  1. Same :P I've been feeling RuneScape-deprived! So despite my better judgment (since I need to finish my art assignment), I went on RuneScape today to do some spending. I bought: Lesser Magic Cage #2 x2 Magic Chests Tok-Xil Why did I decide to get Tok-Xil instead of Dagannoth? To put it simply, Tok-Xil looks 50x cooler. I originally planned to get a Dagannoth because it's the "second best" monster in terms of costs/difficulty.. but whatever. I looked up some photos and he just looks noob. Tok-Xil looks awesomely intimidating. Also, I'm thinking of turning the dungeon room outside of Tok-Xil's room into an Oubliette so I can put another fire pit in.. you know, grand entrance to the Tok-Xil and all! ;) So only 15 million gp left to go until my house is done (unless I change things around some more). In other news... [hide=]I've been working on a real life Book of Zamorak and I finally got all the pages sewn together: And here's some progress on my next piece for the art assignment: EDIT: Finished. Took ~11.5 hours total. [/hide]
  2. tripsis posted a blog entry in tripsis' Art Blog
My dearest Book of Zamorak followers: Progress has been slow. I am overwhelmed with a huge art assignment that has greatly cut into the time that I have been able to spend on this book. But last night I spent like 2 hours finishing sewing the pages together! Hopefully I'll get the cover on this weekend, but no promises! Also, here's progress on my second piece for my art assignment: My second snow scene ever >_ EDIT: Painting #2 done -
  3. That's really awesome ;o Reminds me of Angels & Demons tbh :XD:
  4. Hmmm.. I'm pretty sure this is the weekend before my final exams :XD: Sucks, but I'm sure I'll still get a bit of time to play.
  5. Thanks for the tips, rik! They're much appreciated. I have two more paintings to do and then I'll come back to this one and make some changes.
  6. Cash is meant to be spent ;) At least you got on A on one of the stories! Love spending cash. It is the only way I can get levels up... lol... Spending cash forces you to use your money making skills to get more. SO in theory you get your skills up plus you get money. : ) Yeah, spending cash means you're being productive :) What's wrong with my outfit!?! D: :P I'm always doing something that requires me to conserve run energy so I don't want to wear much :P
  7. Thanks so much! I appreciate you taking the time to post! And sorry, I'm taken and couldn't be happier! :P
  8. Aw thanks :) Yes, these were all drawn and coloured in PhotoShop. In both pictures, I only used the hard round brush and soft airbrush.. except in the top picture I used a little bit of a custom brush on the ground. So no, no special brushes for the music sheets. I did, however, find real sheet music on Google and used some of the note patterns as a reference to make my own sheet music look realistic because I know [cabbage] about music notes and whatnot lol.
  9. That is a pro picture. Wish I could draw that well.. Very nice. Well hope to see you around. : ) Thanks! ------------------------- Haven't had any time for RuneScape but I did finish digital painting #1 :P It took 14.5 hours >_< If the others take that long, this art assignment will take me 43.5 hours to complete! I'm going to be pissed if I don't get an A, lol.
  10. Not sure if this is really RuneScape fan art since I took so many creative liberties, but whatever. It was inspired by RuneScape so there (and the scene is near the Chaos Temple in the wilderness if any of you actually know/remember where that is). It's my first time trying to draw/colour armour so go easy on me >_< I normally wouldn't call this done (I'd like to put more details/random [cabbage] in the background) but I'm pressed for time right now and need to get two other digital paintings done so I'm calling it done, though I may return to it at a later date. Also here's another painting from last week: Both of those are 25% of the original sizes btw.
  11. I normally would not call this finished, but it's complete enough for me to be content with submitting it as an assignment. Once I finish the other two pieces, if there is time I will return to this and add more details into the foreground around the skull and into the background near the pile of skulls. Total Time Spent: ~14.5 hours >_ File Size: 3750x3000 pixels Here's the final product at 25% zoom, as always: [hide=Details]These are screenshots taken at 100% zoom. [/hide] [hide=Work In Progress Screenshots]To see screenshots from before this point, view my previous blog entry. With the background more or less complete, I began shading the warrior. More shading, added detail to the chainmail under the armour, started to add minor details like cracks, smudges and other texture on the armour. Added several layers of highlights and more scratches/details. Started shading the sword blades/horns. I facepalmed later when I realized I forgot to shade the one on the helmet so I had to go back and do it XD Coloured the rubies on the hilt of the closest sword and started shading the hilt itself. Finished! [/hide] Now onto painting #2!!
  12. Not bad. As others have said, the lens flare is a biiiiiig no no D: In general, you should never use a lens flare, but any kind of PhotoShop filters will butcher a digital painting. Other than that, it's pretty good. Some parts are definitely better than others, though I understand that it's not finished. And, if I might ask, do you have an excessive-amount-of-birds fetish? XD Looking at this piece and your previous 15 minute speed painting, I see a pattern here.. :P Moving on.. The sky colours are.. weird.. though that might be partly because of the lens flare. It goes from dark (upper left) to way too blown out (right) for seemingly no reason at all. It's like two completely different atmospheres. I also agree with MrShinyredplanet that you could work on making colours pop more. Keep posting. We need more digital painting in this forum! (I myself am guilty of not posting here enough though..)
