May 22, 200719 yr i actually gave up my scimmt and obby shield for anchor : its been worth it, in my opinion. i cna hit 22 now, instead of 18, and the speed doesnt seem to make a difference (to me). May 22, 200719 yr Neither, I'll stick with a whip. I'm not 99 str yet, (plan to plow ahead for that sometime), but I'm still not going to train str with the scim; I'm just going to PC it, like I did attack. Doing things the "hard" way doesn't count for anything but bragging rights, which is practically useless because I don't have anything extra to show for it.

May 22, 200719 yr In training, hitting NPC's and unarmored people; yes, scimy wins... However, when dueling or PK-ing the MASSIVE crush attack bonus (+92, with my other equipment added its +114) as well as its special that doubles your chance to hit, I'd pick an Anchor any day... Scimitar just fails too often to penetrate my opponents armor, even with a defender. It's especially hard to hit through that +82 slash defense penance torso :P Equipment stats other then strength bonuses do matter, guys. May 22, 200719 yr simple answer: At best anchor hits 20% higher than scim Scim's speed is quite a bit faster than anchor Scim attacks once every 2.5 seconds and anchor 3.5 seconds: Damage of Scim / 2.5 seconds is the damage per second from the scim Damage of anchor = 1.2xdamage of scim (for arguments sake) Damage per second from anchor: 1.2x Damage of Scim / 3.5 second = Damage of Scim / 2.92 seconds Damage per second ratio: Damage on anchor per second is 85% than scim's damage per second.
