  1. I have to do this project involving 10 ways to stop racism along with a picture to go along with it. I just need ideas, pictures are nice but I think I can draw a decent one by myself. I got... 1. Laws against racism(unclear idea) 2. school diversity 3. Afirmative action 4. help people understand racism I just put w/e I could think of up there. Arg... Can't think of more my brain is melting, and it's too early. Please don't think of something that's very complex to draw, as my art skills are lacking.
  2. i believe that people are at least entitled to being born without life-altering/threatening illnesses. Well if you believe in God, God will think differently, he can do anything he wants and you puny humans can't stop him. did it ever occur to anyone that god himself is a sinner? he flodded the world, right?, made the plagues, consequently people were murdured. Surely he knew this, or he wouldnt be god, right? he murdured people... :-k last time i knew, that is a sin. u rekon those people who died in the flood went to heaven? But what if God has the right to give and take away life, and the wisdom to know when it is appropriate or necessary to do so? If so, He's merely exercising what is within his right; that's not a sin, is it? Yeah, God made us, and God can kill us. If God wants to be sadistic, kind, unfair, mean, God can do w/e he wants. The world was only perfect for a short time. When Adam and Eve sinned, an imperfect world began. God is a loving God, but He also judges his creation. God loves every human, but He is the antithesis of sin, which He hates. The whole reason for the flood was to take the ungodly people from the earth, and Noah, who was a follower of God, was spared from death. Bit off-topic but wouldn't we all be totally screwed up if only Noah and a few other people survive. The only way the animals and the humans could survive was incest. So why arn't we screwed up? or maybe we already are? That was a direct commandment from the God you believe in. How does he not hate like humans do? But even God can't escape logical fallacies. If God exists and is almighty, he still cannot create a stone so big even he himself can't lift it. If he does, he didn't create an unliftable stone. If he doesn't, he simply isn't capable. And that's just one example. God hates humans sinning so he kills them. Oh and I remember something from the Simpsons about this. Could God make a burrito so hot, that he himself could not eat it?
  3. Mac's are more expensive. Less bang for the buck IMO. Well I saw like $400-500 desktops after rebates. Good enough for rs. You don't need a dual-core processor unless you are going to run another strenuous task along with runescape. I prefer an Athlon processor, on runescape, processor speed seems to not really matter much, so I think a 2 GHZ or higher is good enough. Then you have the RAM, you can play on 256MB if you only run rs, but I suggest 512 just in case. Hard drive can also be low, if you don't plan on uploading/downloading much, a 60 GB or 40GB may be enough. The graphics card is also not really needed. A 64MB int graphics definitely works, but it sucks, you can probably go down to 32. Given minimum: 2GHZ, single processor with no multi-tasking tech 256 MB RAM 40GB HD 16-32 graphics (dunno about speed) This and probably some other features will cost maybe $300 after rebates if you know where to shop. Half the price of the PS3 lol. Missed a bunch of other stuff I think but w/e.
  4. Why do people believe Santa exists? And hypothetically, if he does, why is he so mean? I guess it's fair to assume he exists and tell kids that's the case, and portray him as a friendly character in movies... Why he only brings present to spoiled, western children who already have everything plus more and are whining about not getting their upgraded 40gb iPod, instead of kids in third world countries who are starving to death and would appreciate a bit of candy and a doll is beyond my understanding though! Maybe Santa is a (what's that word for favoring affluent people?). He like rich people more than he likes the poor people in third world countries, hmm I don't know why. Maybe he has to steal from the rich people to pay his elves to work 24/7/365.25(or 364.25), while Santa sits on his jolly old butt for 24/7/364.25. That old piece of...well yeah. Yeah, the "Santa" idea came from St. Nick. Maybe they like putting Santa in an isolated area so no one would go find out if it's true.
