After all of the changes to the anchor, would you choose to use it or a dragon scimitar with a rune defender?

their was big discussion about this and we all came to the general consesnsus that the anchor was better before they nerfed it.now its the d-scimmy hands down even thought the d-long is better

Well, I killed about 20 elves with the anchor, then 3 elves with the scimitar. About halfway through the second elf I decided the scimitar is much much better....

scimmy or a whip really also i wonder if a g axe is better than the anchor

anchor ha a better special, but the scims much faster and with the option of wielding a shield, scimitar makes a better long term weapon.

since i'm not training str anymore(for a long time anyway), i sold my scim, and keep my anchor around for cw's, duel arena, etc.

It's my primary weapon now, I like it alot. My max with it is 35. :)

If they hadn't nerfed the speed, it'd be the anchor. Unfortunately, speed pulls a lot more weight than str and att bonuses, so killing the speed killed its usefulness. I'm just glad I got about 300k exp before they nerfed it the first time :D

Skimmy is better, only cus i dont feel like doing the quest to get the anchor.

The faster the better, imo.

Jagex will never be done, they love anchors. But i'd chose my abby whip with rune defender.

id choose scimmy hands down 1) because its awesomer and it seems a waste of doing mm if i dont even use it and 2) because i dont have enough of teh quests done to get anchor :)

i find the scimmy better than the whip too, i can sometimes unleash several high 20s with one compared to a whipper of equal combat rarely hiting 25+

and anchor is better for p2p imo, it hits well, has a very good spec, has 100 str bonus and is only let down by speed.

 

 

 

scimmy is best for monsters though, no dubt about it

I like scimmy better because it's faster and you can wield a rune defender with it. And the slash attacks work better against most monsters than the crush attacks.

My scimmy still hits more constant at pest control (mid 20s - low 30s)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My anchor hits high mabey once every 2 rounds (35+) and i lack zeal sometimes with it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So honestly im sticking with the scimmy.

Scimmy...I've tried both out at the duel arena many times over, and speed + defender always wins.

Scimitar, I like the speed.
