  1. Just wondering, Is English your primary language? Anyway, are you saying that untradeable items can't be put into note form? Or that you can't get more than 1 of an untradeable item? I'm just trying to understand what you're saying...
  2. Huh? What are you talking about? You are joking right? The breath causes more damage than they could if you were wearing a rune kiteshield. You did see that I wrote "...when not fighting dragons" didn't you? Otherwise, what are you talking about? Well, if you put the shields in note form then you can easily get more than 28...
  3. Yeah, the Duke of Lumbridge will give you as many as you want. The trick is that you must have started the Dragon Slayer quest first. If you want to get more than 1 then you can't have any already in your bank or be carrying one. So, to get more than 1 shield, withdraw in note form all shields allready in your bank and then go to the Duke. Then drop all shields (noted or otherwise) on the ground and talk to him. He will give you another shield. Drop it and repeat. You have about 1 minute to pick up the shields before the dropped shields become visible to other players. Btw, the dragonfire shield is actually about as weak as an Iron Square shield (when not fighting dragons ;) ) (all pictures by DroolMAN) Hope this helps.
  4. I always liked the Crandor Island lessers. There are 2 on the top of the Island and most players don't hunt them because they go after the Mossies instead or haven't started the Dragon Slayer quest yet. There are safe spots to the North and East. Cast a Curse first to pull the LD over to your safe spot. That way, you will never get hit and all of your arrows appear in the loot pile. I take runes for Curse, Teleport, and Hi alch. I usually never bothered to bring food since I never get hit. Hope this helps.
  5. Just full armor will work. But don't wield a staff, as then you can sometimes succeed. You can wield a staff if you also wear green dragonhide vambraces. The staff gives +10 to magic attack but the vambraces gives -10 so they cancel each other out. The rest of your full (any) metal armor needs to add up to -65 to always fail the spell. I always liked casting from the Varrock sewer key room across the water into the 4 zombie ladder room. It's multi-combat and completely safe. Hope this helps.
  6. So, at most, you need to smelt and smith 925 steel bars. Stell is popular to use because is requires the least amount of coal (for products worth hi-alching) and iron is easy to buy/mine. Well, generally speaking, the lower level ores (like iron) are faster exp per ore used than the higher level ores (like Mith). For example, steel gives 18.33 smithing exp per ore used but Mith gives only 16. Higher level ores give better gp back per coal used so If you want exp then do steel. If you want the cash then do Mith. Well, Iron averages 18.75 smithing exp per ore used as compared to 18.33 for steel. So you could level faster doing just iron (no coal required) but the products that you make won't bring in much money. Your best choice is to become a member and use the member's ruby ring. It gives you 140 100% iron smelts. So that boosts your smithing exp to 37.5 per ore used. So, for fastest exp do iron with the members ruby ring. Next fastest is F2P iron. Next is F2P steel. Next is Mith. For money, in order, do Mith, Steel, Member iron, and lastly, F2P iron. Hope this helps.
  7. If you have logs in the bank then you could try East Fally. Run east to start your burn line and you can end up back in front of the bank. If you are buying the logs, then try the Rimmington general store. Willow cutters often dump their loads in there. You can buy each log for about 12 gp. You can start your burn line just northeast of the town or just south of it. Hope this helps.
  8. It depends on what your goals are... If you want loot then kill Lesser Demons. If you want to get big bones for selling or prayer then kill Hill Giants, Mossies, or Ice giants. If you want to train without needing food then consider pirates. I liked killing pirates because I never needed any food and it was constant slaughter. Finally, use the Tip It monster guide to select a monster. Hope this helps.
  9. The best weapon is the one that is most effective against the monster's defenses. For chain mail wearing guards, the rune long sword works well in stab style. For most other monsters, the rune scimmy has good damage and good speed. Some players prefer the Baxe as well. So, know the strengths and weaknesses of your weapon and, likewise, the weakness of your enemy. The Jagex knowledge base lists the stats of the weapons, so spend some time looking at that. Hope this helps.
