so far, i relate most to those who i post with in the topic about cricket, although i wouldnt mind getting to know some people better.

my suggestion is to make begging a reportable offence, yes thats right, make begging against the rules of the game. I believe its not in the spirit of the game to pester others for 'phr33 st00f pl0x' etc as it is incredibly annoying for those on the recieving end. The more people get away with it, the more everyone will think its ok, but if it were against the rules, it would virtually be eradicated as the problem would likely recede over time. what do you think? (no flaming or posting of a similar nature)

i think its great. I dont know if this will make sense, but i really like fantasy music - really ambiet, abstract, and sometimes fear inducing music, although i dont really know any artists particular to what im talking about. Any film that is really abstract and trippy i like also. any reccomendations?

no, i wanst implying that. And you should never shove your set of morals onto someone else and assume they will think the same way, it shows a total lack of empathy and care. again, a lack of empathy. Obviously everyone has a capacity to think for themselves. If you define your own set of morals, its for you to live by, not everyone else.

i didnt say that they couldnt feel pain. I wasnt referring to chimpanzees either, they are obviously more like humans than a cow or a chicken. What i was getting at is that using the terms 'humanity' or 'inhumane' etc when referring to animals is really inaccurate as human behaviour and thought is far more complex and intricate, even compared to chimpanzees (chimps do have basic human characteristics, though). also, there is far more to humanity and the qualities of being a human than a dictionary could ever tell you.

thats the problem here, really. people give humainty to something that isnt human (cows, chickens etc). The dont feel the way we do, thier brains arent as evolved and as a reult they dont question thier existance, why they are being eaten, why people are so cruel, etc...

thats right, you cant help people that dont want to be helped. In other words, you cant force your morals on others.

actually, the more you study about them, you'll find they are very different. the things you mentioned are pretty much te only similarities, even though the reproduction of plants is vastly different from animals animals - get thier energy from celular respiration (breathing O2 to add to broken down glucose, gives off CO2) have complex and varied bodily systems, organs, blood vessels and blood to transport protiens, fats, nucleic acids, carbs, nutrients, vitamins etc. have some sort of nervous system and can perform basic, voluntary actions. have a complex reproductive system. plants - get thier energy from the sun via photosynthesis (uses CO2 + H2O to make glucose, gives off O2) have no bodily systems or organs, have some vessels (called xylem?) for transporting things. have no nervous systems and act based on thier genetic code alone. have simple reproductive ststem (seeds, spores, lack of courtship, family etc) note: i see nothing wrong in eating either meat or plant matter.
