A little recap: You can only do Tears of Guthix once per week. The 'minigame' usually takes 1-2 minutes or so (estimate). The amount of time you have in the game depends upon the number of quest points you have - the more quest points, the longer amount of time you have. I believe the average amount of experience earned per game is about 5k (this number depends on how many points you get). So if your brother played Tears of Guthix once a week and got 5k xp in construction per game, it would take him approximately 20 weeks (or 5 months) to get to level 50. So no, I would say that it's not worth it to spend 5 months getting 50 construction. It would probably take you less than a week to make the appropriate amount of gp necessary for 50 construction and raise it to level 50.
  2. To the extent of my knowledge, I don't even think you can flatpack Oak Larders  Either way, building and removing is always faster than flatpacking. Why? When you flatpack, you have to navigate through two option windows instead of one. So my recommendation to you would be to have a Demon Butler and build and remove Oak Larders until level 74. Once you're level 74, build and remove Oak Doors in the dungeon. Using these methods, you should get between 150k and 250k xp per hour :)
  3. Its not that theyre not respected... just respected less Well that's what I'm basically saying.. Why is it that people look down on buyable skills and think, "Oh, it's just 99 herblore, that's so easy to buy." Yes, you can buy it, yes money does speed up the process, but getting the money can take months on its own. Then after you have all the supplies, you still have to spend another few weeks getting to level 99. With a buyable skill, you essentially have to do two skills. You have to do the mundane skill to get the money (i.e. mining, runecrafting , woodcutting, or even merchanting), then after that you still have to train the skill that you want 99 in.

  5. Moved to Help & Advice, since it is actually a question  Grr I used to have a screenshot that showed the exact amount of food/antis I used, but I can't find it :wall: Hopefully my memory serves correct. - I had about 300 super antis and 1k anti-poisons. But I do know that I did not use all my regular anti-poisons. - I started Plundering at level 75 and it took me two weeks to get 99. So the materials you have should get you pretty far. If you need to buy more of anything, it'll probably just be monkfish. If you need help/more information about Pyramid Plunder, you could check out this guide: :: Pyramid Plunder Guide - Fastest Experience :: (AOW Guide)
  6. Why does everyone think that 'buyable' skills are so terrible (or not respected, I'll say)? :-k Yes, they can be bought, but that doesn't mean that the money for the skill just appears out of thin air. It takes a long time to make the gp necessary to train those skills.
  7. Looks like we already have a thread about this :) Thanks for the link!
  8. Trust me, Oak Larders is a lot faster. The more planks you use up at once, the more experience you get. Lets think about this: Oak Larders - 8 planks per larder = 480 xp per larder - Navigate through one window Carved Oak Tables - 6 planks per table = 360 xp per table - Navigate through two windows - You have to drop or bank your tables So not only are Oak Larders more experience per piece of furniture, but you go through less steps to make them. If you're making Carved Oak Tables, you have to navigate through one more window and either drop or bank your tables. All that extra time adds up.
  9. Maybe add something about Oak Doors? It's level 74 to make them. That's what I used to 99. It's about 200k - 250k experience per hour. EDIT: I see devial1 already mentioned that :P
  10. Locked~Spam. This does not create a descent Runescape-related discussion.
  11. I value skills over items. I've had several party hats in my time of playing Runescape, but sold all of them eventually. Having a party hat, or another 'cool' or 'rare' item, may have been fun for a while but the thrill always died down. After a while I would start thinking, "Okay, I'm hanging onto a paper hat. What's the point of this? To show it off?" It just seemed so stupid to me. The only thing that makes a party hat rare is that other players say so. So by my philosophy, since other players say it's rare, the only reason to keep one would be to show off to those other players.. something that I don't particularly enjoy. But skills are valued and are, in my opinion, the main aspect of the game. Most of the items in the game only exist to aid you in raising skills. That leads me to believe that skills are actually more important. For me, getting level 99 in a skill - the maximum level - makes me feel much more accomplished than obtaining a certain item.
  12. Congratulations!  Good luck with 75~! What's next, when that's completed?
  13. Sixteen 8-)
  14. Locked, for two reasons. For starters, this would belong in Tech & Computers. Although, Tip.it does not support bypassing filters, firewalls, etc. set down by your parents, guardian or school. If you really want to play Runescape again, you're going to have to talk to your aunt about it and get on her good side
  15. Well none of us can really predict the economy and how/if it will change, so it really comes down to you just making a decision on which you would rather do first. If I were in your shoes, I would choose Runecrafting.. Just because I like it
  16. Yes, registration has temporarily been disabled by the administrators for various confidential reasons. Hopefully it will be back up soon, but if not, your friend will just have to be patient.
  17. Stop me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this is really an achievement? :? This forum is for posting your goals, achievements, stats, bank pictures, etc. and having people rate those. Not just random things that you do in-game.
  18. Since I'm guessing this is not something that you personally created, I agree with penguingeek3. This would probably be better suited in the Video Game subforum.
  19. Please fill out the appropriate form in the following sticky for searching for a gang member: Wanted: Gang Member! sticky. Best of luck finding someone!
  20. The administrators have a reason for temporarily closing registrations. So certainly don't think that they just did it for the heck of it. Hopefully they will be able to be opened soon, but you'll just have to be patient.
  21. Tripsis to the rescue!!! On Tip.it we do not permit our users to request donations, because it can be viewed as begging. In addition, all questions/pleas for help belong in the skill subforum of Help & Advice (since you're asking for help with Slayer). You're welcome to create another goal thread if you wish, we just request that you do not beg people to give you donations to help with your goal.
  22. Exactly. That could particularly happen in places like RuneScape Bugs & Suggestions, Rate This and Player-Made Guides. If someone posts that they don't like the author's idea (in bugs & suggestions), the author could get upset and just delete that post. Someone could give the author of a 'Rate This' thread a lower rating, and the author may delete that post because they're not happy with it. Or same thing with Player-Made Guides. So we'd either have to deal with people deleting posts that they shouldn't, or create a ton more work on the administrators' part by having them moderate who's deleting what posts.
  23. I think that this is very similar to locking your own thread and could be heavily abused. People may delete someone's post just because they don't like that person (even though they didn't say anything bad), etc. I think our current system works fine. Just report the first spammy/flamy post on your thread and say, "Could you please clear my thread of spam/flames" and a moderator will probably do so shortly.
  24. Skill: Construction Experience per hour: 190k - 250k Method: Under 74 - Oak Larders; 74 and over - Oak Doors (in the dungeon) I also used the Demon Butler. If you want to get the full 250k, he's necessary since he's the fastest.
  25. Here's another one to add to your list  (This is for Runescape-related goals and achievements only)
