Were the Atomic Attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Justified?
wikipedia is NOT a credible soruce. it's an easy way to find information, but you have to find a real source to back it up afterwards. ON TOPIC: I think the bombs were justified. you probably won't like it, but I hold the opinion that while the bombs may have taken many lives, they saved many more by ending a devastating war.

McLaren got pwned.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but it's politics. Stupid, yes, but it happens all the time, not just in racing and sports, but in real life also. If you were going to court and they didn't have an especially strong case against you and your partners in crime, you would most likely get a break in your punishment in return for selling out the others. #-o

McLaren got pwned.
Because the drivers were granted immunity from punishment in return for evidence against the team. I agree with you though, they should definitely have been docked driver points, although maybe not ADDED to the punishment. I think if I had been giving out the penalty, McLaren would have been DOCKED points in both the driver's and constructor's championship in 2007, but excluded from niether. of course the $100m fine is just, if not too low. I really do think that Ron Dennis is innocent in all this though, he seemed really caught off guard by the whole deal.

Colin Mcrae is dead.
on his website it's confirmed that both him and his son died in the helicopter crash. sad, i always enjoyed what little of the rally racing i got to see since speed stopped showing it. RIP :(

McLaren got pwned.
I'm not sure what you mean by your first comment. No, I don't think they "actively saught out the document." but I don't doubt that they had knowledge of it. Most drivers communicate with their engineers, so they will know what to expect from the car, so I'd imagine that if McLaren did make significant changes based on the information that they would notify the drivers to expect something different from the car. Either way, i'm not sure what we're arguing about. The fact is that the emails from Alonso were enough to convince the WMC that McLaren did, in fact, accept and use the illegally obtained techincal data. Here is another article detailing the story of Alonso being protected by the FIA for his evidence in the case against McLaren As for Hamilton, stories like this are the reason he irritates me so much. You would think he could at least tone down his ego long enough to stop criticizing other drivers, when he's still making several rookie mistakes himself each race.

not according to this: from what the announcer's were saying on speed today though, it seems that Alonso knew more than Hamilton did. the FIA is going to be keeping an eye on McLaren to make sure they don't punish Alonso, and if they do, there may be more penalties coming their way. personally though, I dislike Hamilton. Of course, I don't like anyone who comes into a sport, as a rookie, and acts like they own the place. He doesn't respect any of the veteran drivers, and it irritates me.

Yeah, if Alonso and Hamilton had some settings or mods to their cars that came from Ferrari, then i think they should get punished. But then again, if they didn't have a single idea about what was going on. Oh well, dang big fine. the article claims that they were "granted immunity" from penalty because of information they supplied in the case against McLaren. :shame: now, if I'm Ron Dennis, do I continue to let them drive for me next year? I don't want people who would sell me out on my team. as for Hamilton, he's not all the rage he's supposed to be. after the "Alonso-Hamilton issues," Alonso was given the right to withhold his own car settings after practice from Hamilton, and this was when Hamilton's results started suffering. Riding the success of the world champion anyone? I'm not saying he isn't a talented driver, but they're making more out of this than there is.

Religion does not lead to death, hate does..
I'm not going to lie, I don't live without hate. as much as I try, I just can't get rid of it. there is just one type of person I HATE with a passion. no, I'm not racist, sexist, whatever. I HATE stupid people. just remember, kids, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people. don't be one of them.

McLaren got pwned.
Well, the verdict is in, and basically Mclaren got excluded from the constructor's championship for 2 years and fined $100 million, but Alonso and Hamilton can still get their points in the driver's championship. What do you think of this? Personally I would have Excluded Mclaren from both the driver's and constructor's championships for only one year, or at the very least, docked some points from their drivers. The fine was probably even less than the value of the information that was transferred illegally. Some people might think this is harsh, all they did was get some information from a former Ferrari mechanic, but this was a 700+ page document detailing techincal data on the Ferrari, and I'm sure there were people who have worked nearly their whole careers testing and working to obtain that data, and to have it stolen without any reimbursement is a huge violation. Here's a link to the article, incase you don't know what I'm talking about.

trading card games
this is the reason i quit playing MTG. I believe it was shortly after Stronghold(?) came out, or roughly the time they started putting holographic colors and whatnot on the new sets. I can't really remember, but the game took a turn for the worse IMO because the new sets allowed ridiculously powerful combos and then it started to become a more "official competition" game instead of just something to play for fun. i'm not sure exactly what order these events took place, but the game lost all entertainment for me after that, and i sold all my cards to a friend for 50 bucks. (a good discount at the time) i recently acquired a green/black deck that works fairly well against another casual-fun deck, but i hardly ever get to play like that.

It's been a bad month for dogs :(
You can tell something about people who think dogs lives are more important than the safety and well being of children. =D> this reminds me of a story i saw on the news once. a dog bit a little girl in the face, bad enough to require surgery, and her dad, who witnessed the act, shot and killed the dog, which was on thier property. the dog's owners sued the man who shot the dog, and won. :wall: disgusting.

A physics question.
well, all philosophical arguments aside(simply because i hate discussing them), the scientific explanation is this: if you havent noticed, scientists like to make complicated things as easy as possible so that we can understand them better, so when time is involved, t(0) is usually set equal to 0 at the time which makes it easiest to solve the problem. so in the case of a falling object, t(0) is set to 0 at the instant the object is released, or in the case of the universe, t(0) is set to be 0 at the big bang, or whatever "beginning of the universe" theory you're investigating. in science, time is all relative to the problem. you can manipulate it the same way you can manipulate coordinate systems to make the problems easier.

