I'm with you on this one. If I saw a movie like SAW, the pictures would be constantly going through my head days after I saw it. Days!!! You got it good, it'd be going in my head for months, even years. Does killing yourself count as "anything"? I doubt you would do "anything". Would you kill all your friend and everyone in your city with a knife while they all are unarmed and unable too harm you? Would you... get a terminal illness? breath carciogenic material and be exposed to high levels of radiation over a long period of time? I could go on and on...

But for most of them, it is their fault. You cannot always tell if a person is a drug addict or not. For some people, it is impossible to tell whether they are on drugs or not without one of those drug tests. What I'm wondering is how they can make so much money from begging? If homeless people made that much money why couldn't they dress to impress for a job? Again, how can you tell if it's their fault or not? You can't without asking a bunch of questions. Well in the USA, in my opinion, most homeless people can get a job. A few weeks prior to when they get their welfare checks, they should do some job searches, most libraries have computers so ya...They get their wellfare checks, use some of that money to buy some decent new cloths and rent a few nights in a motel. Clean up and appear at job interviews you found, try to find ones with short response times, stay in the motel so you have a delivery address (maybe a phone). Wait and if your lucky you got a job. Or in reality it pans out differently?

True. In my state, they lowered the standards of being gifted by 500%. It's complete bs. Some parents complained that their children arn't gifted, blah, blah, bs. And the state freaken listened, and lowered it, bs. In my day I didn't need that lame a** 500% decreases to qualify as gifted, now gifted means nada. Stupid parents and their stupid kids. :evil: i respect your decision and everything, but think of it this way: work hard four years and enjoy the rest of your life, or, enjoy four years and work hard the rest of your life of course, i don't know what you plan on doing, so i'm not going to make any judgments, but its something to keep in mind Pft... Comon, you know that's untrue. So after you get your (let's say) doctor's degree, you can enjoy life. Wow... What a popular myth. Get rid of it...now. How easy life is depends on many factors, if you're a doctor or (let's say) an average 8-hour employee is very different. If you think the 8-hour is hard, try working in the ER for 3 days straight? Wow really something to enjoy huh? What I'm saying is, don't believe myths. They're just a bunch of bs (although some might be partially or fully true) designed to motivate youngsters. You cut or are often tardy. 2. You disobey your teacher. 3. Your teacher sucks. 4. You have homework for P.E. class (don't laugh I had it for 2 years so far). Good for you. Better to have 75k/yr and be with your loved ones than 200k/yr and never knowing when you'll be home or what's happening since you're so busy at work. Oh, trust me, he's not going in my basement. Lol, kinda like my bro. Doesn't study, watches t.v. all day. My parents expect me to support him when I'm growing up...but the hell I'm, he doesn't do [cabbage], I pull his slack around, when I grow up, he can do whatever he wants. Well if they respect you, they will stop since you asked them too but... who knows maybe you deserve it, maybe you don't. Just because they're related doesn't mean they are similar.

What would happen if you were in a black hole? Would you still be alive if your body was torn into atoms? Is that possible? Keep in mind that you are immortal. - Well it really depends on your opinion of immortality. The one most people think of entails you being invulnerable, so you couldn't be split into atoms. - Could you be alive if you were torn into atoms? I really don't think so, well maybe 'spiritually' but still... - Oh and being inside a black hole would be a bit more complicated then being torn into atoms. A black hole is a singularity, which is essentially a particle of infinite gravity that is the size of a proton... So to be inside a black hole you are inside a proton (along with the hundreds of stars and other matter that has already fallen into it.) I really wonder what that would be like. Immortality, in my opinion, is living forever. Or you could just look it up at dictionary.com.

