  1. i hunt squirrels occasionally, but not very often as they're a pain to clean and cook and i won't kill them if i'm not going to eat them. also there are very few bears in missouri and we don't have a bear season anyway.
  2. lots of quotes from the boondock saints come to mind. "is it dead?" "why don't you make like a tree... and get the [bleep] out of here?" "people in glass houses s-s-s-sink ships" such a good movie. =D>
  3. well, this thread's already gone off topic enough, so I'll just go ahead and say it. If you live in India, you marry a dog 15 years later to try and make up for it.
  4. just be glad you don't have to use the english system. we have 2 units of mass, the "lbm" and "slug" lbm, or pound-mass. is the same thing as a pound-force. so one pound-force equals one pound-mass(on earth anyways), or 1/32 slugs. (assuming 32 feet per second squared for gravitational acceleration) #-o
  5. I never said that i don't enjoy killing the deer. I was definitely born with the hunter's instinct. Plus deer steaks are infinitely better than any steak you can get from Outback or the steakhouse of your choice. =P~
  6. there ya go. also, whoever said kilogram = newton was totally wrong. a newton is defined as a kilogram meter per second squared, or kg*m/s^2 mass = kg acceleration = m/s^2 therefore f = ma (N = kgm/s^2) "weight" is just a special unit of force which takes gravitational acceleration into account.
  7. So you feel it's okay to use that as an excuse to not even make an effort to improve? i fail to see how not hunting is going to make me a better person.
  8. well said, BlueLancer. i'm still waiting for more pics!
  9. before we leave, we make sure that everyone has a plan and we know where everyone's going to be. We take radios also, in case anyone decides to move, they can let us know before hand. we're very safe. I'm going to politely ask you to leave this topic and never return if you're trying to suggest that I'm(or any other hunter for that matter) less intelligent or less of a person than you are. -.-
  10. "points" are defined as the number of tines on the antlers of a deer that are 1 inch or longer. it really means nothing. i've seen an 8 pointer that i thought was more impressive than a particular 10 pointer, because the tines were much taller, longer, heavier, and had a wider spread. each deer's antlers are unique, which makes a mounted deer a personal pleasure. and slaughterhouses are not the most humane conditions to live in, i'll admit, but.... A. It's nothing like what PETA makes it out to be. PETA picks out the worst ones(which are very few in number) and makes it sound like all of them share the same conditions. not true. B. what do slaughterhouses have to do with hunting?
  11. you're supposed to bury them in Yu'biusk. I didn't try burying or doing anything else with them. also, after checking the box, you can go back to talk to the guy who makes teleport spheres and he tells you that he thinks there's basically no way to get zanik back. i'm going to be really disappointed if they kill zanik off in the last quest....
  12. finally! another picture! nice deer.
  13. Don't really feel like getting involved in this topic; but I really would like to see some evidence/statistics/etc.. supporting that statement. lol. ever seen anyone harvesting grain? that's proof in itself. granted, they're mostly mice, snakes, turkey, rabbits, and other small animals, but still. also, proof linked above me. EDIT: lol at that article, thanks, i've never seen that. brilliant work. =D>
  14. no, nobody i know wastes the deer. in fact, there are programs in place to donate venison to the less fortunate. however, it is technically not legal to sell a wild game animal that an individual harvested, since you have to have a liscense to sell food also. it's incredibly difficult to get a liscense to sell venison, and most of the venison jerky and stuff that you buy in the stores are all domesticated deer.
  15. we've had many threads like that, most of the "gun control" threads turn to hunting, it's been beaten into the ground, and no one's made any progress in promoting thier own opinion. i made this thread to get other pics and stories, and so far i've only gotten a few stories and no pics(besides mine). i know this is the off-topic forum, but dang.
  16. cut the flaming? I eat everything I kill. You can't buy this kind of meat in stores. It's all processed junk that tastes like dirt compared to a good venison steak. yeah I do enjoy killing deer and think that a nice rack on someone's wall makes a good addition to the house decoration, but I don't kill them just for fun. come on, I wanna see some more pics! I'm sure SOMEONE here had to have killed a decent buck. :anxious:
  17. honestly i think deer are easier to clean than squirrels. maybe it's because they're so big that they don't move around as much, but it's just such a pain to clean squirrels and rabbits by yourself. deer seem to skin a lot easier than squirrels too.... or maybe it's just my imagination.
  18. crossbows are legal in Missouri only for disabled people, or I think that you can get one now after a certain age(same as retirement age I think). not too sure about the laws in Georgia, but I'd assume they are similar. also if you're worried about the draw weight on a bow, get one with a real high let-off. I have a messed up shoulder and I can still pull back a 60lb bow, I just got the one with the highest let-off I could find. It doesn't take a super high draw weight to kill a deer, just to get a long shot. I personlly won't take a shot over 35-40 yards with my bow.
  19. thanks, and 13 deer bag limit.... I have like 4 archery tags too, so combined I could kill 8 deer.... I use a Remington 760 rifle, 30-06 caliber, pump action. It's deadly accurate, I've killed many deer with it. For muzzle-load season I've just got a Marlin In-line deal, not sure what model it is, it's a cheapy.
  20. the bag limit for the county I hunt in is 1 any-deer, and 3 antlerless deer. so you can kill 1 buck and 3 antlerless deer or 4 antlerless deer and still have a legal amount of deer. gun season lasts 9 days and there is an extension in december, as well as a week for muzzle-loaders. any of your firearms deer tags are legal in these extensions, but you can't get any more tags. archery rules get more complex.
  21. yeah these are the first deer i've killed all year, though it's been bow season for a few months already. i only got to go bowhunting once, and didn't see anything. I killed a doe almost before the sun came up all the way, and then that 9 pointer at about 7:45. my dad killed a buck(7pt) and a doe at about 7:30, and our hunting buddy killed a buck(8pt), doe, and button before 7. my cousin killed a button early in the morning sometime(didn't hear his shot), and my uncle killed a button late in the evening. good opening day much? \
  22. if al gore gets this i will have officially lost faith in mankind....
  23. not totally true, my g/f pays for her dinner, etc. most of the time, she gets upset if I pay for her too much. but then again, I do have to drive 2 hours to see her....
  24. How many people here went hunting this year? Missouri's firearms deer season opened this weekend, and I was tagged out by 8am on saturday. I saw a total of 14 deer, 3 turkey, and a bobcat before leaving the woods around 10:30am. here's a pic of the 9 pointer I shot at ~150 yards. post pics and stories here!
  25. honestly, i hope it does ruin merchanting, and i hope jagex does nothing about it. i hate buying and selling stuff in w2.