  13. My art professor is insane. For our fourth and final assignment in this class, we have to create THREE pictures >_ I'm currently working on digital painting #1. I have ideas for the other two and basically I'm going to be featuring warriors! These warriors are loosely based off of RuneScape, which is fun! Right now I'm thinking of doing a melee character (painting #1), a mage and a ranger. Now onto the first painting! This picture is based off a scene from the RuneScape wilderness. It can be one of the many areas in the wild with a lava river, but I based it off of this one near the Chaos Temple: The armour is also based on RuneScape armour but I took some creative liberties. There's also no dual wielding in RuneScape but I thought it would look cooler if I made that possible! Anyway.. here are screenshots of the paintings. They are listed in order of creation (so the first WIP up until the current image). The screenshots are only 25% of the original document size, as always. The original size is like 3750x3000 if I remember correctly. Also, it's not done yet, if that wasn't already obvious. [hide=Work In Progress Screenshots]I started off with a basic sketch of the character and scene. I then began colouring the background. About three hours in, I decided that I didn't like it.. I realized I was relying too much on the screenshot I took, using similar colours and a similar atmosphere.. but I didn't like the mood that it created. So having the initial sketch down, I pushed the screenshot completely out of my mind and worked from my imagination. I also began laying down the base colours for the warrior. A lot of progress has been made and the background may even be done. I haven't decided yet.. In my original sketch I had a few trees and I may decide to readd those. I feel like the land with the pile of skulls either needs more things on the ground or the skulls should be removed completely as they look random and almost out of place (same with the main land with the warrior on it). I finished laying down the base colours of the warrior. [/hide] I have been working on this for about 6 or 7 hours so far. I'm hoping to finish this piece by tomorrow and start working on #2 so stay tuned!
  14. Rellekka just because I don't have any other way of getting there since I'm a quest noob.
  15. Aww thank you! :) I agree that decorating my POH is some of the most fun I've had in RuneScape. I just.. LOVE IT! In a way I'll be sad when my house is done because there won't be anymore decorating to do :( Hey! I definitely do remember you, it's very good to see you! It's not about the xp though! :D Hehe it's really fun to watch all that money go bye bye. --------------------------------------- I probably won't be on RuneScape today for previously mentioned reasons :( Here's a very quick sketch of one of my pictures for my art assignment: It's definitely inspired by RuneScape. The scene is based on an area in the wildy  The armour is also somewhat RuneScape inspired but I took a lot of creative liberties XD
  16. Unfortunately I doubt I'll have much time for RuneScape this week and maybe next week too.. :( I just got a new art assignment where we have to make THREE pictures D: So that's at least like.. 30 hours of work if each piece takes an estimated 10 hours! Plus thinking of and sketching an idea adds on a few more hours. Eek! We'll see though... Also, I'm actually thinking of doing some RuneScape fan art for the assignment LOL :XD: I've been itching to do some (I have a runecrafting sketch but I doubt I'll use that for this assignment) but I haven't found the time.. so maybe I'll just work it into an assignment! I've made like 5k nats today (only, I know) and my cash pile is about 7 million which means I could buy another hellhound if I wanted :) But I might keep runecrafting until I have at least like 10-15m to spend.. I like splurging all at once, it's immensely satisfying.
  17. Odds are I will be asleep (sleeping past 1pm.. I know, I'm a sleepy head) but construction is my favourite skill so I thought I'd post anyway! Early congratulations!!!! Hope the party is fun and sorry I probably won't be able to make it! D:
  18. Pretty much my thoughts on the matter. If we have a philosophy subforum then why not a psychology subforum or a forum just for news articles or a forum for religion, etc. etc. I just don't see a philosophy subforum as necessary or particularly successful. I think religion, to some extent, belongs under Philosophy. As for the others, because they're not that popular. I can't see a Psychology sub-forum popular at all for instance. Those were just random examples. Philosophy doesn't seem all that popular to me either.. at least not on its own. Philosophy overlaps a lot of topics but not all topics are entered into with the intent of being a philosophical discussion.. many topics simply turn into that over time. The subforums we have now are there because many discussions are started with that topic in mind, but I have not seen many discussions start with philosophy in mind. It's something that people draw into a pre-existing discussion.. at least from what I've seen. I don't think it would exist well on its own because it overlaps so many different topics that are already discussed in Off-Topic. It would be a strain to try to channel those topics into a different forum or pick and choose where they belong (in Off-Topic or the hypothetical Philosophy subforum). And actually, news articles and religion topics pop up all the time :P (well religion is integrated into many different topics).
  19. Same here. I tried Firefox but.. meh. I'm not good when it comes to changing interfaces :P And in terms of function, I have never had any problems with Safari so I don't see any reason to switch.
  20. I just watched The Duchess. Pretty good movie though I didn't like the ending.. but since it was based on a true story I guess there wasn't much freedom for them there :P

  22. Thank you! I saw Shutter Island. It was good ;) I used the Abyss for a few runs. My Graahk had run out and I only needed to do 3 more runs so I just used the Abyss for those. I didn't want to get another Graahk because I was going to do something other than RCing after the level and it would seem like a waste.
  23. Maybe they didn't want to! :P Things like that can be said about sooo many movies and books though :P As dizzle229 said, taking the easy way out like that doesn't make for a very good story. One I thought of a few weeks ago (but on a MUCH smaller scale): in Heroes season 2 I think it was, Peter exerts soooooo much energy trying to open a vault when he has the power to walk through walls and stuff.. he could have just walked through effortlessly? XD
  24. We don't have tons of time :P No more than other people anyway. We have assignments just like everybody else (hence my 12 hour assignment up there :XD:). Also, when majoring in art it is HIGHLY recommended that you major in something else as well, but at my university at least, art has the most required classes to take, making it the most difficult major to double up with... D: And thanks! ;) That means juggling all 3 makes you like a god. Teach please. *goddess! :P Random fact: I got 90 runecrafting on 10 December, 2oo6. Talk about being slow :P I'm hoping I can really power through these last three levels though. Finally getting 99 after all this time would be amazing.
