Request an Image Host
It's all kind of done on a case-by-case basis at this point. But generally: Websites strictly for personal use will not be allowed. This might include personal blogs, personal portfolios, or just using your own hosting for images. If you create a small RuneScape-related site, it won't be allowed at first. Examples of what I mean are your own fan site, your own dynamic signature site, or any other kind of RuneScape "service" site. Along the line, if/when it becomes well known, established, and 'trustworthy,' we will consider allowing it. Clan sites will not be allowed.

Request an Image Host
Unfortunately we can't add this right now because it is a personal site and isn't a 'reputable' or 'trusted' image host. :( I'm sure you're not out there grabbing IPs, but we do have to draw the line somewhere and we chose to draw it at personal sites. If you were to expand this and develop it into a more well known and trusted signature hosting site, we might be able to consider it. But right now it's very much a personal site used by a close group of friends so it doesn't meet our criteria. Sorry. :( Added junglebiscuit, but unfortunately we can't add clan sites, for a reason similar to what I told Medaragon. British Elites might be fine, but clan sites are a big part of the IP grabbing problem so we have to put a blanket ban on them. But it shouldn't be too difficult to reupload your recruitment images to one of our allowed hosts. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we really have to do everything we can to protect our users (including you).

Request an Image Host
Just so you guys know - we'll work on processing some of the other requests soon. :) We need to more concretely establish our criteria. But just a heads up, we probably will have to decline some of them. Adding too many unknown/personal/small sites to the whitelist kind of defeats the purpose of having it in the first place. In order to maximize everyone's security, we need to keep the list limited to bigger and more established sites that we know for certain are trustworthy.

Oh Parents, Part X (Smartphone Decisions to be Made!)
What Peter said! Galaxy S3 is amazing! And for what it's worth, I also owned an iPhone before owning the Galaxy S3. I like the SGS3 so much more. And in general, I like how Android phones sync so well with all your Google stuff. So if you use GMail and other Google applications, Android is so much better. :P I guess the only thing that might be an issue is the size. I personally LOVE the size and can't imagine using anything smaller now. But everyone is different. You'll definitely have to pick one up and decide for yourself.

how many warning points do you have?
I just wanted to clear up a few things about how warn points actually work. We don't use warn points as a measure of severity of offenses. We do NOT have a system in place like minor offense = 1 point, more severe offense = 3 points, etc. We do NOT have a system in place like 5 points = suspension, 10 points = permanent ban. Instead, we basically just add a warn point any time we contact you for any rule issue. If you get a warning, you get a point. If you get a suspension, you get a point. So you could say the points just count the number of times you've been contacted by a member of the moderation staff. IPB only recently heavily overhauled their warning system. Many of the old warnings will not have transferred over correctly (that includes reasons for warnings, messages sent to you in warnings, etc.). The moderating team keeps separate records that are still in tact, but the warning page you have now may not be 'accurate.' But with the new system, from here on out you will be able to refer back to your warnings and see the messages that were sent to you. I guess the point of this post is that I don't want you guys to fret over how many points you have. Don't worry that you're getting close to a ban. That's not how it works. For the system we use, points don't expire. But when you break a rule and we're trying to determine "punishment," we always consider things like how long it has been since your last offense, the severity of your most recent offense, and so on. So don't worry about the number. Don't worry about having an unclean record. Don't try to figure out how you can get that 1 point (or more) to disappear. Those points are just for the sake of our record-keeping system. If you have any questions or concerns about this, just contact an admin. :)

No more Bonus XP weekends
I'm kind of glad to see this. It was a little disappointing that some people were only leveling up thanks to bonus XP weekend making it easy.

