  1. mine most likely goes and visits tip.it. hey, someone has to increase my post count... wait a minute... what if... right now...? :ohnoes:
  2. yeah, theres a few different things you can get from kebabs. you can get the amazing kebab, which heals you alot, restores your energy, and/or increases a skill by a couple of levels. you can get a normal kebab that heals you a few hp and thats about it. and you can also get the infamous bad kebab that will hurt you, poison you, take some energy away, or lower a skill. thats why its always such a gamble when you eat a kebab :ohnoes:
  3. shh! your not supposed to know that. but since everyone can now figure out why it does that, i may as well go and blurt it out thoughtlessly. that movement is an antimacro system at work. as you play, the whole game, minimap, viewpoint, and everything else, shifts, turns, and moves arounby just mere pixles at a time. this is used to counter certain macro systems that dont count on the color their clicking, but rather, the position of the cursor on the game screen. the way it works is like so: a macro program is set to go to point A, click, wait a time, click, wait a time, then go to point B, and click again. its set to repeat this over and over for as long as it can. as it does that, the game shifts the viewpoint a bit over time. eventually, the macro program isnt clicking on what it was set to do and either messes up something, or completely stops working until the user comes back. of course, most macro programs now use color recognition, so that method is fairly outdated, but jagex still keeps it in place to continue to fool those who may look to old tactics for new ideas.
  4. hi, its so nice that you can take the time to read all, what, 20 posts that came before yours? if i may, let me direct your attention to post number 16. see, im happy having my combat level where its at. im high enough to be at respected a bit by the low levels and low level enough not to be challenged to much by anyone. i love hearing about all these hardcore runescape fanatics that are all like "man, youve been playing for more than a month and your combat is stillnot above level 45? noob!" ill enjoy the game my way, thanks.
  5. moss giants look ugly now? well how beautiful would you look if you had a living beard, were hulk-green, and had all kinds of nature existing on your body? moss giants are ugly cause their moss giants. i havent seen the lesser demons, personally yet, but, since when did they have to be dragon human hybrids? why couldnt they look like the hunter berzerk, the guardian, the wraith, the cyberdemon, or the mancubus? those are all bosses from the doom 3 series, with exception to the wraith and mancubus. any of those couldve been a base model for the lesser demon, but jagex decided to make the lessers the way they look for a reason. maybe the lessers are lost, tortured souls of departed npcs, or maybe the souls of other monsters that have been killed in battle. maybe their zamoracks minions, built in his image to instil fear within the hearts of all who gaze upon them... or gross them out, either way, you know?
  6. wow, that was a quick responce... ...anyway, it always did puzzle me why people were always so angry with jagex for not updating some section of the map, or giving a better look to this or that, or whatever. theyre working on it, and i think that the work theyve done so far is really cool. on the subject of macroers, they develop right along side jagex. as jagex develops systems to fight them, new macros come out to fight the systems. its a viscous cycle.
  7. wow! i just read the behind the scenes for september and this sounds interesting. "The way we use sound in the free and members' games will be getting another massive boost from the inclusion of area sounds. These area sounds add a new level of immersion into our game world, with waterfalls growing louder as you walk towards them, trees with birds and animal sounds in them, bubbling fountains, wind whistling through the mountains, the sound of the sea lapping against the shore and mysterious howls haunting the peaks of the Wilderness. It really does add a new dimension to the game, and we have enjoyed developing them immensely." so it seems that we will be able to hear sounds in proximity to objects that make sounds. i, personally, cant wait to be able to hear that! i always loved fishing in catherby and listening to the music, which sounds like waves lapping up on the shoreline. ive always wanted to know how loud the waterfall from the waterfall quest was, or how hard the winds blow through the deserts and mountains alike. and it would be really cool to actually hear the blobs of lava falling down upon you as you recharge your prayer in the wilderness' east chaos temple. so whats your opinion on this?
  8. Are you kidding me? I just hit my two year mark and I am at lvl 87, barely. No skills in the 80's, the reason why is some people dont play as much as others. Well with my friend list it is just a ton of TIF people and I have a couple people that are from my school but one got hacked, one lost the pass, one left, and the other is still on. It is easy to make friends, you just gotta talk. big difference between lvl 65 and 87... =; meh, not really. i dont play all the time. maybe an hour a day, if im lucky. there will be some days where ill be on for three or four hours, and sometimes ill go for a week without being on. mostly, my skills are at the level they are because id go and do an activity for fun, not for levels. the only time ill ever seriously level a skill is for a mission with a big reward, or because i want to reap the benefits of that higher skill level. for example, i recently got my construction from about level 22 to level 42. i did this A. becuase i wanted a nicer house than the shack i had, and B. because because i was trying to achieve a skill level of 50, but i got bored, like i usually do when i try to level a skill. a short attention span isnt always a good thing. at least all my levels are pretty even. i cant keep on one thing long enough to get it much higher than the others. :P
  9. hmm... i got mine from an ardougne guard, so i suppose itd be level 1 then. i know it wont be level 3, though, so at least theres that.
