  1. Owned! Uh, yes actually. It's called rising real estate prices. You aren't making money, but if you were to sell your house, it would be worth more, so technically, you are. In this, you cannot resell your house. So the money is lost. But you are getting away from the initial purpose of this thread. Construction is NOT a money maker, instead it is a FUN maker. Don't you see? Jagex didn't make the POH's as some god awful arduous experience that forced you to do pointless tasks for little reward instead you get to see your creation grow as you put your time and effort into it. We still are doing pointless tasks but we are getting a grand reward, a place of our own, a place for friends to hang out and relax with us. The POH's are not meant to make money, they're meant to create a new experience in RS, an enjoyable one where you can take a load off from all of your fighting time. Relax and enjoy the comforts of your own home, don't worry about making money, just relax.
  2. I think you aught to make the best object you can in your house the moment you can and then continue on whatever pattern you choose to make. So stock up on Cloth, Molten glass, and steel bars before you take part in your XP gathering extravaganza.
  3. Owned! But besides that yes you can make just about anything and everything you want by woodcutting and mining the only daunting part is purchasing a new room and buying cloth and planks themselves. I myself am cutting 680 oak logs to turn into planks to get to 44 Construction. That is going to cost me 170k and that does not include any additions to my house or anything like that. Something to think about: Had they given POH's to F2P then the prices would be much smaller as they do not have as great an income as we do. We can two-click our way to riches by thieving from NPC's. We are literally making money appear out of nowhere. I do not mind the prices because I can earn it back through my skills and even merchanting if I wanted (Death and Chaos FTW!). Anyone can earn the gold needed to create the POH and all it's accoutrements through their Members skills and their Woodcutting, Mining, Smithing, and Crafting. You are not required to buy every last raw material there are only a few of them that are impossible to get otherwise. Be glad that you have all of these abilities to make so much money that the game developers deem that they need to take money away from you.
  4. Mirrorforced and I have been mentioning this throughout the day (I haven't seen all too many others and this is not a slam against the author, it's good that there is a thread for it now). As others pointed out it's only one persons house and also if all of Tip.it came visiting the lag would be something fierce. The only way we could have a good time and not intrude upon someones house is to make it a TET event. For now it could really be anyone who feels like loaning their house out for a couple hours. So long as they have some games and a kitchen (free beer!) then it could be a fun experience. If we wanted an all out blast we'll have to wait a while for our members to build up their dungeon and their games/combat rooms to their full extent and then that would be an even greater event. But also if we had multiple people letting us into their houses in one night then we would be further spread out, thus less lag and perhaps we'd have completely different experiences (such as one house has a dungeon while the other has a complete games and combat room).
  5. Have you guys tried logging out and back in?
  6. Au contraire mon fraire! You can make six gold pieces if you high alch an Okak chair. Just wondering, do YOU (the author) believe that Construction also was made with (even if only the slightest) intention to drain money from rich players? Seeing how you can purchase you way through the skill many of those wealthy players can easily get working on their dungeons and skyscrapers (of only three stories) to impress all those who might defy their all-mightyness.
  7. I can't wait for the next couple of months when we get to go into peoples dungeons and duke it out with monsters and whatnot. Also no offence to Valor or anything but his house was bare and that goes to show he was leveling and not trying to make his house the best it could be. But he understands that it's a game so that's good (I'll bet he's fixing up his house right now). I myself am building my house to it's fullest before I move on. I like to have a nice house rather than a high skill. Sooner or later I'll get some more interesting things in there and I'll build it up further, but for now it just looks good.
  8. Oh boy oh boy! Can't wait to check it out! Sparse but HUGE house. Best one I've seen all day though.
  9. You get them from your shelves and your "larder" in your kitchen.
  10. If they're going to be throwing a house party then it's they aught to have a kitchen and thus a keg and shelving for the beer glasses. Everything's there already. For me I keep stocked on Asgarnian Ale. I was hoping for the specialty ones but the best you can get is Chef's Delight which makes sense as you are working in a kitchen. I wonder if your servant will be useful to get items from your bank and then cook them in your own kitchen.
  11. Which is why I think we'll see more people merchanting Death and Chaos Runes to get cash to work on this. This new skill seems like Magic in RSC. Only the rich could afford to work on it. We'll probably be seeing alot of people stopping in the mid 50's and not carrying on (after the initial "OMG I gotta lvl up like mad!" phase) to the higher levels.
  12. Yes! Exactly! You and I are on the same wavelength here. I can't wait for about a month to go by and we have some sweet shindigs in the top Tip.it member's house, games and dungeon crawling galore! Just can't wait for that, it may be humongous lag but perhaps we could have multiple homes for the party to be going down at that way not everyone is in the same house (as we do generally have alot of people at TET events).
