no surprises really, i use utilitarian ethics in most cases, but i do look at all moral circumstances differently.
  2. tool - parabola - 'overthinking, overanalysing separates the body from the mind' pantera - goddamn electric - 'ITS GODDAMN ELECTRIC!!!!' A perfect circle - pet - 'Don't fret precious I'm here, step away from the window Go back to sleep Lay your head down child I won't let the boogeyman come Counting bodies like sheep To the rhythm of the war drums' Lamb of God - Blacken the Cused Sun - 'Sanctity, a breath away. Just a breath away.' and then ... (in a sickeningly desperate scream at the end of the song) 'Is any of this even reeeeeaaaalllll????!!!!!' *shudders* blacken the cursed sun = awesome song.
  3. yes.. but its a bit more complicated than that, snarls, growls, screams, pitched or unpitched, can really be a science (maybe im iased because i like metal? )
  4. not all that many aussies here, so ill say one of these three: I killed the Prom Queen (hardcore/metal) Parkway Drive (hardcore/metal) Sunk Loto (metal/alternative rock) prove me wrong people...

i was wondering, what makes one persons morals better than anothers? How can we truely tell whos moral values are the correct ones. It may seem a simple question at first, by try looking at it subjectively, not objectively as ther objective answer to this is simple - what the greater number think. but what do you think? is there one ultimate set of morals, whos morals are the right ones? Note: i dont want any useless, immature posting Note: nothing related to religious beliefs, you can talk about religous morals (i think, if not, then could a mod edit this please.)

    ditto.
  17. were all entitled to our opinions on what is defined as a hero, so i'll leave that one be. :D Aussies FTW!! :D :-k  just in case you missed it.. Need i remind you that this post is about Shane Warne, you havent even mentioned his name ONCE. so im going to end this right now. no more arguing.
  18. try 'berkelium broccoli' its not a whack.. but see how many results you get
  19. read the bolded text, slowly, 5 times. so your assuming that the guy in your example never practiced in his life? your assuming that he just went on the court as a kid and blitzed everyone? your assuming that he needed no guidance and he was superiorly smart enough to pick up the game, pick up a ball and simultaneouslty become the best basketballer going around? If you had two cents to rub together, youd know that he had to work up a sweat, make his brain hurt (or think, as i believe it is called) and learn the game, the plays, the technique, the mindset of the other team, etc how can you seriously concider one example overwhelming evidence? i think youll find that your example is the 1% minority. as for this part.. is this kid you? because that would explain all the resentment your showing towards the supposed 'ease' at which sportstars gain 'millions'... :shame: Need i remind you that this post is about Shane Warne, you havent even mentioned his name ONCE. so im going to end this right now. no more arguing. Its christmas time, and on boxing day, Shane warne and the Australian team is going to walk out onto the MCG infront of close to 100,000 screaming fans with millions more watching on TV. This will be a historical moment in cricket, the second last test match for Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath and the last appearane of Warney at his home ground. added to this, Warney is just 1 wicket away from a total of 700 in tests, which will make him the highest wicket taker ever. just incase you missed it the first time.. Need i remind you that this post is about Shane Warne, you havent even mentioned his name ONCE. so im going to end this right now. no more arguing.
  20. you still dont get it do you? one example dosent make what everything you said before ok. Try and get your brain around this - there are naturally gifted academics, right? some who even find school and then tertiary studies easy, right? does that mean that they can slack off? - NO. does that mean that they dont have to try? - NO. does that mean that they dont have to work hard for the results? - NO. So now apply this to a sportsman. no-one becomes a truely elite sportsman without working for it, even if they are naturally gifted, i dont care how much you say otherwise. too true.
  21. i, more than most, am dissapointed at where this topic has gone. I know i had a hand in derailing it a bit, but i cant help someone elses ignorance and i couldnt just sit on my hands. I find it offensive when someone indirectly sais the aussie cricket team are a bunch of slackers who never have to lift a finger and as a result, roll in millions. The fact of the matter is that they have and still work extremely hard to represent thier country (my country[our country]) in they best fasion they can.
  22. let me contextualise what i mean a little bit. WW2/WW1 veterans --- HEROES \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ Shane Warne - Cricketing hero I see what you mean perfectly, but youll have to concede (spelling) that the term hero (these days) is used loosely. Think of little kids saying 'hes my hero' what they actually mean is that they admire that person. So when i say that Warney is a cricketing hero, i mean that i, and millions of others, admire him for his contributions to cricket. Theres no doubting that war veterans are and will always be the greatest of heroes.
  23. a bit of both... but seriously, im a guy.