  10. im doing one now and its giving me coordinates. i hear that the level 3s are very hard and may result in having to fight a hard enemy. what i need to know is how can i tell what level the clue scroll is?
  11. let me first say that this is a long post, and that im not in any way complaining, ranting, or suggesting that anyone play the same way i do. im writing this to see how everyone else socializes and to get their opinion on socialization in runescape when i first began playing runescape, i tried to make a few friends. after all, i didnt wanna be all alone through my adventures. i added a few aquantences to my friends list, and we did some quests, a bit of training, and some joking around. for a while, all was good. after a few days, i ran into my first beggar. of course, i didnt know anything of scammers, beggars and the like, so i happily traded him my hard earned iron plate and watched him add me to the ignore list and walk away. i was devastated. so as i walked north from falador, with my full iron, minus an iron plate, but with a brand new steel plate that another of my friends was so kind as to make me, towards goblin village, i saw a guy standing near a tree, shouting for someone to help him out. now, being the nice guy i still was back then, i agreed to help him, and off we went to the chaos temple for some zamorack wine. i considered myself extremely lucky to open the door long enough to run out and get away from the horrible monks, and as i walked down through falador, i saw a person offering a free armor trimming. i know, i know, i must sound like a complete and utter noob to you by now, but this was about 3 days into my career as a scaper, and i hadnt heard anything of any of these scams. anyway, long story short, the guy got my steel plate and iron legs. it was then that i decided that i did not know enough about this game. it was at this time that i found tip.it, and i began my research. i delved into quest guides, skill guides, and maps and learned my way into the game. i absorbed all the knowledge i could and strived to be the one who never had to ask for help. i began with mining and smithing and made a few dozen k and made some armor. i began runecrafting and increased my mage level by myself. i deleted all the friends on my friends list, after figuring out that they all wanted to scam me. after all my research, all my reading, and all my observations, i decided that this game could be best played by myself. after all, i didnt have to type unless i wanted to, i didnt have to guide anyone, and i didnt have to withstand beggars and scammers. now, its two years later, and i feel im a better person for all of it. ive got a combat level of 65, and im fairly good with most of my skills. i havent been scammed out of anything worth more than a few k(anything less than 1k in value is trivial to me by now) in about a year and a half, and im pretty happy. the only people i have on my friends list are my other family members, and a few tip.iters that i see sometimes, as well as anyone who im trading with, but those are only temporarily on there. my ignore list isnt that long, either. most of the names on that list are more than a year old and in need of deleting. my point is, i dont feel the need to rely on anyone in this game. if i wanna talk with someone, i go and fish, or train in a crowded place, or find people in other areas. why, just the other day, i had a nice conversation with a couple of rangers at the moss giants near the gnome stronghold. sure, i still find the random scammers, beggars, and people who are out to annoy, but since ive learned that i dont need to rely on people, its very easy for me to ignore them and move on. sometimes, i wonder how people can feel the need to socialize so much on this game. so anyway, yeah, thats my story. sorry it was so long. but i suppose im writing it to see what your opinions on socialization and interaction in runescape are.
  12. why oh why did you triple post like that? its completely worthless and spammy. anyway, on topic, i think its an interesting idea in that its novel and different, but i dont think its anywhere near worth being made into a seperate skill. it maybe an interesting thing to see it as a subskill, though. for example, the perfumes and deoderants that you can make with herblore that lower the price of items and serices you buy, or the toothbrush you can whitle with the fletching skill. or maybe the preening mirror you can make with the smithing skill, or the bathtub and sink you can make for your bathroom using the construction skill. i dont think id like my character to be walking around with green wavy stink lines and fungus flowing off of me...:uhh::-X
  13. i for one think there should be more varieties of ranged armor. i mean, you have all the metal armors, crab armor, dagannoth armor, and all other kinds of armor for melee, and we have various varieties of robes, capes, and hats for mages as well as mystic, splitbark, and others. a couple more colors of dragon hide would be cool. we have green at level 40, blue at 50, red at 60, and black at 70. if we had maybe white at 90, we could put a new one at 80, or maybe use metal dragon hides for the 80 level requirement. i for one would like to see a clear dragon hide that you can dye whatever color you want. imagine people walking around in purple dragon hide, or orange, or any other color. thatd be cool.
  14. not reall sure you need any alcohol you sound pissed already... he he try making some worm battas for any younger siblings birthday mwahahah hmmm.... my sisters 17th birthday is coming up in a couple of months... i suppose that batta dough is mostly like pastry dough, so i may be able to cook something up... and to all the people who say i play to much runescape: go out there and try it for yourself! go to a bar and teach them how to make a blurberry special. go make tangled toad legs for all your friends for lunch. go to a brewery and special order some dragotter for your next big occasion. if people have never heard of it, you can generally make them think its very high class. as far as everyone in clifton hill knows, the short green guy is the most popular drink in my hometown, brought on by a joke played at a holloween party. the lesson there: people are gullible.