  13. I was hoping the Kbase had something to say about it but alas. But it would be extremely useful instead of paying a horde of gold to get 27 of them.
  14. I started out earlier in the morning and have gotten up to 20 some and I suppose I'll have to wait till later tonight to play again because it's massively laggy. It hit when people got out of school (each hour got worse and worse) and I'm assuming when borderline members (people who were thinking about becoming members but weren't sure if they wanted to pay or not) saw POH's they signed up. I bet we'll be seeing a whole lot more people joining members over the summer and thus forcing Jagex into getting some more servers. Also from what I've seen (I've taken data of this for about 1 week) From about half an hour ago to an hour and a half from now is the busiest time Runescape is active and then there is a sharp decline. So come back in a couple of hours and most people will be logged off eating dinner probably.
  15. Wow... if that's true then the price will go down so long as those with high construction are willing to let people in and use it (or maybe they're the only ones that can use the equipment in their house though I doubt it. I haven't been in anyone elses house yet).
  16. I was really happy when I saw that all of the books were there. I went f2p a while back and had to dump them all. Fortunately I can keep on going with my History of RS. Too bad it doesn't tell you from which quest it's from.
  17. This new skill is obviously a play to get money away from the merchants. With their billions of cash (2 to be exact) they can afford these things and then we'll be seeing more people boasting about their houses in their sigs and advertising events taking place in their dungeons. If someone wants to spend their fortune on the skill then go right ahead. I instead am only going to train it to thirty and then work on the rest of my skills up to sixty and then, maybe then, I'll got back and train Construction... AFTER I've merchanted a few hundred thousand from Runes. It's an expensive skill if you're not collecting and making everything yourself (who wants to pick up that many planks?)

    Pjed

It could also mean "Pile Jumped". Meaning when someone is killed by another player in the wilderness and someone else (not involved in the killing) jumps into the death pile to grab the items that dropped.
  19. Can you teach me? But I'm sure you'd have to charge. Intriguing story. It made me think about going off to the Wilderness course to train up some Agility. Very nicely done.
  20. But does the screen just suddenly turn white or are you switching between pages (i.e. you have one window for RS and one to surf the forum). I know that I will get a white screen while switching between windows and sometimes if there is information still being processed (such as many things moving on screen or things that would require large amounts of images being sent to the window) the screen will return to normal, but otherwise I go back to world select and try to get back in.
  21. Pickpocketing is really the only way to train Thieving. They're an unlimited source, there's no respawn time, and their attacks on you are negligible if you're thieving in the Marketplace of Ardougne and stealing cakes while you're at it.
  22. Wasn't there something from Simpsons with Ned and Homer blasting a garden hose at him and it freezing... Ned says "...and popsicle in my favorite flavor... plain!" Back on-topic: Looks like chronicles is picking up speed! Soon enough we'll be the dominate players on the boards thus controlling the way people look and see the Tip.it Forums! Think of what we could do, what we could make, the havoc we could cause! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *cough* Sorry about that, got carried away for a second.
  23. Get a bank pin and lock up that Phat! Do not sell it and just wait it out for a while and see if you can wait it out for the price to rise even further. But besides that if you're looking for information on what's new you should peruse the Tip.it site and check out their guides also there's a new "Kbase" which is the Runescape Knowledge base made by Jagex. The game is essentially the same except it got a face lift, a few of your old haunts may have been changed around and combat is a notch or two different than in RSC. Get your bearing in F2P before you jump back into the members world. Try earning a little cash by merchanting Death and Chaos runes. Also you could take advantage of the minimal price of "Rune Essence" and start crafting your basic elemental runes, then go off to the members world and mine "Pure Essence" and sell for great amounts of profit. Whatever you do, good luck to you.
  24. Very snazzy, wish that was there before (was it? It's very possible that no one noticed something so minute as that). How did you notice it actually? I'm very curious to find out.
  25. Guten tag! Was gibts mein freund! Sorry for any mispelling or butchering of your native tongue. Ich bin ziemlich bose mit Deutsch und ich habe kein Umlaut auf meinen Computer. Translation: Good day! What's up pal! F2P (that means free to play) is really very fun. You can do so much in F2P but it is harder than P2P (pay for play) for skills (is that really "skills" in german?) training. Runescape is a great game and I think you will have fun here. I think it is better when you do F2P first and earn a strong person and then go to P2P and play with the other "High Level" players. --Other german: I am rather bad with German and I don't have any Umlauts on my computer.
