  1. Yeah it's actually pretty interesting how she's doing it. Most authors write an entire series and then they'd go back and start another series (in this case, a 'prologue' series). But Cassandra Clare is alternating between them. She writes one book from one series and then jumps to the other one and writes a book there, etc. Kind of cool :P Heh, if I were an author, I might do the same thing. I can never choose between fantasy and sci fi for my stories, and the sort of stories I would wright would be too balanced to try and pull a Garth Nix/Sabriel and have both in the same book. I'd also probably be more inlinced to write super long short stories (or maybe novellas) than I would be to write full novels. I alternate between what interests me too quickly. Yeah her explanation actually made so much sense. She said that by the time she finishes writing one book in one series, she's soooo sick of the characters and the 'world,' and she's had so much time to think up great ideas for the *other* series. So it seems like alternating is a great thing. :)
  2. Joking or not, calling someone a bot is not tolerated on Tip.It. And it should also be known that trolling is also not allowed on Tip.It. So saying "He's just trolling" doesn't make it okay. As made evident in the discussion that took place here, it's annoying and disruptive. Be respectful of people and don't give them an undeserved bad reputation just because you feel like having a bit of "lulz." I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate the same being done to you.

  4. I reread Harry Potter all the time! :P You can never get tired of it or too old for it tbh.
  5. Well adding on to what has already been said, having a sticky won't make the questions disappear. But another downside to having a sticky is that the sticky would become useless if it wasn't constantly updated and maintained. Moneymaking methods can quickly change as the market changes. If people are responding on individual threads, the person asking for help will always get the most up-to-date answer. If they just use the sticky, there's a chance that the information will become outdated and they'll get bad info.

English is my native language. I took Spanish and French classes throughout school so I know them okay, but definitely not fluently.
  7. Z0mg congrats Laila!! That's so awesome! :)

  11. There was an awesome Q&A and I did get my books signed but it was soooo poorly organized! To compare, the last book signing I went to was George R.R. Martin's. That one had like twice as many people but took half as long to get through the book signing. Martin was super organized. People had to have their books open to the correct page, you couldn't chat with him for ages, and there was a limit on the books you can get signed. So even though I was like at the back of that line, I was waiting less than an hour. But at Clare's.... I was about halfway down the line and we were waiting in line for about 2 hours. People would go up with 7 books and then stand there and chat to her for 10 minutes. So it was a bit frustrating but it was still great and I'm super glad I got to go :P Plus I got another City of Lost Souls signed, not signed to anyone so I can give it away :)

  14. I finished A Prince from the Shadows by J. Curtis Mace. Not a bad fantasy book. Could use some improving but I enjoyed it. (Full review) The author promised me a copy of the second one when he's finished with it! He promised more romance with the main character, so that's a good thing. Next up is City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I'm hoping to finish it in one sitting tomorrow because I haven't read any of Cassandra Clare's books but I'm going to her book signing/Q&A on Saturday. I'd rather feel at least somewhat prepared :P Going to get like 4 books signed though. If you like her books, stay tuned, because I'll be giving away a signed copy of the newest book, City of Lost Souls.
  15. Updated - thanks for catching this! :)

Looks like a player mod mute. That means you won't see the evidence until Jagex examines the mute/evidence/report (or something like that).
  17. Join me in congratulating our two newest super moderators: @Leik and @stevepole! They've both done an awesome job keeping the boards all neat and tidy, so we're delighted to offer them this new rank! Congratulations you two!
  18. I've seen those books all over the place lately so I finally bought City of Bones. I haven't read it yet, and I still have a bunch of other books ahead in my queue, but I have high hopes :P
  19. I actually used Librarything for ages as well. I kind of stopped (or started slacking) when I found Goodreads. In general, the Goodreads site is A LOT better. Part of that is the website designer in me cringing at Librarything's website.. especially their discussion boards. Goodreads is a lot better and more user friendly. Also, I'm pretty sure there's no limit on cataloguing books. Librarything does have the Early Reviewers program, which is nice, but Goodreads also has giveaways and they generally have a lot more books to give away. Plus, Goodreads is better engineered as a social networking site. There are a lot of cool status update/friends/blogging features that you can easily integrate with Twitter and Facebook. Right now I'm trying to use both sites but I find myself drifting more towards Goodreads. That CueCat thing does sound cool though :P
  20. Went and looked at your blog, really good. One thing to ask about your blog is whether or not you are going to do a review on one of the new Percy Jackson books, like Son of Neptune and such? Thanks so much :) I guess I could. The only problem is that I've already read them and it's been a few months. I'd probably have to reread them first to refresh my memory. However, I will be writing a review of the last book of the Kane Chronicles series (The Serpent's Shadow) in a few weeks. That has kind of happened to me. I think I'm more organized now that I'm using Goodreads though. You can basically create lists to categorize your books. So you could create a list for all those series books you need to keep track of.

So apparently Mark Zuckerberg got married? Didn't even know he was dating anyone. Don't really care about that, but this made me laugh a bit: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/mark-zuckerberg-marries-priscilla-chan/story?id=16389194#.T7mav0VSQmU Palo Alto Sol is my favourite restaurant! :P
  22. I kind of wish I took your advice and stopped reading :P I decided to finish it, only to find out that the worst part was yet to come... [hide=Spoiler Alert & Somewhat Disturbing Alert]He beat her really hard with a belt... luckily she finally that the good sense to leave him after that. It's ridiculous that it took that long though >_<[/hide] You can read my full review here if you want: http://booknook.me/fifty-shades-of-grey-by-e-l-james/ though I guess I don't really say much other than what I've already said in this thread. Now I'm onto a new book called A Prince from the Shadows by J.Curtis Mace. The author was kind enough to provide me with a free copy in exchange for a review on my blog. It's a fantasy book. Sounds kind of cool - hope it's a good read.