A Question of Morality
the best argument i can think of for the "in-room" policy is this: it's purely objective. simple. either you were in the room at the time of the drop, or you weren't. none of this "well, i helped get there, and you wouldnt have been able to kill that one without me" stuff. that's all a matter of opinion. maybe your team would have been fine without you, maybe not. there are no "2 sides" to splitting only among the people in the room at the time of the drop. however, i'm not saying this system is perfect. i usually go with a few different teams, and we normally do something different each time. i've been on trips where we split among the people in the room and ive been on trips where we split evenly no matter what. each trip worked out well, because the people that went on the trips all agreed beforehand how we would split drops. no matter what you do, it's most important to only go with people you know and trust, because there will always be people who will try to cheat you out of drops

Macroers, blah blah blah
so im not sure i entirely understand your argument. you say the only way to get rid of macroers is to kill the gp-usd market. i understand that part. however, you said that the best way to do that is to let the macroers run wild and saturate the market with too many goods. this will most likely be the end of runescape as we know it since the legitimate players will most likely be disgusted with the amount of cheating and quit playing. however, assuming that we find a way to crash the market and keep the game running smoothly, the macroers will only come back after a while, when the market stabilizes again..... what's your solution for keeping the macroers away from the game? i'm sorry if i misunderstood anything or misquoted something, it's like 12:30 am here and i'm a little out of my mind after doing thermo homework. -.-

basketball and spawn stealing
that's a good analogy, and i feel the same way sometimes, but there are differences between spawn stealing and sharing. however, most people in the game cannot distinguish between the 2. if the area i want to use is full, i'll hop as many times as it takes me to find an empty one. but if it's a spot suitable for sharing, such as the chinchompa hunting grounds or an area with several monster spawns, i'll take sharing any day over hopping for hours trying to find a completely empty one.

Question: Least-Admirable Skill Cape
i wish i could remember who i heard this from so i could give them credit, but this wasn't my idea. however i agree with this very much. no one should be "respected" or "admired" for how much dedication they have or how long they've been playing. instead you should respect thier character(as in personality, not their rs character) and the way they play the game. the people that are nice and can carry on a meaningful conversation with me and have genuine values, aren't scammers or jerks, or are just good people in general are the people that i "respect" or "admire." as for the cape question, i propose to change the topic name to "which cape takes the most dedication/money?" that way you take out the admiration part which is pretty much a separate, subjective topic in itself. me, i've been playing for a few years, but i decided to get hunter as my first 99 since i enjoyed the skill so much. i don't expect people to 'respect' me for that achievement, and i wear the cape because it is an achievement that i'm proud of, and i do enjoy showing off the emote occasionally, but it's just a little bit of personal satisfaction, it has nothing to do with respect or admiration.

Post Your GWD Drops/Deathpiles
stay outside the armadyl lair(before you even grapple in) and there's a bunch of low level aviantese to get your kc on. there's even a safe spot for healing. we had a team of 7 people get to armadyl's boss and we only lasted about 3 kills. :anxious: i'm calling bs on that one. considering he can 2-hit anyone in the game, i'm doubting that you got lucky enough to stop eating long enough to hit him even once, much less kill him alone.

Post Your GWD Drops/Deathpiles
im going to be a smartass here, but there's only one "wave." it just comes over and over again. several of my friends died to the boss in bandos' lair, and we had a bunch of jerks who were trying to get us killed come in. i've seen Armadyl's bird hit a 75, so i can see how people can get 1 or 2 hit by them. that's why from now on, im only going to the lairs with people i trust. i guess pking teaches you how to be arrogant.

Chewed bones vs mith dragons.
i got chewed bones from my second mith dragon, made a pyre ship to complete the barbarian training, i remember getting extra xp when burying bones after that, but i can't remember getting a message saying that an item was given to me, and i can't remember getting an item...... :-k it must not have been that great

Paintball/AIRSOFT
i hate you. i want that gun, unfortunately i'm a poor college student. back when i had a job i bought a USR11 (TM VSR clone) with the intent of putting TM internals in it and having a designated sniper under stl airsoft rules, but i ran out of time/money. i still use it sometimes to play with friends, it's more than enough for backyard sniping(still has more range than any of my friends' guns) we usually play at night, capture the flag style games(using glowsticks as flags). even if you do capture the glowstick, it's pretty easy to spot the only light running, which makes the games go on for a looooong time. some nights we played almost till daylight and only 1 or 2 scores. it's a blast though. we usually play smokes allowed, because most people don't know how to use them anyway, but on the 4th of july we played "all fireworks legal" airsoft. totally unsafe, but tons of fun.

This is Weird...
regen bracelet would be used if jagex added a "bracelet" slot to the inventory instead of making it go in the "hand" slot. because everyone knows that if you wear a bracelet, that makes it impossible to put gloves on.

Farming, Construction & Hunter, Forgotten skills?
owned. :P the only problem i have with any of these skills is that Hunter(which is a dumb name, it should be Hunting) should really be "Trapping" because the only part of it that's actually hunting is the new implings, and falconry, to a degree. i was expecting all those squirrels and other woodland creatures to be part of this skill.