  15. wait... how did this get into runescape discussions and suggestions? 0.o oh well... i guess its better than having it locked. im thinking next ill have to try out either the blurberry special, of which ill kepp the name, the drunk dragon, which ill also keep the name but replace the dwellberries with blueberries, or the wizard blizzard, which ill probably call the mind bomd or something(after wizards mind bomb). hey, i dont wanna sound like an uber nerd when i order, now do i? :-w:-$
  16. warning: this post contains the subject matter of alcohallic drinks within runescape and the possibility of their consumption in the real world. do not attempt to mix, consume, or procure any alcohalic drinks unless you are of legal age to do so well today is my 20th birthday,*listens to obligatory shouts of "happy birthday" from people* and last night i went out to canada to celebrate. i went to a few bars and after a few drinks i figured "why not? lets see..." and i walked up to the bartender at each of these bars and very casually asked "hey, do you guys have the 'short green guy'?" the bartenders would all look at me like i had one to many and cautiously ask "never heard of it. how do you make one?" so i proceeded to explain to all of them how to make a short green guy from memory. now granted it didnt turn out quite right because they didnt have anything resembling equa leaves(which i would equate to any sort of mint leaf in real life), but after substituting in a packet of sugar, me and my friends all agreed that it was actually quite a tasty drink! so ive made a bet with myself. im gonna see how long it will take to make the short green guy a new fad around clifton hill! of anyone of you want to try one, and are 19 or over, stop on by clifton hill, more specifically, the wild mushroom(i like that place the best. they use a bit more lime than all the other bars to make it a bit sweeter), and have a drink to the short green guys who brought this wonderful drink into runescape. now, for all of you who can legally do this, if the bartenders dont remember how to make one, just give them this recipe: 1 shot vodka, 3 shots lime juice. mix and pour over 1 icecube into a glass, add a slice of lime to the rim, and one once of sugar(if you bring your own mint leaves, use those). stir the sugar into the drink, and enjoy. ...i think next time i may try the blurberry special...
  17. for me, its a tie between the mysterious old man, and... uhh.... no, wait, i really hate him the most. yeah.
  18. lets see... names for a nite... hows about sir gery sir pent sir loin sir gento (like the cheese brand sargento, get it? :P) sir real sir face sir cull sir cumference the list goes on. im sure youll find some name you like. :)
  19. well, you see, what im trying to do is figure out if i should sell steel bars or steel arrows to make some cash. i can make both and i know that the materials for steel bars cost ~500gp while the bars sell for ~600gp. i also know that steel arrows would sell for ~30gp while arrow shafts sell for ~5gp and feathers sell for ~10gp. this would mean that the arrow heads should sell for ~15gp each if i want to break even. but that of course would be assuming that i would be buying all the materials for the arrows, which i most likely wont. id probably cut all the shafts, but maybe buy about half of the feathers. the problem comes from the steel. now, i know that the steel bar itself would make me the most profit, at around 100gp per bar, while the arrows would actually equal out to be a loss if i buy all of the materials individually. i can mine most of the iron and/or coal on my own, i suppose, but im just considering all of my options. i suppose in the end, id make my own heads, and buy the shafts and feathers. this would then bring me the greatest profit, or double the gp per item, while the steel bars would bring me only 6/5ths gp per item. the only decision id have to make is whether id want to spend the time mining and smelting and smithing all those arrow heads, or just smelting the bars...
  20. Only time i ever crafted in runescape was getting 31 for lost city then the rest bowstrings :) lol i know that feeling. practicing in a skill simply to be able to do a quest. the crafting guild has some silver in it, and if you have the agility to use the shortcut under the falador wall, its even easier to do. other than that, use the tip.it mining sites page to find a location best suited to your needs. im not exactly sure if theres a better location to mine silver then there as i havent needed to in a long while.
  21. i realize that there is a board for buying and selling ranging supplies, but i have searched through it and have not been able to find the price of steel arrow heads anywhere. does anyone know a good price for them? i would assume about 10gp per head, but i wanna know if im cheating myself or others by marking them at that price. thanks! :)
  22. he doesnt do much in f2p world, but he does offer a fun off topic glance at his life. you can talk to him about why he robbed the bank, and if you were around before they had updated it and put all the cool stuff in it, youd notice the difference between then and now. until you do the swan song quest, he doesnt do much else in p2p other than send you on odd tasks in exchange for random trinkets.
  23. *ignoring the hilarious, but off topic, posts about grammer and spelling* do yourself a favor. look up the OoC, or the Order of the Cabbage. ever wonder why people collect seemingly useless items? theres your answer.
  24. you noob! you obviously didnt take into account that... that... ehh, whatever, im just messing with ya :P ive only played for around two yers or so now, so i dont know of these "glorious old days" of which everyone speaks. for me, theres the glorious old days of before easter rings came out, or zombie heads... :-w
  25. lol to those who were confused by "garden tool", what does santa say? he doesnt go "garden tool, garden tool, garden tool!" thats for sure :P anyway, thats an interesting list. ive actually never really thought about it. now im actually going to pay attention to it and see what i can come up with \
