  1. As for the whole "Dungeons of Daemonheim" thing.. it's just like an expansion title for an MMO. I mean you have World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade.. and then World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King etc. Or Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. And then Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria.. Lord of the Rings Online: Siege of Mirkwood. From what I can tell, that's just what Jagex is doing here.

*is jealous* The tickets for their concert in my area were sold out within two weeks. Not cool at all >.> That really sucks. I got back like an hour and a half ago, and god damn that concert was amazing. The lasers.... the tower things they were all on..... holy crap that was the best concert I've ever been to. They started with Uprising and ended with Knights of Cydonia. I'm still blown away at how good it was, just the co-ordination of EVERYTHING. They all came out on these huge towers with a hole in the middle for each of them (each person on a different one) and the bottom of each went up and down as the concert progressed. The drummer also spun slowly through parts so the people in the back didn't feel left out :P. I also got a shirt for the (relatively) cheap price of $25. Next time they come here I'm definitely going again. I went to Muse last night and basically this ^^ They were EPIC. Best light show of any concert I've ever been to.. and possibly the best concert overall. They were awesome and the stage was like the coolest thing ever :XD: [hide=Pictures] [/hide] Other concerts I've been to: - Projekt Revolution 2004 (Linkin Park, Korn, Snoop Dogg, The Used, Less Than Jake) - Britney Spears (D: parents took me as a "surprise" knowing perfectly well that I've never liked her lol) - Eminem & 50 Cent - Metallica - Maroon 5 - Spice Girls x2 (once in their prime and once for their reunion thing) - Anna Nalick x3 (my guitar teacher is her drummer so I went to support him.. though I love Anna Nalick too) Pretty sure I'm missing 1 or 2 from that list >_<
  3. I love that movie :P [hide=Spoilers]I wish he won in the end though.[/hide] [hide]Well I don't know, I'm pretty strong at this but think he went overboard with killing the blond girl. The Judge part was my favourate. [/hide] [hide=Spoilers]Yeah the blonde didn't need to be killed.. but I don't like that they figured out his plan in the end and outsmarted him :P The Judge part was cool.. I jumped about 2 feet :XD:[/hide] I watched Equilibrium like 2 nights ago.. was awesome - I really enjoyed it. Christian Bale kicks some major [wagon].
  4. Agreed :XD: And her head looks oddly different from the rest of her body. There's a wider range of skin tones in her neck/hands than her face so it looks a little odd. Putting those aside, I like the new image. No comments on the rest of the site as I don't even know how it's different from the old main page (other than the image). I never look at anything except the Log In button.
  5. I have no problem with anyone thinking the trailer is epic :o I wasn't correcting anyone, just stating my opinion :)
  6. Well that is true, but if there is not many players complimenting how epic the trailer was, then how can it be epic? My question would be: How can you not think that was epic? :o I think it wasn't epic just because it's hard to associate RuneScape graphics with epic. Well not necessarily the graphics.. but the animations. I think the music and the voiceover set the stage for an epic trailer, but RuneScape combat animations aren't epic and dramatic enough to live up to the music/voice. I mean the video editing was pretty good (could have been better perhaps) but the real problem is just in the game's limitations. The animations are boring and there wasn't much they could do about that for a trailer. The animations feel slow and for me an epic combat trailer needs to be quick and fast paced. Melee is like stand still and slash, slash and magic is like a spell slooooowly moving toward the target. Slow =/= epic imo. After you've seen trailers for higher end, more graphic-intense MMOs, this one just isn't up to that standard.

I remember feeling artistic one day so I grabbed some spray paint from the garage and painted a masterpiece on the sidewalk/fire hydrant for the world to see for all eternity..... until my dad had to hire some guy to have it removed :(
  8. Congratulations!! You've been doing a great job - keep it up!
  9. Unfortunately this seems to be happening to a lot of people :( No idea what the problem is (my guess would be something on their end rather than your end, since it's affecting so many people) but maybe this thread might interest you: CAUTION: Java Client is Killing at Random!.
  10. I brush my teeth twice a day every day and use Arm & Hammer toothpaste :XD: Brushing any less than once a day is disgusting imo.
  11. I love that movie :P [hide=Spoilers]I wish he won in the end though.[/hide]
  12. Holy [cabbage] D: that's scary stuff. They're going to lose a lot of players over this, I'm sure
  13. 1. Obviously I can time travel! (I'll fix that :P) 2. I'll be changing my name back to Tripsis tomorrow :) Thanks for the post!
  14. I have clicked on one ad before  (and it was one for another game.. go figure)
  15. Aw thanks :) Thanks so much! I appreciate the post! Don't let the artwork fool you, I'm Zamorak all the way :P I have a real life Book of Zamorak.. Do YOU have a real life Book of Zamorak!?!? Nah you've got me beat there, but I do have a few literary works laying around that may actually come pretty close to what it might say in there. Haha  How about we're even then! Thanks so much :) Aw thank you! :) Quit making me blush! Hehe. *points below for RS updates* Unfortunately I haven't been on RuneScape in a while :( Several reasons for that! First was getting that picture finished, then school work kicking in, then a House Season 5 marathon, then more school work and now... I feel like crap :( I'm exhausted, have a sore throat, coughing, sneezing, etc. Just not in the mood to do much of anything other than be lazy and watch movies. Hopefully I'll get more RuneScape time in once I start feeling better, whenever that may be!
  16. Congratulations you guys!!!

