  1. You can't make blanket statements like that. You're assuming he enjoyed watching the video because he likes watching death. That is a hasty conclusion and one that you did not support. Perhaps he just likes watching justice being served. He enjoyed watching it. Death of someone should never be enjoyable. Ever. Let me repeat myself. He wasn't watching the video for the sake of watching someone die. He was watching the video for the sake of watching justice being served. You're assuming it was the death that was enjoyable - I'm assuming that it was the justice of the act that was enjoyable; it just so happened that justice was served in a generally non-desirable way, but it doesn't change the fact that it was justice, and that is what is enjoyable about it. Here here. You can't just assume that everyone is a sadistic maniac and likes watching people die. Let me turn your attention to an example I gave in the other topic: Just say you see someone die in real life, would you enjoy it? No, would you be happy? No, of course not (unless you are crazy). It's not like you'd say 'Oh im glad he's dead because I like watching people die!!!' They dont watch the execution to see someone die, they watch it to see justice served. I can't image why you wouldn't understand this. Agreed.
  2. tuborg = =P~

  7. It's not about making use of him, it's about justice and closure for the victims families. We shouldnt even be questioning the hanging, it's Iraq's new democracy showing it can have such a trial (although it wasnt perfect) and execute its former leader. That takes guts and I'm glad that the victims families have some kind of closure. You nor I can begin to understand the pain these people have been through.
  8. Ok, heres an example to you and those who think that killing Saddam is hypocritical. Theres a 10 year old boy, minding his business, walking along the footpath to school, when suddenly, he is kidnapped by a 40-ish male. Over the next 8 years, the boy is kept captive in the mans basement as a sex slave. Now tell me it's hypocritical to lock this 40-something man up for 8 (or hopefully many more) years where, upon the knowlege that he is a child rapist, he will be raped himself. It's justice, Karma if you like, not stooping to thier level. This is a perfectly realistic example, I have seen many examples such as this on TV.
  9. It's not so much as hypocrisy as justice. If its the way that the Iraqi legal system works than thats thier business and its not really for us to judge. An eye for an eye. Although i know the people looking for videos of Saddam's death are just curious, I dont think they are sick but I dont think they realise the difference between violence in movies and violence in real life. Violence in real life is not censored, is more horriffic, emotionally ridden and emotionally scarring. Closure is a wierd thing, and I dont think I would fully understand it unless someone close to me died to someone elses hand without reason. You shouldn't Judge those (Iraqi's) who have been affected by Saddam's reign and who want to see/rejoice in Saddam's death.

  12. I've probably said this before but why i believe there is nothing wrong with eating meat is because humans are omnivorous animals - we eat and are designed to eat both meat and plants (comparisons of species teeth and what they eat to us proves this fact). Sure, in some places in the world some animals which are bred to be eaten may have sub-par lives, but chances are they would have it rough in the wild also. Keep in mind, you titled this topic 'eating meat: right or wrong?' not 'are animals bred to be slaughtered treated with cruelty?'. Its the food chain, it isnt at all unfair to kill another animal to eat its flesh. Its nature. I'll state some facts I've made once more - - Humans are omnivorous animals - we eat and are designed to eat both meat and plants. - It isnt at all unfair to kill another animal to eat its flesh. Its nature. Anyone who disputes these facts, I cant understand or agree with and i question your sanity.

  14. Firstly, I NEVER said that none of you would know him. NEVER. I said, IF you dont know him. Theres a big difference there mate. And as for the reason why I said 'Does anyone even know who he is' - if you could read you would have known i previously stated it was because that no one was replying. End of discussion. I dont want any more suggestions that I'm an 'eletist' either - before this topic, I'd never heard that term applied to Tool fans. I like Tool, APC and Maynard for one single reason - It is simply excellent music ad he is simply and excellet musician.
  15. Say Goodbye - I Killed the prom Queen.

  17. yeah, the minds of cosmologists/astrologists, etc never cease to amaze me. The universe is incredibly intricate and they seem to have a lot of it mapped pretty well. Theres still a lot of uncharted territory out there though, for example what is beyond the observable universe.
  18. I enjoy watching cricket. It's a very laid back game (most of the time) and the test match version of the game goes for up to 5 days. Australia are very good at cricket at the moment and I enjoy watching them play very much. Tomorrow I'm watching the first day of the 5th test of a 5 test series of test match cricket. :D
  19. You are an oxymoron. But seriously, try the lottery.
