From an experienced Gymnast (Agilitist didn't seem to work), I've done the Wilderness course and I was pked there and often but it is good experience. At the Werewolf course I felt safer and rightly so. Wear boots of lightness, ring of charos, and have a load full of lobs. I failed less and less as I ate my lobsters (the Zip line primarily). But it gets tedious. I've not done the Monkey course yet because of it's remote location as well as the need to get a Ninja Monkey Greegree but as others have said it's bad. Now the Brimhaven Agility Arena is by far the most fun you will have training agility. At your leve you can traverse all of the traps and make the Dart trap and make it (you'll fail more often than you'll make it, but if you're desperate it's worth crossing it). You'll meet people and you'll have time to chat inbetween all of the running around, you can even race people to the next ticket. Go there, it'll make the time go by faster. I personally would hold out for 1k tickets but that's up to you and your level of patience and determination.

You will NOT always win. I've been playing world 78 for about a week now and it's extremely fun and it's worthwhile to go there, hang out and gain some combat experience. But it is not guarantee that you will win. Sure there are level 124's hanging around but that does not mean you are going to be victorious, there can be fools that open gates, leave the Void Knight defenseless, let monsters slip by, avoid killing spinners, etc. I've gone from 68 to 70 Strength as well as 66 to 70 Attack and have gained one hitpoint level from training directly on the one skill as well as pouring any and all points I earned into that one skill. I've gone from around level 82 to level 85 in about a week and I never, ever, do combat. To me getting those two stats up to 70 have been very enjoyable and I'm planning to do the same with Defense to raise it from 65 to 70 (unfortunately according to my little program I made it'll take 380+ points but it doesn't include experience I'll earn from simply killing the monsters and it doesn't change the experience gained from each new level I'll reach beforehand, so it should be much less). When Jagex changed the experience points earned for Pest Control to a lower number they said they didn't want the game to be the only method of training. If you're willing to take the loses with the wins and not be a drain on the team, be sure to pull your own weight. Every person that gets on the island, adds another notch to the difficulty level and amount of monsters, so you should be able to handle yourself well in combat before you even think about joining up at world 78.

Well it depends on your understanding of a "long time". To most people we go to school and have only a couple hours to play the game whereas some people go 24/7 playing the game because they are not doing anything else. If you played like mad I'd figure it would take about 2-3 Months for each bit. I would also add on another couple months just for a bit of leeway with it. No human being is that dedicated. So about 17 months of pure organized activity. Might I recommend reading a book while doing the simpler things that way you're not spending nearly a year and a half of doing nothing. A book that might last that long would be War & Peace. Pick it up and tell us what you think of it.

Yes, when you run out of inventory space(because they've multiplied and taken up all the space availbale in your inventory) they will start to pile up and I think it maxes out at 28 in one square of your inventory.

Actually, it is also possible to get rune. Indeed it is. I wonder if it's conceivable to get a Dragon sword from it. It's a sword after all, perhaps just extremely rare (wishes for a Dragon Long for only 100 gp)

W3schools is honestly one of the best place to pick up on HTML and CSS and other various Browser related coding. If you're not getting the code correct and seriously wish to pursue web design then I suggest you either go to your local High School, Community College, or Public Library and pursue a course in it. Individual attention from a teacher will generally help anyone when learning. Eventually everyone will learn HTML as they grow up and we'll be seeing seven year olds with their own websites (with many restrictions I hope seeing as they may make wrong choices on the 'net). So you better learn now before the little kids can "own" you at web design.

Don't be sorry! That was an extremely quick reply and more information than I've gathered in a week (Google has failed me many a time during this quest for answers). Honestly, that's enough information to get underway with that bit of the game. If anyone knows about any other Runes involved that's fine too, but Thank You pokemama.

Power Ammy is very good for a range bonus but if you're too cheap to get one you can always complete the Imp Catcher quest and get the Amulet of Accuracy. It's not that great, but for killing a bunch of imps and getting beads, it's not too hard to get (although imps are really annoying and sometimes hard to find, lets hope you stocked up on the beads during the christmas event).