Sometimes it doesn't matter how fast you are, you can't always be the first to sign up.. I can't speak for all universities, but at mine, if you are a freshman/sophomore, there is a good chance that the classes you want/need will be filled up because juniors/seniors get to sign up before you (and sophomores before freshman). Then within each of those years, the students' sign up appointments are staggered. One freshman may not be able to sign up until 1pm on March 15th, another freshman not until 4pm on March 15th, and a third freshman not until 9am on March 16th.

The classes I was trying to get into were specific to my major. They were art studio classes reserved for art majors. There were not enough spots in the studio classes to accommodate all lower-division art majors. Enough set backs like this could mean spending an extra year in college. And I do try to work my way into classes once the quarter starts but with studio classes where space is tight, demand is high and there are only 18 people in each studio class, it is next to impossible. Squeezing your way into lectures, on the other hand (at least at my uni), is almost always guaranteed to work. I definitely agree that internships are a great experience. They can be good pay, and as you said, the references/experience that you can tack on a résumé are nice. But at least as far as the pay is concerned, it's probably better to take summer classes and graduate in 4 years than take an internship, graduate in 5 years and pay another year's worth of tuition D: I'm sure you could fit both into a college career though (summer classes one year or two and an internship another year). @Nick - Yeah California is terrible right now. The UC schools are well known for having a lot of students who can't graduate in 4 years for the reasons that I described.

Hey now, playing games all summer is *NOT* nothing!! :P I don't actually play games all summer.. I usually get a job *and* play games all summer. Hah.

The biggest problem is students not being able to get into classes that they need. For example, I am currently a freshman in college majoring in Art. Because my year has the lowest priority for enrollment, my year enrolls last. For the current quarter (spring quarter), by the time I was able to sign up for classes, every single lower-division art studio class was full so I am taking ZERO art classes this quarter. This is likely to happen again and again through my four years at college. People with higher priority enrollment beat me to enrolling in classes that I NEED to graduate. With enough delays like that, I will not be able to graduate in four years. So credits-wise, you should have no problem completing enough credits in 4 years. The problem is being able to take specific classes that fulfill general education requirements or major requirements because the classes fill up. Also if you are double majoring (like I will be), summer classes can help spread out the work load.
  21. Well... I'm glad to hear that... now We'll see what happens when Jagex notices other games being discussed on the forums (Including and entire forum dedicated to Jagex's biggest competitor). I'm guessing it'll only be a matter of time... I'm sure they know we discuss other games on the forums. It's just that with the advertisements, the site was directly advertising different games, with the intention of people clicking on the adverts to play the game. Here's the problem with that though: (I'm putting on my conspiracy hat for this one) Tip.it was advertising other online games long before the 'safe list' was made. Jagex was probably more than aware of this fact. Jagex gives Tip.It a taste of the Affiliation life.... Tastes pretty good to Tip.It Jagex now says: We want you to change the way you conduct yourselves on your site.... or else. Tip.It complies... no harm no foul right? Now what happens when Jagex see's other things that's been happening here (and on other fansites) that they don't agree with. It starts little, no one notices, no one cares... but where will it end. How many times will Jagex use the threat of removal from the "Safe List" as a weapon to bend Tip.It into what THEY want it to be? And what is their goal, to make Tip.It another arm of Jagex? If not, then why would they care WHAT Tip.It and other fansites use for advertising. The Hacker Manifesto: He who controls the flow of information controls the world. Who's really in control of the flow on tip.it? It appears (for the moment) that Jagex has the upper hand. Don't let my low post count fool you, I've been a quiet member of tip.it since 2005, and a user of their services for longer than that. Its a great website, and I'm a huge fan, but I'm just a little concerned about the influence the "Safe List" has over them First of all, Jagex already knows that members talk about other games. They've seen our forums, they used to post on our forums. They have to know that we discuss other games and oftentimes complain about Jagex and RuneScape, sometimes in ways that Jagex probably doesn't like. I personally doubt that Jagex would ever attempt to control the content of the Tip.it site/forum. If they do, it's not Jagex that we have to worry about, but the administrators. In the end, it will be their decision. I believe that the administrators are capable of making the right decision. I don't think they'd let Tip.it's content be controlled by Jagex. Of course I can't speak for the admins but I know a lot of them and having been one myself, I like to think I have a pretty good idea of how they operate. As long as the changes Jagex are requesting do not affect the site/forum and its users, it makes sense for Tip.it to comply. Once they start making outrageous demands that will take away the freedom of the site/forum, I'm sure the admins will be able to weigh the advantages of being considered "safe" with the disadvantages that the Tip.it users would face with such changes and make the right decision.
  22. According to a tech administrator, there won't be any revenue loss with this change.
  23. If Jagex took it a step further than they already have, asking us to change the content of our site/forums, I trust the admins to do what's best for the USERS and not comply. Changing our ads doesn't affect the users of Tip.it and while I think it's absurd for Jagex to make that request, it honestly isn't that big of a deal and doesn't really affect our site/forums. As long as it doesn't make a big difference, it's better to comply and be counted as a "safe" fan site or whatever. But if Jagex make requests that would change the way this site/forum is run or make requests to change our content, then that would affect the users in a negative way. In that case, I'm sure the admins would know that it would be better to continue running a great, free fan site and say "no" to Jagex's demands than to comply and be counted as a "safe" fan site by Jagex's standards. I trust the admins to have enough sense to do what's in the users' and the site's best interests.
  24. Congratulations (on all of them!) Thieving is really fast, just as Sirscrap said. You'll be maxed in no time ;)

I'm currently a Freshman in college. At some point I may have to consider taking summer classes because I'll be working toward a double major and am having some trouble getting into art studio classes (and it is expected that it will continue to be difficult next year).