  10. Very, very close. It's actually 2^(1/7) That's not really a problem at all since Round(Number) = Floor(Number + 1/2) So you can use either one in a formula. As long as your results match the displayed Runescape number, you're fine. That's because you need to add in the polynomial contribution. ;) Conventional least squares curve fitting will easily let you get it exactly. You just need to select the right function to fit. And that function needs to be A*2^(Level/7) + B + C*Level + D*Level^2 + ...
  11. There are a lot of posts here and on other forums that talk a lot about this. I don't know about Tip It's formulas, but for melee, I have seen this suggested: Level = floor(0.325*Attack + 0.325*Strength + Defense/4 + HitPoints/4 + Prayer/8)
  12. There are 2 100% correct formulas for Experience as a function of Level. First, there is "Phil's" discrete version and then there is Wally's continuous version So, basically, the formula is an exponential 2^L/7 plus a polynomial.
  13. Yeh, that's fine if you want to waunder around finding new monsters to curse everyime. If you wear any full metal armor then you will have a magic attack stat of -65. That is enough to always fail when casting the Curse spell. Even though you will fail it, you will still always get the full 29 mage exp for the cast :) If you want to cast with an elemental staff then add green vambraces to keep yourself at -65. This way you can keep casting on the same monster. The 4 zombie ladder room in the varrock sewers is a popular spot. Cast from the key room across the water. Hope this helps.
  14. What you could try doing is to take a tinderbox and axe and a full load of cooked lobsters to Karamja. Offer to trade a full load of cooked lobsters for uncooked to the fishermen there. Make the trade, cook the new lobsters, and then repeat. Fishermen will always get an instant full load of cooked lobsters. And, with 75 cooking, you shouldn't be burning them anymore. You will have to stop to cut more firewood sometimes or sell a bunch of logs to the general store there and buy logs back 1 at a time when needed. If no-one has lobbies ready to trade then world hop and keep cycling through the worlds trying each group of fishermen. Many lobster fishermen don't have 75 cooking so they might be happy to always get an instant, guaranteed full load of unburned lobsters ;) It's worth a try...
  15. Well, I don't know about P2P spots but Edgeville has 2 trees very close to the bank. The rare trees symbol on the official Runescape world map shows the locations of all 23 F2P yew trees. Other places to try include Draynor village and south of Fally. Hope this helps.
  16. You could do the Earnest the chicken quest for a quick 300 gold and then do the Black knight fortress quest for 2500 gold. (Although you may have to do some other quests first to get you quest total up) Well, the icons in the RS game give you some info about items but you can just use the Jagex knowledge base to compare items. But here is a quick summary: Rune at level 40 Addy at level 30 Mith at level 20 The normal outfit is legs, plate, kite shield, and full helm. Use a emerald ammy for Def boost Use a ruby ammy for Str boost Use a diamond ammy for all around boost And, very roughly: Dagger fastest but weakest Scimm fast and strong slash Long sword ok speed and in strong in stab, slash Baxe slower but strong 2H slowest and strongest. So most players use the Scimmy or Longsword for fighting. They have good speed and good attack ability. I suggest that you get mining up to earn money for better gear and get fishing/cooking up for healing food. Hope this helps
  17. The Silverlight sword has about the same stats as a steel longsword. So, since you are not fighting demons, you would do much better to switch to a Mith weapon. But what is your Attack level? You need at least 20 to use Mith weapons. I suggest that you mine and bank iron for cash. IIRC, Iron is level 15 to mine. If you did 5 complete full inventory trips of Iron then you could sell them to players for about 14000 gold. That should be more than enough to buy yourself full Mith. You could use the Al Kharid or SE Varrock mines for iron. You could find buyers on world#1 in Fally/Varrock or in the Tip It marketplace forums. Hope this helps.
  18. FYI, Earth strike averages about 15 mage exp per cast. Fire strike averages about 19 per cast and Curse always gives 29 per cast.