The game from the Ghosts Ahoy! Quest in which you must beat Robin Hood in the game of chance known as "RuneDraw"! I'm really interested in making that game into a Flash version and as a mini-game in one of my coming up Flash Games involving Runescape  sig, hint hint. I'd really like to know the values of each rune and what the goal of the game was. I completed the quest when it first came out and so I've forgotten the actual numbers behind it but this where I put my faith in the Tip.it community to see if they can help me out. Any information regarding the Runedraw game (especially the numbers that were assigned to each rune) would be amazing. Thanks for your help everyone.

Absolutely, looks far more like a tavern/adventure-esque. I'm really enjoying the look of the text boxes and whatnot. Well done to whomever crafted this beautiful style.

Where are you getting $12 a month? Is that including fees and whatnot for a phone service? But besides that, World of Warcraft costs about $15 a month if you purchase individually. You can get it down to $13 dollars a month if you go for a six month package (but you pay all the cash up front so it'll look like a lot more). I did the 14 day trial of World of Warcraft and I must say I loved the game so much. For the weekends that I could play the game I just kept on playing for hours and hours it's one of the most beautiful and entertaining games I've ever played. I got up to level 13-14 in just two weeks (less than that actually) and the cap is 60. When you get your account you'll have multiple character slots in which you can create different characters. I believe that they must be on the same side (but I'm not sure on that). You can only log into one account (which encompasses all of your characters) at a time so you'd never play alongside of your brothers. Now you also mentioned playing WoW on other computers as well. Remember that WoW is not browser based and is a CD game so whatever computer you go to will require a copy of the game already on the computer, but otherwise you CAN log onto your account from a different computer. I know this for a fact as a cyber cafe that many of my nerdier friends frequent go there to play WoW as a group at times. Now the choice between playing WoW, Runescape, or other MMORPG's all rely on your personal preferences. Do you want stunning visuals and have the support of a HUGE international community and developers that have had around thirty years experience making games, and are you willing to pay both for the game($30-$50) as well as a monthly fee($13-$15)? If so, go for World of Warcraft. I was going to write more on reason to stick with Runescape primarily because you've already started with it and joined a community for it and are probably paying for the game as well, but in comparison to WoW there are few reasons to stick with the game. If you feel no connection to the game and are quite willing to jump ship and move to a new game then I suggest not going with World of Warcraft at first. The game costs quite a lot and from your figures given (of your salary) you earn about $2080 a year ($40*52 weeks, which is probably not true as you don't work every week of the year). Since you are an actual employee and are not being paid under the table you'll have a 401k (some form of a retirement plan required by the law, not sure what they call it in Australia) which is about 25% of your yearly salary which is $520 leaving you with $1560 for the year. Thus with your initial payment of (worst case scenario) $50 and (this time best case scenario) the six month package of $13 each month ($78 in which you pay twice so actually $156 a year) you end up with $1354 left over. You'd have to deal with your own personal savings and whatnot and I hope you're not living on that income, but nonetheless you'd still make out well. You're still losing out on $156 a year. I would instead suggest Guild Wars which is a very stylized game and with no monthly fees. You purchase the game and then when updates come out you MAY purchase them but there is no need to do so and in fact sometimes they make free updates for all users. You'll only be losing $50 for one year and that's it. Now you may ask me why I'm not playing Guild Wars. For me I do not like to give up on a game in which I've come so far. I've done so much in Runescape and I want to continue the game for as long as I can and while I'm "powerful" in Runescape it's difficult to start up as a "newb" again in a brand new game (which is why I prefer to join a game when it first starts up that way everyone is a "newb" and everyone is discovering at the same time instead of some people being years/levels ahead). Really it's your choice. Read up on the games, look at screenshots. Don't read reviews or look for the opinions of others as most of us have different tastes for games than you do. You're better off making a choice for yourself and doing the research for yourself (it's a better learning experience). That's my two-cents.