  5. Wait...are you saying 'legally' blind people can see? So I guess my uncle is illegally blind because he cannot see at all? Being legally blind is have your vision past a certain point where even with the best glasses, you can't see very well. I forgot what it is though, I think it's like 5000/20.

  7. hey, man, summer is great in Aus.... when you have air-con. :P  but a few months ago, during winter, i was sick. now i try to take vit C regularly (fights bacterial/viral infection [not a cure, makes the cold pass quicker by helping the body do what it regularly does]) Vitamin C doesn't do that. Vitamin C is needed for normal development of connective tissue, including those holding teeth, would healing, and use of iron. So the worst that could happen is your teeth being loose, may have a place which bacteria and viruses can get in, or slow healing of wounds. Iron doesn't usually have anything to do with bacteria or viral infection. So the only thing I see here is to have less time exposed to infections when you get injured. I use to get colds about 2-3 times a year, but now with stress, and my brother not bothering to take preventive measures against infections, I probably get sick 3-6 times a year. It sucks.
  8. That's a factor too. Worry leads to stress, stress leads to a decreased immune system, so yes that's right, but after you factor in getting the daily vitamins and nutritions you need, being stressed and having a healthy diet, etc. is probably better that not worrying about it.
  9. Just give her w/e you were planning and say if she needs help, you'll be there for her.
  10. Yes, that's like asking for a few sucessful coutries. Jk. But if you really get all that stuff I'm so jealous.
  11. But put yourself in the parents' shoes, when you (if you do) became a parent, wouldn't it be nice to have a cute little robot bidding your will all his/her life? Tell him to get good grades, check. Make a million and give half of it to daddy. Check. You are right though, most "smart" people only study because they've been brainwashed by their parents. I have to disagree partially though because when I was in school I did meet some truly smart people who studied and were good at it because of their own motivation. Yeah I know, they think. Good grades->good job-> lots of money But they don't think: to make lots of money, spend time away from family->no knowledge about familiy->kids break off with you->divorce->sad... Not saying this will happen, just that some people don't recognize that if they focus too much on one aspect, they grow blind and may damage/hurt others.
  12. Things in this post I put in above, my bad.
  13. Yeah favoritism. Every company should like make its own test to prevent "dumb-students-not-learning-anything-while-getting-good-grades-itus". But then cheating, other favoritism and a lot of other stuff. Don't worry, the sleep deprivation will be the new epidemic of the future. Average life expentencies will drop, the search for the cure is on! Yeah! Why didn't I stay up till 4 AM every night and only get 4 hours of sleep? Why did I decide that sleeping 8 hours was better than studying all night? Whyyy!!?? What good is my health now!? ...Screw that! My elementary school years were the best!!! I just had to finish homework, attend class, and no grade pressure. I loved it. I could sleep at 9P.M. or earlier EVERY single night (stayed up till 10 P.M. because I played my Nintendo, first one). Then the great thing was my fifth grade camping trip. I freaken loved it. 3 days, spending your time with your classmates. And the food was hella good too. We got three good meals a day,(on weekends I only got 2). All for $100-150 ish I think. I loved it. 8th grade we just went for a one-day trip... too bad no camping, but they you worry about the boys and girls sneaking out to do who knows what. Sucks...
  14. What grades you get?
  15. I thought commiting suicide was a sin and a one-way ticket to hell. If you beleive in that. Although when you are feeling close to suicide, Dante's Divine Comedy 2 will pull back the beleiver. The whole goal of suicide is to escape existance. If we eternal exist in an afterlife it would be out of the frying pan and into the fire. Really? I thought it was emotional pain. Once you're in heaven the pain is gone, replaced by bliss or something. Then you work shifts to sing besides God, being St. Peter's assistant, etc. I was kidding on last sentence.
  16. duh artard why else would they make fun of it This confused me too. They mean r-tard, not artard. What's the point of just adding the e, seems stupid to me.