Forum image uploaders/sig rotators
You can read an explanation here: http://forum.tip.it/topic/312872-post-upgrade-details/ (read the second point). But reliable image hosts can be added to our white list. I'll add uzzisoft in a moment. :)

No because the image host is blocked. :twss: Facepalm. Forgot about that :P http://booknook.me/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/across-the-universe-beth-revis.jpeg

What book are you currently reading?
I recently finished Across the Universe by Beth Revis. It was amazing! And is this not the most gorgeous cover you've ever seen? http://booknook.me/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/across-the-universe-beth-revis.jpeg It's too bad though. That cover is great, the second book's cover is great, but they decided to "redesign" the series for the third book.. and it's horrible :/ Anyway I'm now reading Exiled by M.R. Merrick. This is also great. It's a nice urban fantasy kind of book. Demons, vampires, demon hunters.. that kind of thing. Really cool! Also, last night I went to a Dark Days Book Tour stop in Huntington Beach! Authors Veronica Roth (Divergent), Dan Wells (Partials), S.J. Kincaid (Insignia), and Aprilynne Pike (Wings) were there! It was so amazing and I even met a blogger friend!

Join the Tip.It Monster Hunting Team! We're recruiting! [pending]14[/pending] The Tip.It Monster Hunting Team is hunting for some new, active recruits! If you're interested in being part of this gang of epic monster hunting event leaders, keep reading to learn more about the team, what we expect from members, and how to apply! About the Team The Tip.It Monster Hunting Team (TMHT) is not just about going on monster hunts; it's about leading monster hunts. Our team members are experts on monster hunting! They take leadership positions and help lead attendees on the hunt! We decide which events to put on, we work out all the details, and then we lead people during the event itself. Requirements to Apply If you're thinking about applying to join the team - that's AWESOME! Here's a list of requirements you have to meet in order to be considered: You must be P2P. You must have a high combat level. You must be knowledgeable about monster hunting (ideally not limited to just one boss). You must be a natural leader and be comfortable giving instructions. You must be a team player. You must have a Tip.It Forum account and check the forum regularly. Ideally you will have attended TMHT events before, but this is not a requirement. How to Apply Still with us? Fab! The next step is to fill out and submit your application. Applications will be read by the entire TMHT. We will review all of them equally and fairly, and choose the best of the bunch to join our ranks! If you're not accepted, don't worry! You can still attend our events and there might be a chance that you'll be able to join the team at a later date. :) Fill out the below application and PM it to @tripsis with the subject line TMHT Application APPLICATION DEADLINE: 22nd July 2012 (11:50pm GMT) [hide=Application - Read Only] [/hide] [hide=Application In Code Tags - Copy From Here!] General Information: Tip.It Forum Name: Link to Forum Profile: RuneScape Name: Please attach a dynamic stat signature to display your RuneScape Stats ( http://www.tip.it/runescape/?dynamic ): Your Qualifications: What time zone do you live in? Ban appeal
The e-mail you received from RuneScape was probably a fake. Unless they changed their policy, they never e-mail you regarding things like this. They only send you messages via your RuneScape message centre. People send out these fake e-mails that contain links to pages that get you to login to a fake site so they can steal your password. (That's why the page URL didn't work when you clicked on it) You should never ever navigate to RuneScape.com by clicking a link in an e-mail. Those links can be disguised. An example might be like: http://www.runescape.co.us http://www.runesca.pe.com and so on.. If you ever need to go to RuneScape.com, tyep in the URL yourself. So tl;dr: you're probably not banned. A hacker just got into your account. You will have to attempt to recover it.

Allow profanity.
That's actually not possible at all because posts get filtered before they're actually displayed. So there's no way to have one group that can see it and one that can't. Otherwise, we probably would do that.

We don't want to completely discourage people from posting. :) The idea is to use it when you strongly agree with a post but don't have anything to add to merit your own comment. This isn't really meant to be like Facebook where you can go around liking everything. Wasn't the point of adding a Like system to make it so we didn't have to post off-topic spam when we agreed with someone? Yes, but that doesn't mean you have to do it with every single post. Be selective. I think 10 likes per day is pretty reasonable. Ultimately we still want to encourage people to post. We don't want the like system to be a substitution for posting. We want it to work alongside of it and to allow people to selectively choose posts to like. We don't want people going around the forum liking 100 posts a day just because they can.
