  1. Natural selection is a load of bolognie. :wall: No it isn't, it's an incredibly sensible theory. Anyway, getting suffocated by elephant [cabbage]... is quite discusting and unfortunate.
  2. Well, you kind of did say that. "So if a monkey was musically talented you would listen to it? My point is if there isn't something behind the music all it is is music." If something evokes an emotion it does mean something. Not only to me, but also to you and every other human being on this planet. Because an emotion is something. It is different to everybody (the evoked emotion of course), and it might even require some imagination or abstract thinking. These songs (the special ones) without lyrics don't give a cheap 'feeling' or an energy boost like "Keep going on, don't give up". It's about creating an atmosphere that's giving a long-lasting and intense experience. And that my friend, can't be beaten by pre-chewed lyrics that got spit out back into a song. Because in this way the music is in it's purest form, it hasn't been affected by other's opinions or experiences which are found in lyrics. Be it about God, death or love. Which of course doesn't mean that music with lyrics is bad, or less good. Fat hobbit, you're an idiot. Not because your post, because I didn't even bother to read that after the first few lines. But because it hasn't got ANYTHING to do with this topic and will only result in a way too off topic discussion which will get this topic locked. I'm not saying Xpls and I are on-topic, but atleast it's slightly related and will most likely result in something positive. @ the bold, I couldn't agree more. I think I heard Jeff Buckley once say something like music is a means or a medium to portray an emotion. This is something I totally believe in when writing music. Emotion is the foundation of any music (in my opinion), not necessarily what they sing about, although thought provoking lyrics always work. Can anyone reccomend and christian metal or just generally some really inspirational and good christian music?
  3. Conformity FTL? Just remember, popularity does not = happiness. Be yourself, dont try to be someone your not. It makes me :-X .
  4. just try it moron From memory, it didnt work on mythbusters. And I dont think anyone with a can of coke and a steak would mix the two together, rather cook the steak and drink the coke.
  5. :ohnoes: I thought you said "religion" there for a second. I live in Brisbane, Australia. pros: right near Moreton bay and Stradbroke and Moreton Islands. the Gabba and Suncorp Stadium (sport stadiums) are both pretty ace. generally nice weather :anxious: (although it could rain more...) close to the Gold Coast (beaches, hotels galore) \ the Broncos (Brisbane's rugby league team) rock  and many more... cons: water shortage. 'Nuff said. :uhh: Other than that, Brisbane is ace.
  6. Not necessarily, but I'm no expert. The acid in coke and any other softdrink is carbonic acid, which is a weak acid and as such, acts like a weak acid (it does not fully dissipate in water and is no where near as strong as hydrochloric acid [stomach acid]). Essentially, the only thing that stops your stomach acid from devouring your insides is the mucous membrane lining your stomach. From memeory it is replaced every 4 or so days and can withstand the relitively strong hydrochloric acid in your stomach. Carbonic acid from softdrinks, however, is a drop in the bucket compared to hydrochloric's corrosive power.
  7. I can assure you there are friends out there for you, and probably here too, try to get to know some people's common interests, and if they're like yours, it shouldn't be so hard.

I'm not japanese, but yes, mildly (not accutely). I actually love going to parties, as long as there aren't to many strangers there.

As for song writing advice... I'm not sure, because all the music I write just comes to me kind of. As for playing the guitar, just keep practicing every day, try to learn lots of new things.
  10. Best: WINNING THE ASHES!!!, seeing Lamb of God in concert, finishing school. Worst: ... :-k

Yeah, I have that too, to the extent when I hold my breath when handling most rubbish and wash my hands every time I handle rubbish/something dirty.
  13. Ecstacy. IMO, that was the greatest win in the greatest series from the greatest Australian sporting team, ever. Plus the retirement of three of the greatest Australian sportsman ever. I type this as a very happy and content individual. Well done Australia. =D>

Oh man, I HATE that noise and the feeling of cutting into styrofoam :ohnoes: You know some phobias are actually concidered medical conditions? Its like a developed irrationality, a complex if you will. Of course you can work it out, but it dosent change the fact that they can severely impact on peoples lives, with no fault of thier own. It's like a disability for some people.
  15. So is everything. :) (My friend drank six cartons of chocolate milk today and was pretty sick for an hour or so. Just remembered that. :P ) Maybe he has *Edit* lactate problems? Key words being six cartons. Having too much of anything makes you sick. I believe to much water can dilute the electrolytes in your blood, limiting proper muscle and nerve function.
  16. Just drink regular coke: good ol' regular sugar (which, from what it sounds, may ironically be better for your health as its something your body actually recognises and can metabolise). (Dont take my word for it, I havent done any research on the issue)

Do you suffer from a phobia/phobias? if so, please share :uhh: :anxious: I, myself suffer from the following: Agoraphobia (mild) - fear of public places. Xenophobia (mild) - fear of strangers. Glossophobia (medium) - fear of public speaking. Arachnophobia (strong) - fear of spiders. :ohnoes: and; Coulrophobia ( ) - fear of clowns: Maybee I'm a bit wierd, but I heard somewhere up to 75% of people suffer from glossophobia. :uhh: What about you guys?
  20. :uhh: what did you just say? :uhh: No, i dont believe in destiny if thats what your getting at. I think we all have free will and no one's future is predetermined.
  21. Australia has a lead! But Gilchrist was robbed!
  22. I live in cricket loving, beer drinking, bone dry Australia. (Please rain!!!) :anxious:
  23. Im 18 in a matter of days, and for my birthday, I'm going to the cricket and I'll actually be allowed to drink beer.
  24. I totally agree, school to me (I'm finished now) was kind of wierd. I learnt quite a bit of life experience, but none from any teacher, I learnt all of that myself, and I remember it. But most of the information I learnt from subjects has been useless to me so far, and as a result I've forgotten the majority of it. I cant help but feel that school could be so much better as a learning environment, not just a place to test how well your memory and effort is is (learning things for tests and putting in effort on assignments). It kind of feels like a semi-wasted 12 years of my life (the good things are me learning life experience and times with friends).
