  1. all the news stories ive seen or heard said that he carried 2 handguns, with multiple magazines of ammunition. i'd guess 9mm or similar Now, I'm not a fancy gun-knowing guy but are 9mm's automatic? I mean, he just opened fire on a large crowd of people ... found this. neither one of those weapons are automatic, nor can they easily be converted to automatic. however, the 9mm at least was most likey semi-automatic, and with just a little practice, can be fired and reloaded very quickly. many police officers carry 9mm handguns.

  3. yeah because the shootings in texas and columbine, just for some examples, changed so much, this one's SURE to have a huge impact on schools. our school had a fake bomb threat just a few months ago, and the most important thing the chancellor can think about is changing the name of the school.
  4. Had you lived in Virginia, rushed in early and shot the killer, you would be praised for having guns, and not consider a terriost for owning one. Here is the problem. The gun is not the killer. So why are we asking "what do we do with guns?". The problem is the people holding the guns.. what do we do with the people? ~Defender~ make rules ore severe...the US is too lenient...murderers left and right get off of life sentences from pardons...it's ridiculous yep i agree 100% but then you have cases like this, what do you do when the killer is suicidal anyway?
  5. to answer the question posed in the topic thread, no. the reason? if guns were to be banned, myself, and most other people I know, who are now law-abiding citizens who have never commited a crime in thier lives, would become criminals. and who's going to take our guns away? you?

i don't live my life based on fearing hell, or desiring heaven. i'm not even completely sure i believe either exist. however, i believe that common courtesy and genuinely being a good person benefits everyone, and i'd like to believe that most other people are too, but unfortunately, that's rarely the case.
  7. this is a very sad event, that's true, but banning guns is not the solution. a conversation in irc today stemming from this incident left me with a bitter taste in my mouth from some of the pure hate that some individuals were directing towards me simply because i own guns. I even got called a "terrorist" simply because i own guns. I own several firearms, a 30-06, a 20 gauge shotgun, and a .22 long rifle. I use the 30-06 for deer hunting only, the 20-gauge for skeet and trap shooting, and occasionally turkey hunting, and the .22 lr for target shooting and plinking. I hunt purely for food, not sport, and I practice safe shooting anytime I'm handling a firearm. How does that make me a terrorist? Should I be denied the right to use my firearms for these reasons? banning guns outright would be a huge mistake. anyone remember prohibition? ok well maybe no one remembers it but i'm sure you've heard of it. well, i can tell you right now, ban guns, and i'll be one of the rebels.
  8. separating my shoulder. after 5+ years of motocross this is the worst injury i've had. i consider myself very lucky. :o
  9. I'm saying the mainstream news is regulated by the corporation itself for maximum revenue. To regulate is to "control or direct according to rule, principle or law" (dict). I'd say the principle of staying in business applies in this case. As for the future of oil, one article states: Another article states: Scary thoughts if they are accurate! im sure he meant regulated by the government to actually report the NEWS, not popular culture entertainment, as seems to be the most important news here in the US. as for your numbers, i'd say they are probably fairly accurate, although i would say that the worlds oil supply will last at least 75 more years, especially since we are increasing our dependance on ethanol fuels slowly but surely.
  10. how do you think regular gas is made? at least ethanol is made in the US and doesnt have to be shipped millions of miles to get here. tbh there isn't one good alternative to what we already have, and believe me, it's not from a lack of effort. GM came here last year with a presentation on their hydrogen car, that they already had hundreds of millions of dollars invested in, that's still at the very least, 10 years away from full production. people expect there to be some great amazing alternative fuel that the government is hiding or something, but there isnt. the only way to truly reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to simply conserve energy, something that very few people actively do. ethanol would drastically reduce the price of gas here in the US if it were implemented on a nationwide scale, but it's unlikely to happen unless something weird happens, like iran capturing some british soldiers and throwing us into the next world war. oh wait, maybe it isn't so unlikey.... :ohnoes:
  11. yeah, it is from that story, it was one of the best stories ever. lured please. #-o
  12. there is a fence on the edge of the wildy. every time you log on, the fence reappears. you cant pass thru this fence without getting warning and your character stops, even if you are following someone, or auto following someone, as if to trade. do you really think that just because it's now against the rules it will stop? no. scamming is against the rules, but just yesterday i had someone attempt to scam me. i reported them, as usual, and went on playing. as long as you're halfway paying attention, it's not hard to aviod being scammed/lured
  13. and of course, when nothing gets done about it, the press will blame president bush. OT: E82? It's E85 here, is there a difference or is it just a typo? what does 3% difference do? 'green' fuels are also hurt by a lack of consumer intrest. they aren't interested because there aren't enough fueling stations. there aren't enough fueling stations because not enough people drive 'green' vehicles.... the vicious cycle continues.
  14. well I hope to give it a try later this week, and i've been to barrows a few times today and havent noticed any lag or anything in prayer. :-k
  15. whip please. since i'm not training str anymore(for a long time anyway), i sold my scim, and keep my anchor around for cw's, duel arena, etc.
  16. im guessing that it's not influenced by how 1337 you are, because when i got a spear drop I was nowhere near as leet as you. oh wait. im still nowhere near that. gratz anyway, the barrow brothers hate me atm :?

oh yeah, no question, trulli is much a much better driver than schumacher

William were once good when they had the big BMW money, but with Toyota engines seem bit iffy , Rosberg and Wurtz dont seem as fast as Heidfeld and the other driver from BMW. (i know it starts with Qu) Kubica. One team that continues to disappoint me is the Toyota team, even with the biggest budget in F1, R. Schumacher and Trulli still can't finish higher than mid-pack
  19. i dunno about that, the smartest people i know usually just get really wasted to deal with stress. either that, or make terrorist threats using powdered sugar as "anthrax" what a day off from classes that was. :?
  20. well first of all he said 4% not 10%, which i have no idea where he got that number, but 4% of 24 isnt even a full hour, so his math is still wrong. :?

It's actually called the Speed channel.... Speed TV it's channel 66 for me, but we have local cable that I dont know much about
  22. Well for starters, where do you think the electricity to run the hybrid cars comes from? And bio-ethanol fuel is SO unefficient. The amount of conventional fuel needed (like Petrol, etc) to use the tractor to harvest the crop, to sort the crop, to transport the crop, to create the bio-ethanol fuel, to transport the fuel, etc, MASSIVELY outweighs the emissions nd whatnot you save by using it. thank you, i'm glad someone finally said it. and for people still confused, electric cars still need to be plugged into a wall outlet, and where does that come from? most likely a coal burning power plant. something not taken into account in the "emissions" of an electric/hybrid car. also, hydrogen fuel is still so ridiculously expensive to manufacture, it's nowhere near feasible yet.

actually, JPM finished in the top 5 this weekend in atlanta, and won the busch race at mexico city(a road course) a few weeks ago. pretty impressive i'd say considering the huge differences between f1 cars and stock cars. i just cant wait to see him at bristol or darlington with 42 other cars on the track

yes, yes, yes, yes, and sort of, there are 4 different tire compounds, and bridgestone brings 2 of them to each race, and every driver has to run both sets of tires at least once in the race. to answer your other questions, alonso won last year, kimi did very well(when his car didnt break), renault got shafted(this year), coulthard is on one of the red bull teams(with scott speed), and i didnt watch the hungary race last year. oh and in the us, f1 is on the speed channel