Will i ever be able to see my characters face?

Whenever someone mentions "Java" or any small attribute of Runescape and call it a "limitation" of Java it always causes quite the stir in the community. Let's clear up a few things. Runescape IS made in JAVA, not JAVASCRIPT. Javascript is a smaller coding language built for adding interesting dynamic things to a website and works only in browsers. Java is much larger than that and can produce grand scale projects. The Calculators on Tip.it are written in Javascript and not Java, that shows the difference of the uses I hope. "Rune Script" is not an official code that everyone uses, the lead programmers of Runescape created a pseudo-code to make updating the game easier. I assume there is a script that breaks down the easy to work with code (Rune Script) and compiles it back into Java so all of our computers can work with it. It is not what the game is completely made of. World of Warcraft is a far superior game because it is written in a different programming langauge (I think C++ but I'm not sure). The developers at World of Warcraft have had years more experience than the team at Jagex and also a far larger source of money to draw from to hire better 3d designers, developers, etc. But the better looks costs more which is why it's 15 dollars a month. Notice how Jagex has a huge clientele of people who do not even pay for their game. If F2P was gotten rid of and everyone was forced to pay to play the game they would surely increase their graphics and perhaps make it a standalone game (meaning not browser-based). But that would reduce their market greatly. The draw for Runescape to many people is that you can go just about anywhere and log on to your account from any computer with the internet and pick up where you left off. If Jagex really wanted people to be intense hardcore gamers and beat their game in a matter of months (as many people in WoW have done) then they would charge more and increase the game even better. My final thoughts are if you want to see your characters face go hang out with Bloodveld and play World of Warcraft. It is very unlikely that you will ever see the great detail of your character besides when you're in a dialogue with an NPC. You probably love the game so I'd say stick with it until you get tired of the game. One last thing, this is a MMORPG, Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Role Playing Game! You need to imagine these things. It cannot be that only people like myself who have played Dungeons and Dragons can imagine greater things going on in front of you. Care less about what's in front of you and more about the story, that's where the real fun lies. -
Ice lands, Random Scenarios, and Summoning...

Temple trekking :) Yah, it's temple trekking + the other new treasure trails. They still need to do a team thing if they want to... but they don't really have to anymore. But the "team thing" is exactly what I want! For those of us who are not PKers and are not in gigantic clans a simple Team of six people to go on an interesting quest would be amazing. The "real" quests that we play are focused on us as the heroes, but there are things out there that one adventurer cannot do alone. That should be exemplified as we take part in a team of six to go out and travel the lands of Runescape combatting evil while a minor storyline is played out (one that is not detrimental to the official storylines). You could just have a simple plug and play quest. Insert reason to go (Wealthy noblemen pays you, A rare artifact is the reward) insert plot (A powerful wizard has taken residence near the Druids he must be stopped, A goblin chieftan is planning to make war against the humans) and then insert the randomly made dungeon and then poof! You've got yourself a random adventure. They'd need about a month of creative writing team to develop all of the storylines, but I think it'd be worth the work. Just imagine having a close group of friends in which you can share epic battles with all the while being able to roleplay a storyline. That's what an RPG is ladies and gentlemen. If anyone has ever played Diablo you'll know that the dungeons there were randomly generated and that gave millions of different dungeons that could be played. If I could find a group of good natured individuals I'd be dungeon crawling all day long if I could. -
The Frog being a price storyline is far older than Runescape the game. They're simply drawing on an old Fairy Tale and where do all Princesses go at the end of a fairy tale? Back to the Kingdom and live happily ever after. I personally do not believe that the statements made by the princess are not refering to a possible foreshadowing of the second quest in the fairy series. But then again I could wrong.