Because men arn't showing women favorable treatment, they are considered men jerks? or Because men are generally jerks, chivalry is dead? or Women want chivalry and equality? I'm bad at understanding confusing stuff... I think that's totally fair. From my experience of being around females, they seem to be more easily upset (emotionally) than males. In two years I have to sign up for the draft. If I'm drafted, I don't want to be hiding the the brush somewhere (waiting for the enemy) and have a woman next to me, whom was also drafted, crying hysterically because she doesn't want to be there or have to kill another person. Though I will say, there are some males who are easily upset (emotionally) but I think the way our society is, males tend to bottle up those emotions more than females and so it's more likely that you'll find a female crying about having to leave her family than a male. That's why there are training camps \ . Although training camps arn't real and you don't have to camp out in a flithy, place for a few days. But training camps don't get all the cry out of you. Someone yelling at your face 18 hours a day really make you stand up to the emotional expression. You cry more, you get yelled and more. Well here's an incentive they use to do. If you let out your emotions at the wrong time, you get shot.

We can control our greenhouse gases emissions, but then you have to get everybody to do that. Just one person stopping won't help much. True in a way. It will repair itself, like the time we found the ozone hole above the antartic, but it does so slowly. It will probably takes quite some years to completely repair the hole, and if we destroy the ozone faster than the earth can repair, well we're screwed arn't we? ..Like the SARS "epidemic"? Who even remembers that now? Seriously, I'm starting to think these things are more and more scams to sell placebo medicine and make hundreds of millions of dollars. True, some people arn't showing concern because of several epidemics that weren't epidemics. They believe this is another stupid scnario. Is not, I'm sure there are worse movies out there. But according to the time frame it is very inaccurate. Fortunately, things don't happen that fast, first of all the floods involve massive melting of ice at a fast pace even the sun can't do respective from the distance to the earth. Also the "ice", will require quick freezing right after the ice has been melted. Now look at this realistically. Will the polar ice caps suddenly melt from extreme heat, then freeze again with extremely cold temperatures? I doubt that will happen over one day, I doubt even a few years.

Point to me the equality in that please. Ah, so true. That's why I never treat my female friends any different from my male friends. I won't treat a girl especially just because she's a girl. Some people will ask you to do them a task because they're cute, funny, etc and with those qualities, they think they can "control" you. Like a child that can actually pursuade an adult to do their projects for them. Yes that's sad... If I met a kid like that I'd kick their rear. Unfortunately I already have and I regret I didn't kick their rear and get yelled at by their parents that spoil them.

Well there are some stupid people, and there are smart people. Let's not divide this into gender, let's divide this into competency. You can find a sissy man and a strong woman almost anyday. Hilary for example is not competent. You can easily tell she would not make a good president. Serious, why the hell would you blame video games for screwing up kids when it's mostly the parents fault for not giving them attention and keeping an eye on them. Well of course it works on incompetent parents or parents that don't want to admit it's their own fault (excluding the parents, when the child is really at fault for video games), which makes up some, if not most, of the parents in the USA at least. How did you think she has so much support on the issue? But I'm sure there are a lot of smart, competent women that won't screw us over, know what they're doing, etc. EQUAL MEANS EQUAL! Equal does not mean, you have to treat a woman this way and treat a man that way. If you want true equality, you will have to dump chivalry. You cannot say, oh I choose this, this, and this right, but I don't want this, this, and this to apply to my gender. What the ****?! That will destroy the equality right then and there. I agree with the part about salary, a woman should get paid as much as a man (assuming they both do the same about of work and stuff). Funniest inequality now is that people think men should pay for everything during a date. Just think that's funny \ . Let's see. Well, the men are womans husbands, friends, brothers. And it should be not alright to let them vote? Considering there dearest friends, partners, siblings are in the war? And then, only men can vote? Half those men don't even know anyone in the draft, and half do. That's bad logic, your conclusion is invalid. That is unequality. That would be saying that men are better than woman. :XD: Well in those days, they thought woman to be the housekeeper, better at "house jobs", so kept them at home. Of course that is inequal. There were also women who volunteered to be nurses, they deserve credit, others who thought they were too high and mighty to help people, and of course those who had to take care of the family while their husbands were gone. But that was the past, and this is now. To make this work we must ensure that we have as much equality as possible. We can't switch men and women to have to exact same organs, but I know what you mean so don't make a wise-crack.

Just be sure to keep all windows and doors locked or closed. Lights, or an atmosphere of there being lot of people inhabiting it, may also deter your house from being robbed. Lights on is better than lights off.

