice warm fuzzy things in my post just before yours are loving god. We were created in god's image and thus, loving others is a representation of how we can physically love god.