Noctis, can you give me any advice on what I should bring into Desert Treasure? Kwimbob, that's what I like to hear. I'll definetly go off and buy a D-Scimmy from a monkey somewhere and yes I'll get a better shield :) Xyrec, I suppose I'll start some more training for Desert Treasure, thanks for the words of caution. Thanks to you all, looks like I've got some more pest control games to work on to build up my stats. I'm going for 70 Attack, 68+ Defence, 65+ Mage and Ranged. Should I focus on one stat more than the other?

Those are the Cutlasses from the latest Pirate Quest, Cabin Fever. They can be purchased on the Pirate Island of Mos'leharmless. Those two are fairly cheap, under 5k each, and there is one more sword for purchase as well. They're really not all that good, but if you're looking to be a pirate, I guess that's what you would want to use.

I do not know all too much about boaters but I saw only one going for 300k (I didn't get the color). But Dragon Battleaxe goes for 180k and can be purchased in the heroes guild for that amount or sometimes you can find a great deal for it when people are just looking to make some quick cash/leaving members/clearing their bank. I remember I sold mine for about 150k when I was off to F2P for a great deal of time.

I started Legends without a guide and I got as far as the "SMELL" bit when I was sick and tired of not having the proper equipment. I looked at the guide and I saw I had to fight off the Demon several times. So I'm none too confident in my skills but maybe I should be. My plan is to farm and make about six Prayer Potions for use on Legends. My equipment consists of Berserker Helm, Rune Plate, Rune Plate Legs, Mithril Kite Shield, Dragon Battle Axe, Glory Amulet, Boots of Lightness, and Ring of Charos (because it's always useful). My stats are below. Do you think I can succesfully defeat the Demon. I know little of Desert Treasure and I plan on not using a guide so am I strong enough to take the monsters to town in that quest as well?

The reason why he posted the "old school" version of the Oompa Loompa is because he was trying to illustrate how the new movie is basically a fraud to the original storyline and movie that most people have seen as a child and is a happy memory. It's kind of like seeing the original Star Wars "A New Hope" movie and then seeing the "Digitally Remastered" version with a hundred more stormtroopers, more tie fighters, and more laser blasters. Sure it might look up-to-date but it doesn't really add anything to when you first saw the Republican Cruiser fly over your head being chased down by an Imperial Star Destroyer. Do not forget the power of Cult Fan Groups and Nostalgia. Not everyone wants a remastered version of the films they grew up with. Respect and understand the opinions of others and try not to attack them because they enjoyed something you did not.

Well to me it looked like the sand worms from Beetlejuice. I think they just made a huge snake that grabbed some items. I think the reference would be too obscure to really make a connection as the "Snowager" is not a critical part of Neopets (or at least it wasn't back when I played nearly three years ago). Plus if it were something from neopets I'd imagine it would be something to draw that crowd to Runescape so a quest such as "Royal Trouble" with it's fairly difficult requirements (Fremminek Trials, Throne of Miscellania) and the fact that it is a members quest would make it hard for an average player of Neopets to see the "clever" reference.
-
Except for a ray or a parabola or anything with an even exponent. :) If Runescape is going to end in the future it will be in a long time. They have a huge fan base, hundreds of thousands of members and there are almost always over a hundred thousand players online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The game would have to slip in quality to lose it's members and then they would have to stop offering Free gameplay to really lose it's potential market.
-
And I was having troubles with them normally Pking. Shucks :( Thanks for the tip though.
-
Your opinion is based on only one trial. Why not do the weakest person and the longest route? I can guarantee that it will be much harder. The events that happen are random. That time you just lucked out. Try again with a more difficult route and the weakest person and see if you think it's still not a challenge.
-
I'll beat they revamped the Restless Ghost quest. They've been updating their F2P quests so why not the Restless ghost as it's one of the first quests many new players try out.

It's also because you can define keys in Java and various other programs. Once you've clicked on the Applet the shortcuts will take over. This may only work for certain browsers though because some Windows code may take precedence over the Browsers/the Applets own commands.
