  1. Just for a bit of fun, have you seen what you can make with Anagrams from the letters in stage #9? You get funny things like: Hide a webb ISP A webb ID is Hep He is webb paid His web be paid He is a webb dip A webb pie dish She wiped a bib Wide hips babe Dish wipe babe etc...
  2. For anyone that cares, here's a summary of posted clues for each stage thus far. Stage 1: Follow the instructions on the page, Type in the url without any spaces. Stage 2: Type in the box color. Only 1 of 2 common spellings is accepted. Stage 3: Type in the missing color. Only 1 of the missing colors is accepted. Stage 4: What, exactly, is the cause of brain death for someone in the device? Stage 5: What color is missing. Ignore the hint. Know your display technology. Stage 6: You must view the page source, (or equivalent). Similar to Stage 1. Stage 7: What is the common name for this childlike drawing? Stage 8: First enlarge the image. Second, translate the image into binary. Third, Google 'binary chart' . One of the links on the first page is exactly what you need to get the next url. Stage 9: 2 hints given so far From the riddle author, fire_skulll300: "so far i think 2 people are on number 9 if you are one of them you will find that things just dont seem to add up or do they *cough**hint**cough*" From Aperson and neogeo0823: "check out the picture. you have a string of numbers and letters, followed by a string of alternating numbers and letters. the second line is the key to the puzzle. when things look down, add em up." Stage 10:
  3. WHAT IS THE QUESTION or am i just stupid :?: The url for the next stage is found by rephasing what is already on the page.
  4. He means that the answer to stage 1 is found by "rephasing" what is already written on that page...
  5. The rules are very clear here: If you log in more than 1 account at the same time then you could be banned. You will be ok if you log in your scout, look around, log out and then log in your miner. If you drop trade, then you could be banned.
  6. Here's what the puzzle author wrote in thread message #155
  7. Ok, here's the procedure to solve#8 1) Use an image editor to magnify the image. You will see that it's 15 groups of 8 black and white lines. 2) Convert the black and white lines into 0's for white, 1 for black. You will have 15 binary numbers. 3) Use Goggle to search for Binary chart. One of the links returned from the first page is exactly what you need to use to do the required translation. 4) Type in the next web address
  8. For the hangman one, the "Think outside the box" hint is really not that good a hint. In the best of circumstances it's only about 20% true anyway. Instead, think of what happens to a person who hangs in the device. What, exactly, is always the cause of death? Six letters
  9. Just Google Binary chart You will, eventually, find everything that you need...
  10. Clues given so far in this thread are: Stage 1: The correct url is actually given on the page Stage 2: The precise color of the box (1 of 2 spellings is needed) Stage 3: The missing color (1 of 5 colors is needed) Stage 4: A killing device is shown. What is always the cause of brain death? Stage 5: The color that is missing (know your technology) Stage 6: Stage 7: What is it? Stage 8: A double translation is required. You must magnify the image. Stage 9:
  11. Correct so far... You are almost there. No No This is a translation puzzle. First, from an image into binary Second, from binary into decimal. Third, from decimal into ... To say any more would be to give it away.
  12. Actually, there are 5 possible correct answers to #3. The author only accepts one of them.
  13. Actually it's worse than that. The "correct" answer is only about 20% scientifically accurate.
  14. For #8, it's a code translation puzzle. It's easy if you have ever had any low level programming experience.
  15. A few comments about this riddle puzzle... Starting page: The word "curently" is misspelled and is not a clue. Otherwise what the author wants you to do is to is type in the next URL address. So you will be typing in things like http://www.freewebs.com/prizeriddler/typehere.htm Stage 1: The incorrect sentence wording of "Hint the are ..." is not a clue. The best clue that I can give here is that there is more than 1 way to interpret the phases. It would all become clear if some quotes were added. Stage 2: The clue for this page, as mentioned allready in this thread, appears to be just a blank black background. If you look at the source html code for this page, (view Source), you will see bgcolor="black" If you right click on the near upper left of the screen you can look at the picture the author has given as a clue. It appears to be a simple black box as mentioned already in this thread. So it looks like the author has given us a black box on a black background, right? Wrong! It's not actually black, it only looks like it's totally black because it precisely matches the black background  It is actually a different color. Windows Explorer can show the very slight difference in color but in (my version of) netscape they are exactly the same. Note: there are actually 2 common spellings of the correct answer but the author only accepts one of them. Stage 3: In this stage you are presented with 6 items. It turns out that there is a hidden question on the page. Windows explorer will show the message but (my version of) Netscape will not. You can see the hidden question by left-click and drag in a lower-right-to-upper-left-motion. Or you can just View Source to see the question. The problem with this question is that there are at least 5 possible correct answers but only 1 of those is what the author is looking for. Stage 4: I am presently working on this puzzle. I hope this helps out some of you.
  16. The Hi alch value of anything is 1.5 times the general store value of that object when 0 are in stock.
  17. Question: What is the respawn time for the canoe tree? It seems to me that a player could raise his woodcutting skill by just making canoes and then pushing them into the river over and over again.
  18. What's interesting about the 200 million cap is the determination of who sits in the #1 position when more than 1 player has 200 million exp. Does Runescape keep on adding up your exp and then assign you your place in the high score list? (even though it only displays 200 million exp) or Does the first person to reach 200 million always occupy the #1 position, and the second to reach 200 million the 2 position and so on? If that were the case, then whoever reaches 200 million would be the permanent #1 player in that skill. :D (until Jagex raises the cap of course)
  19. I guess they just add new skills instead...
  20. Eve340, Xxx Neo Xxx7, and Galliard01 each have 200 million exp in a single skill. That's equal to about level 126 for that skill.
  21. If you do it right, Shantay will also let you access your bank. It works for both members and free players.
  22. For free to play players, Body runes give the most Magic and RC exp from runes that you can craft yourself. So, for free players wanting to work up both skills cheaply, doing failed Curses with Body runes is the cheapest way to be fast.
  23. There are a few problems with your approach... 1) Some skills have been around for far longer than other skills. That puts a big bias in favor of the older skills. 2) Some skills (like mining) are available to all players, Pay and Free alike. (The number 2 miner is a free player) Other skills are members only. According to Jagex, they have about 600k members and about 5.4 million free players. So there is a big difference in the number of players allowed to do the 6 members only skills vs those allowed to do the other 15 skills. 3) All skills have a "potential" payoff for getting a high level. Mining: runite ore. Fishing: Shark. Slayer: whips, etc. But what about Agility, Firestarting, etc? Players are more likely to work at a skill for the reward than they would at another that has, essentially, no reward. So, fewer players would get 99 because there's no "big payoff". 4) Saying "...strength is the easiest skill to level, ..." is just silly. The large number of players with high strength is more an indication of the fighting style taken by most PKers. 5) Some skills have a large difference in the amount of effort, between members and free players, required to level that skill. Look at Prayer and Runecrafting for example. Those skills are much, much harder to raise for free players. 6) Some skills can be "bought" if a player has enough money. Smithing is hard and slow if you mine the ore yourself but is fairly easy if you have a large collection of bars. So high smithing could be more of an indication of cash rather than difficulty. If you really want to rate the skills by difficulty then go and see how much exp you can earn per hour doing that skill as a member and then as a free player. Then rate the skills according to that instead of the number of 99s.
  24. I wonder if free players can still use the Shantay bank?