  17. Starcraft original CD to replace one I lost THREE YEARS AGO that my parents said they would find it. WELL THEY DIDN'T AND I'M NOT WAITING ANOTHER THREE F***ING YEARS FOR THEM TO FIND IT. Yes I'm that pissed off. What I really want, is another new computer or laptop. 4 people sharing one desktop is BAD. No space or stuff. Although I'm hoping for another desktop, we don't have anywhere good to put it until my mom clears out her junk. We have ads that are three years old just lying on the floor. Jeez, just spend one freaken day to clean the entire thing. I'd do it myself but then she'd consider me an organizer and give me more chores, which I don't get paid for, to do. And I'm not sure what junk she still wants to keep. Bit of a rant... A laptop would be a good spacesaver, convinent, can be used on smaller areas, beds and stuff. But we'd need quite a cable for our wired router, don't like wireless. And I'm really worried about my stupid little brother, I'd still prefer the desktop over the laptop so he can have the new one, but I'm afraid with the common sense of which he has none will do something stupid. He might smuggle it to school to show off him new friends, and very likely, 1. damage the laptop 2. gets stolen 3. he goes stupid and forgets the laptop at school and someone else decides to take it. He runs around the house with the laptop and "acidentally" damages the laptop, acidentally jumps on the laptop, brings it everywhere with him so he does no work at all and just plays games. I think that's it. So basically, SC disk and a desktop or a laptop(hopefully with a decent processor and at least 512 mb ram + some other stuff).
  18. Link doesn't work.
  19. Well emptying your entire saving to buy something optional instead of what you "need", is not a good idea. Just worried the church might dig itself into a deep hole of debt (though I doubt it, definitely some church members who know a good bit about financing), which they can only make enough to pay the interest of the loan. It was my fault in the beginning to assume that your church did not receive a lot of money from donations and would be unable to pay off the loans.
  20. Too much homework is bad for you. Too little is bad for you. I hate school mainly because it has so much homework!!! Usually I only get 6 hours sleep, and homework is worth very little of a person's grade usually. And I hate tedious homework. Anything that's like, write an outline of this chapter, and make sure to include your thoughts on another page with the same number of pages as your outline. I mean, who the hell thinks. Certainly not me.
  21. Failing at an attempt to go super sayian after I realize I'm in my dreams and have some control over my actions.
  22. I thought commiting suicide was a sin and a one-way ticket to hell.
  23. ...What the hell... Maybe they should pay back their debt before opening more locations. Maybe helping people is more important than money? Have you never bought something on credit? The point of it is normally so that you can incremently pay it off, and still have money to do other things. For instance, I have a loan out for a car that is being paid off. In June, after the car payment was made, I bought a new computer. Should I have not bought the computer because there is still more to pay on my loan, even though I am already making the regular and needed payments on my car? You appear to know very little about finances... In this church's case, it could pay off $10 million dollars in a year - but why do that when you could instead make regular and smaller payments on a loan, and then do other stuff with other finances it has? The opportunities to help people exceeds the money it might have at certain times, but because of credit and responsible spending, a balance can easily be achieved. I was talking about interest mainly. That 500 thousand dollar interest collected(maybe more depending where you live and which bank you're borrowing from, my area charges up to 10% APR so that's $1 million) could help a lot of people, unless your church doesn't get charged for interest. But I suppose the money is needed ASAP. And I was unaware that your church could pay off $10 million in a year. Don't expect church's too have that much funds, unless they're big, huge numbers of them, etc. Oh and about the car thingy, it depends what kind of loan you have. If it's set monthly payments, you only have to save about 3 months of the car payments and you can buy the computer. You can't pay extra on the loan anyways.
  24. Or just how weak game straps are. The video where the guy throws the controller into a wall shows how thin it is, probably no thicker than some dental floss. The need for the strap at all is due to being uncoordinated. Why can't you just hold onto the remote without letting go? Gettin' sweatty? :P Pause game, wipe down controller, rinse your hands in cold or ice water, and resume playing. Really how hard is that?