  19. Sorta... Your combat level is determined by your primary fighting method plus your Defense, Hitpoints, and Prayer. AFAIK, your primary fighting method is the largest of (Attack + Strength)*26/80 or Range*39/80 or Magic*39/80 So until you raise your Range or Magic to about 24. you will be a melee fighter. Hope this helps
  20. Yes, if other stats are a lot lower. The combat level formula for a melee fighter is something like CombatLevel = floor(Attack*0.325 + Strength*0.325 + Defense*0.25 + HitPoints*0.25 + Prayer*0.125) So if you trained Strength to 99 you would have about level 88 Hitpoints and, if every other stat sayed as is, you would be around combat level 64 Use the Tip It calculator to experiment. Do you have the stake also? Well, if you get your attack to level 20, then you can use a mith scimmy. That could help a lot. Otherwise, go and death grab some red spider eggs and limpwort root. Take both of them to the apothecary in Varrock. If you have 5 gold with you, he will convert them into a nice 4 dose strength potion for you. You can use that potion to help finish the vampire. Death grabbing means to wear only 2 items and then go into a dangerous area and grab the the thing that you want before the monsters kill you. If you die then that's OK because you will keep the item that you grabbed since it's the allowed third death item. (IIRC, this doesn't work for stackable items though) Red spider eggs are found at the end of the Varrock sewers and under the Karamja volcano. Limpwort roots are dropped by hobgoblins. Hobgoblins can be found west of the crafting guild, edgeville dungeon, and above ground. You can also try and get a Ruby Strength amulet. It adds +10 to strength bonus. Well, remember that you earn exp per hit that you do and not based on the monsters level. Sp, I like to train on monsters much, much lower than me because that way, I am constantly killing and I don't need any food. So, there's nothing wrong with killing cows or low level goblins. I suggest that you fight monsters near a bank. Use the Tip It monster guide to select monsters. If you have Attack 20 and Defense 20 then you can use Mith gear. So, you might want to upgrade your gear, get a strength, ammy, and get that strength potion. Oh, one final word, never, ever fight blue or black wizzies while wearing metal armor! Against wizzies, wearing "nothing" is better than wearing metal. Hope this helps.
  21. After you select a monster to train on, I suggest that you always cast a Curse on it before you shoot. That will "pull" the monster over to you so that when they die, the loot and all of your arrows will be in a tidy pile in front of you. You can usually use any spot just outside the monsters normal walk region as your safe spot to shoot from. And yes, pick up your arrows. Thay will last about 4 times as long if you do. Hope this helps.
  22. Well, I can only speak for my calculations but it's easy enough to check the calculations yourself... Exp earned = (11.5 + 2*AverageHit)*10000 Firestrike's max hit is 8, so an average of 4 could be used. Level 27 is 9730 exp Level 57 is 203254 exp
  23. Well if he averaged a hit of 4, (Max/2) then he would earn (11.5+2*4)*10000 = 195000 So his new exp would be, at least, 9730+195000 = 204730 which is level 57
  24. Fwiw, 10088 Curses, at most, would get you to level 61...
  25. Well, Chaos and Death runes are expensive ways to earn mage experience. Unless you are in a rush and have money to burn, there are more cost effective ways to raise magic. Unless you want the drops or the HP experience, Curse is a better way to go. Fire Strike averages about 18 mage exp per cast. Curse always gives 29 mage exp per cast. The runes for Curse can be made in F2P and, in fact, the Body rune altar is closer to the bank than the Mind rune altar. The trick to level magic with Curse is to always fail when you cast it. You can do that by wearing any full set of metal armor and getting your magic attack stat to -65. If you wear green dragonhide vambraces then you can use a Water or Earth staff when you cast and save runes. Otherwise, you might hit sometimes and then have to go find another target. Good places to cast include the key room in the Varrock sewers. You can cast across the water into the 4 zombie ladder room. It's multicombat and no monsters can reach you there. You can also try Cursing the red monk in the cage under the Varrock palace stairs. Hope this helps.
