  4. Al Burj - Dubai Burj Dubai - Dubai Dubai is crazy. The first one is proposed but the second one is currently under construction. I'm definately going to Dubai one day.
  5. Just to be sure, I thought I'd dust off my chemistry skills from year 12 and see if I can help (in a colaborative sense). Question 1: Firstly, I worked out the numerical value for Keq, given the unaltered equilibrium scenario, as described in the reaction given. This value I calculated as 1.25. Secondly, I used this value in the altered equilibrium scenario (with half the moles of CO) and designated the concentration of CO2 as 'x' as it is the variable in this insance. After some simple algebra, I came up with the new concentration of CO2 to be 0.4 molar, which seems to make sense as it is half of the original amount. Question 2: Again, I worked out the numerical value of Keq which gave me 313.04. I then substituted the altered values (i.e. the concentration of NO2 at 1.28 instead of 1.2) and designated the concentration of oxygen as 'x'. After algebra not dissimilar to the previous question, I worked out that the concentration of O2 in the altered equilibrium was 0.091, an increase of .011. Hope this helped, had to say it was interesting seeing if I remembered senior chemistry. i think i did ok, but dont take my word for it.
  6. Move everyone south to buy some time, build shelters and stockpile food. Hope everyone/ most people survive until the storms blow over. And perhaps...
  7. Best advice yet. You wont become a guitar ledgend by teaching yourself. You need someone to get you on the right tracks ie. perfect hand position and technique. Then practice what your tutor teaches you and practice it alot. I'd say at least 2 hours a night. I heard once that John Petrucci never got lessons. Could be wrong.
  8. What if you want a pepsi?
  9. I know that theres a limit to how tall a mountain can be on earth (or any planet for that matter) due to gravity i.e. the higher the gravity of the planet, the lower the max height a mountain can be. I think... :-w
  10. Rugby - Brisbane Broncos and QUENNSLAND MAROONS!!! Cricket - QLD Bulls and the Aussie team.
  11. But i believe the water crisis at the moment is the worst ever. Our reserves are drying up and anything that contributes to that (global warming) I dont like.
  12. In Aus: Bar = Pub Susages = Snags Vegetables = Veggies Men = Blokes Women = Sheilas I'll think of more later on this arvo (afternoon) :P

  14. I have to say, the superficial nature of your post annoys me a little. Here in Australia, we are in the worst drought in over 100 years and possibly the worst in recorded history. As a result of global warming (and possibly other factors) our major cities water supplies are dwindling at an alarming rate. Can't go snowboarding? Well thats to bad because in around 50 years or less I might not be able to drink water and face the prospect of moving to a different part of the country. off topic: Do you live in Richmond? Thats where Lamb of Gog are from. :D
  15. No, I'm not. I'm just pretty much fed up with these guys here only listening to metal (is it an image thing?) acting like their genre is exceptionally harder to play than any other kind of music, and leaves every other kind of music far behind it. And then when somebody comments about that they all start crying. So just to make things a little bit balanced again, I had to say that. I just thought I'd help your perception change a bit. I dont listen to only metal, by any means. Nor do I see it as an 'image thing'. I also like: Rock, Alt Rock, Heavy Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Prog Rock, Pop Rock (the Beatles, Jeff Buckley [i added this because I loathe most 'pop' music]) and generally any music that is good and has effort and thought put into it. Heavy Metal, for the most part, is quite hard to play (I am a guitarist myself and tend towards playing mostly Lamb of God music) although I totally agree that there are many more styles of music that are equally or harder to play (such as flemenco, fusion, some jazz, blues and classical).

  17. Here here. Conformity is a cancer on society. It's worse than any kind of a cancer. It's a malignant tumor of the brain! And it's spreading! Get the sedatives! We all need a bit of conformity in our lives. Just don't overdose on it. How so? Eat rocks or conform to food! But seriously, santor, rushrock, you guys are discriminating against popular people. One of my friends is on her basketball team, she's great looking and has tons of friends. She's very, very popular. But is she shallow? Hell no! She always helps others and is nice as can be! Being popular for her is just a coincidence with her personality. Popularity does not necessarily = conformity. They aren't discriminating against popular people in any way, only against conformists. Conformists are those who try to be popular just for the sake of being popular and fitting in with others to 'be cool'. There is nothing wrong with being popular as long as it is truly who you are.
  18. Seeing as I dont really know many people on this forum, I generally take a look at everything.
  19. Test Cricket Results over history. In terms of the history of the game, England is still No. 2 but recently they havent performed like it. Of course, we still own with a winning record of 63.92%
  20. It needn't be... And dragon, do you seriously expect everyone to use perfect grammar on the internet? You disgust me. :P
  21. All your debates with the probability of the building were addressed in my post. Sorry about that. :

  25. 1) The money issue. It would cost a rediculous amount of money and to concentrate this kind of economy shift in the one area it would really have to be in the middle of tokyo or something. (for the masses of jobs) 2) The height. What your proposing is an incredibly tall object and as someone stated once this building could be in the jet stream if you put it in the wrong geographical area. 3) Altitude. If you dont pressurise the entire building with it's own atmosphere, you would almost definately get something like altitude sickness if you took 10 mins (?) to go from the bottom to the top in an elevator. 4) Weight. An object of this size would most likely collapse on itself as gravity would be definately against you. If you want to make it as tall as you propose, it would almost have to take the shape of a pyramid/mountain type structure. But hey, cool idea. \