This is the problem in the world. Knowledge. People think "Oh, it's not going to happen anytime soon, it's just overrated." and they don't bother to do ANYTHING, seriously, they don't bother to change habits bad for global warming. They (the people who do not educate themselves on the matter) don't know that the effects of global warming WILL produce serious consequences in less than 50 years if we keep on going like this. Again, the best thing to do, is to educate people about this issue, then with their knowledge and support, we can get more people until we have a majority to CHANGE the ways we operate.

Sorry if my memory failed me, I just recall the character Belgarath from that book series very clearly. I read maybe 1 or 2 of those books, they were pretty entertaining and well written. And since you would have to choose between immortality and invulnerability, actually the best way to dominate the world is time manipulation. You could go a thousand years ahead in time and only age a few seconds. Just think of the financial opportunities, by that alone you could own the world and ruin the entire economy by going back and forth in time. 8-) Yes, but you can probably only keep it up for 50 years of your life or so. Just pointing out that even if YOU stop time, YOU still age even if everyone doesn't. That's like wishing for tons of money, cause you know which stocks to invest in etc. but you also know who to trust and that kind of stuff.

Oh yes right, I forgot. I was thinking of general liquids when refering to water. Usually a liquid's volume is reduced when frozen, but water is special in that it expands instead. All the oil one could ever need would be on a planet, but if you care for your environment, people, and less about money, then oil amount would not matter. =D> I very much agree. Heh, ~5'10" and weighing in at 95 pounds. 16 aswell, I just can't put on weight. :P I ate about half of a cake which had an ingredient list matching the length of the Bible and didn't gain squat. I'm always baking myself cakes, muffins and brownies and yet I gain nothing. I also don't exercise alot, I only play golf. (Although... it's more exercise than meets the eye.) Now you're exagerating about the cake. Maybe you are lying about your weight? Maybe it's 950 lbs, not 95 if you ate a cake with those kinds of ingredients, unless they're really small servings. I honestly get offended when people assume everyone is lying, sure, some people could be exaggerating, but I for one have no reason to lie on something so trivial as weight and height. Who's to say anyone's lying, this is the internet you can write what you like, and no one can prove against it if they do not know you in person. Hence there is no need to accuse everyone is lying, you have no evidence for or against that argument. I on the other hand am worried about so many people being underweight. At 16 I was like 190 pounds, and I was almost bony, well not quite, but almost. But people have different physiques. Yes this is also concerning me. Either the people are big fat liars, or they have problems with weight. Problems with weight is commonly associated with being fat, but being skiny is also very serious, especially if you have a fast metabolism. For those of you that are underweight, you better eat up, a lot! It's important to keep your weight in the normal zone (although some people may just be fine as is, whether skinny or fat) or you could suffer some serious health consequences. Being underweight is NOT a good thing, especially to those that are lying to impress others, it's better to be in the normal zone than underweight almost anyday.

You're thinking of invulnerability, not immortality. Invulnerability in being immune or not effected much by physical damages. Immortality is living forever, but you are still affected by the aging process. Immortality is not eternal youth. If you're eternally youthful and you get cancer, you'll still die. If you're immortal and you get cancer, well let's just say you won't be eating, moving, thinking, or much of anything anymore, but you'll still be alive in a way. I'm sure you'll be alive long enough for the concrete to just fade away xD Sounds like a fun way to spend a millennium or two. :) But physical strength and immortality would require two wishes, not one. And not a good idea to wait for concrete to fade. They'll just drop another one on you every millenium of so. You'll be stuck in there for the rest of your life!!!, what a way to spend it... After some thought, I think I would be able to discover every possibility. For example, if I got a F in bio instead of an A, I want to see how my life will turn into. Likewise if I wanted, let's say, to be a billionaire, I can see what exactly I have to do to get there (or around what I have to do).

Problem with global warming is sunburn and floods because ice takes up less volume than when it is melted into water. If we keep on going like this the process might be irreversible, but hope that doesn't happen in my generation. Stop using so much personal transportation(carpools excluded). Try using public transportation. Cut down on using gas. Don't use certain chemical that affect ozone etc. No one wants to listen because it's more convient to use personal trans, or I don't feel it yet, etc. Just bunch of procrastination. I hope we get those hydrogen cars running soon and find effective ways to store liquid hydrogen, etc. But right now, just gota wait and see how fast we die.

