  1. http://forum.tip.it/topic/228824-curtis-josep-breeds-his-1100-overgrown-cat/ Doing a search for "overgrown" in the Achievements forum will get you all kinds of results ;)
  2. Buy a house with my boyfriend... with a room for all my books. I'd use some of the rest go pay for a few book conventions or see authors at their various signings. Right now I wait for them to come to where I live, but with that money I'd fly to go to them (if they're not already booked to come to me).
  3. Anyone else have a Goodreads account?
  4. Please congratulate @Randox on being promoted to the Super Moderator position! She has been doing a great job in the Global Moderator role and we're confident that she'll do great as a Super! As a Super Moderator she now has the ability to ban users and edit profiles (such as remove inappropriate signatures). Congratulations!! :)
  5. I'm reading The Scorpio Races. I'm not that far into it yet but I have high hopes :P I mean.. evil, killer horses? Awesome.
  6. The last time I paid by phone was probably 2005.. but when I did it, I just called a number and was charged that way. They never called me.
  7. Thanks for offering up the suggestion :) It's always great to get feedback.
  8. Yeah unfortunately anything with music is really out of the question. Licenses asre expensive and we're not interested in breaking the law :P As for a podcast.. I'd honestly probably only consider it if the entire community was literally like "Please, please, please!!" I have my doubts that people would actually be interested. We have set up things like TeamSpeak in the past that have just tanked because not enough people were interested. They might not be exactly the same thing, but there are similarities: people talking, and listening.
  9. We will monitor the new system in case it does change peoples' posting habits. If it seems that the vast majority of people don't like it, we will of course remove it. But my hope is that it will limit (or completely remove) posts that are just "+1" (which get removed for spam anyway), but people will still create posts if they agree but have more to say or add on.
  10. Please tell me the dislike button will be added too. Haters gonna hate. Don't worry - there will be no dislike button. Only "like."
  11. We'll be adding this feature when we upgrade our forums to the latest version of IPB :)
  12. Sounds like she wants to have her cake and eat it too. She wants to be able to disconnect, go off on her own, do her partying/"I don't need you anymore" thing, and still be able to come crawling back to you. You can't always be sitting back and waiting for her to come to her senses.
  13. Reading is amazing! I had no social life in high school because I spent every lunch period in the library reading  I hope you enjoy it! I agree - Ancient Rome is absolutely awesome. That's one of my favourite subjects for movies/TV shows (and books, if they're like Gladiatrix!).
  14. Mmmmm I love new books. They excite me! It's like I get this incredible rush when I open a package containing a new book. You should have seen me shrieking and screaming as I ran towards the unopened packages  Now for the awesome new titles! At first I really wanted to read The Scorpio Races first.. and I still do.. because supposedly it's like "the new Hunger Games" or something. Plus it sounds awesome and it involves horses. Like what could be better?? But I think I'm going to force myself to read Shiver first because that was the author's first book. It just seems to make more sense to read that first. But on the other hand, Shiver is a trilogy o_O So if I love Shiver maybe I'll want to immediately read the next two books rather than going from Shiver > The Scorpio Races > back to the Shiver trilogy. Decisions, decisions! We'll see. Next up, we have: "In the arenas of Ancient Rome, the ultimate female warrior is born." Hello, awesome? It sounds like Spartacus/Gladiator for girls. Definitely psyched about this series! And in related news, I decided to start a book blog. I figured I'd combine my love for reading with my love for making websites :P So I did. http://booknook.me/
  15. Thanks! :) I agree about old books. Books used to be made with such fine detail, awesome bindings, and cool decorations. Now we do have cool book covers but they're all digital so it's just.. different :P
  16. Sorry - fixed :)

  18. that sounds like its part of the ice and fire song, etc. series - is it? I just read the wikipedia page of that series - had never heard of it before - and was completely astounded and engrossed for a few hours. it sounds like fantasy writing at its best. It's part of a series called The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan (also author of Percy Jackson & The Olympians).
  19. I finished The Accidental Billionaires. I wrote a review about it here: http://booknook.me/the-accidental-billionaires-by-ben-mezrich/ (yes I randomly started a book blog!). It wasn't anything amazing but it was an enjoyable read. Next up: The Throne of Fire. This has actually been sitting on my bookshelf for at least like a year.. but the third book is coming out May 1st so I'm finally going to read it!
  20. I'm not really a fan of the browser/F2P aspects. To me that almost always means "subpar game." But we'll see.
  21. The Accidental Billionaires arrived first so I'm reading that now, but I'll probably finish it today!
  22. Because the links you posted aren't actually direct links. You'll notice that when you click on them they take you to an entire page and not just an image. You can only show an image directly if the link is *just* an image :) You need the "direct link."
  23. Welcome to Tip.It! :)
