  10. I went from 73 to 80 F2P ranging on the 2 lesser demons at the top of Crandor Island. With bronze arrows I hit 10 often. There are safe spots on the north edge and south of the east side. My technique was to cast a curse on one to pull it over to me. I would then stand in my safe spot and shoot about 20-25 bronze arrows on rapid style with a maple short bow. When the lessers died, any loot was in a pile, along with the arrows, right in front of me for easy pick up. I never got hit (thanks to the safe spot and Curse pulling), so defense and food where never a concern. I took runes for Hi-alching and teleporting. I always picked up my arrows, so I used each arrow, on average, 4 times before it dissappeared. If you get bored you can always figure out how to range 2 at once even though it's not a multi-combat zone :) Hope this helps.

  19. At level 49, the max hit for Bronze, Iron, and Steel arrows is 7 Are you sure that you want to keep on paying for Steel arrows? Also, if you pick up your arrows, you can use each one about 4 times. That saves a huge amount of gp. If you use the northern moss spawn then the spiders will not be a problem. Yes, but since it's multicombat you can always get a piece of each spawn no matter how crowded it gets there. Well, since you get Exp for each arrow hit then the monster level really doesn't matter. What matters is the spawn rate. To level quickly you want to be constantly killing. So unless you really want the big bones or the occasional piece of mith gear, I suggest that you find some spot where there are a lot of lower level monsters and kill those instead. Another alternative is to start (or complete) the Dragon slayer quest. Then you can go range the 3 Mossies on the south side of Crandor Island. There are 2 very nice safe spots to shoot from on the north and north-west sides. Well, max hit for mith at your level is 8. So, IMHO, I don't think that they are worth it since you get 7 with the 3 lower arrows types. Oh, and use a Curse spell to pull the monster over to you. It makes it a lot easier to pick up your arrows that way since they will all be in the monsters loot pile at the end. Hope this helps.
  20. Try looking in the Crafting market forum. Some of the crafters selling/buying there advertise their services in their sigs. Also, AFAIK, Ltangel offers a Friday night free crafting service. Check her website for details.
  21. No Body gives a better gp/xp ratio. The cost for casting the highest mage exp mind rune based spell (fire strike) is about the same for casting Curse. Fire strike averages about 18 mage exp per cast. Curse always gives 29. Hence you get a better ratio because you get more exp for about the same price. Also, the Body altar is closer to a bank then the Mind altar. So runecrafting Bodies is faster and gives more RC exp as well compared to minds. If you use the "failed" Curse casting trick then you can keep on casting on the same monster over and over again.
  22. That depends on how you define "best" Do you mean cheapest, fastest, with HP exp, without HP exp, runecraftable, require extra items, etc? Take a look at Tip It's magic exp chart and use that as a guide for casting. To find the average exp per cast just add the "Exp gained" value to the "max hit" value. (There are a few errors in the table though, The value for Crumble Undead should be 24.5 btw and the enchant spells below level 59 are all F2P.) Generally speaking higher level spells will give more exp but they also cost a lot more. For F2P the most cost effective spells is Curse. You will always get 29 mage exp with every cast and you can always make all of the runes yourself. The best Mind rune based spell averages about 18 mage exp per cast. The best Chaos rune based spell is Crumble undead. You will average about 38 exp per cast. Hope this helps.
  23. The key idea behind "splash" or failed curse training is to get your magic attack stat to -65. Then it doesn't matter what the monster's Magic Def is because you will always fail each cast and keep getting your 29 mage experience. If you look at the stats for metal armor you will realize that the metal type doesn't matter. So, you can wear full bronze or full bronze with green vambraces and an earth or water staff to reach -65 (all pictures by DroolMAN) The magic attack stat of full bronze is: -6-30-21-8 = -65 or add green vambraces and a earth or water staff to get: -6-30-21-8-10+10 = -65 Either way, you will always fail the Curse and, hence, can train on any monster of your choice. If you cast in a multi-combat region then you will almost always have a target available. You could cast from the key room in the Varrock sewers across the water into the 4 zombie ladder room. (my favorite place because it 100% safe, multicombat, and not too far from a bank) Or cast at the white knights in the screen/torture room on the west side of the second floor of their castle. Or cast of the caged zammy monk under the Varrock palace stairs. Or cast on the caged lesser at the top of the wizzy tower. Or cast at ducks on the lumby river. OR cast across the water from the crafting guild cow pen at the hobgoblins. There are many monsters that you can use. The key idea is to get that magic attack stat to -65 using any metal type armor. Hope this helps.
  24. Yes to all of the above. I usually add the magic ammy and the leather/metal coif thing that you, IIRC, can only buy in the champs guild.
  25. Goobore replied to FatalWindz's topic in Help and Advice
Fire Bolt costs about 6 gp per mage exp earned. and Failed Curse costs about 1 gp per mage exp earned if you buy all of the runes. Otherwise, it's free exp if you make the runes.