I asked my friend: If you had one wish and couldn't wish for more wishes, wish for things that makes more wishes, or things that makes more things(a robot that can make anything or something similar), what would you wish for? My friend said immortality (not eternal youth). So here's my question, immortality and undying. Is it still possible to live if your brain has been rotted, and the rest of your muscls, and is gone? Since the brain contains your conscieness and movement is just contraction of muscles. So you'd actually be like a soul floating in an unmovable skeleton. Questions comments?

Yes, I've experienced that. When I moved to this place, not going to say, I got the option of chosing which school I wanted to go to under their "School Choice Program." I couldn't go to a predominately white school because since I'm white, it would up set the "racial balance." The only other school I could go to was a 60% African American school. (I'm not racist.) But, I preferred the former school because I felt I might receive a better education. In fact I was correct. The latter school is what I was forced to go to, the teachers do not know what they are doing, and they are constantly getting sued and the state government is threatening to take control due to their lack of educating to the state standards. In fact, I should bring this up with some court. I could easily sue them for violating the first amendment because you cannot descriminate against color. They basically told me I could not go to the first school I mentioned just because I was white, which is insane. Then go ahead and sue them for all they're worth. Seriously, there's too much steriotyping about race. People are given advantages simply because they are a minority race. Skin color should not affect their thinking abilities, physical characteristics, etc. But places want a diverse group, so an average minority, may get a position in a job or other, that an overachieving majority may not get. Economic factors are better indicators than looking at peoples' skin colors. If you have to opportunity to pursue a good education (say your parents were rich and willing to spend on sound education), you get average grades, but you are a minority race, I don't think you should be given an advantage because you have already had so many.

Try eating meals every 3-4 hours (except when you're sleeping, don't wana choke now do you), that should be around 4-5 meals a day, or try some high calorie milkshakes. Remember, fat gives you the highest calories/gram.

Either way the system won't work. If you have affirmative action, it's reverse racism towards the majority race. Businesses are supposed to be equal opportunity anyway. If there is evidence an employer rejected an equally qualified person based on race, I believe that's a lawsuit. There's a difference between having equal opportunity and having required quotias to fill. With quotias, businesses and universities are filled with people who don't deserve their position, and are underqualified, and basically dilute the quality of the worker/student. If you're not qualified, you don't belong in the position in the first place. It makes no sense for an unqualified person to take the spot of a qualified person. If they have that supposive glowing inner talent that's being suppressed by their race, they should be able to compensate by being able to rise above that in the first place. I'm assuming that's the reason they're hired. That they're able to move ahead once they're given the opportunity. But enough with that. I'm wondering what else besides job and university options were taken away? While I completely support removing affirmative action in general, I was told that free vaccines for women were also taken away? That part of the proposal I wouldn't necessarily agree with. I'd just like to know more about that, since from what I did read I heard nothing of. The people that looked at this thread probably only saw the cover, and didn't bother to open up the inside of the book and read that. Promotes diversity? Nullify a bosses power to choose employees based on certain characteristics? Ok you're right it does do those things. But does it do these? Giving jobs to more qualified people, even if they're majority race. Promote effectiveness in tasks done by people who got in because of their race, but are unqualified? So let's say Harvard was getting ready to accept applications. Hypothetically: On one hand, you have an African American, 4.5 GPA average, President of his/her school, on the Crew team, and spent over 500 hours doing volunteer work. Let's say on another hand you have an Asians, 4.0 GPA, President of his/her homeroom, and spent only about 300 hours doing community service, but was one of the best to enroll. Harvard, in a way, must meet a race balance or risk being called a "racist school" even though they might not be. They are short on Asian students, and have a lot of African Americans. So then to not be called racist for having a low amount of Asians, they give the Asian student a little leeway (although in real life it might not be "that" much of a difference) It's better to play a smaller role than that of a bigger one. Tell me what's worse, a business with only 3 different races(just an example, could be more or less) that can achieve the task set on-hand and more. OR A group with one of every single race (improbable but not impossible), but some are underqualified for the job but were the highest in their racial class. I'd pick the second.
