The most stupid scam was during last years (2005) christmas update when Jagex included a huge christmas tree in the centre a Varrock. For some stupid reason scammers used this tree to create the 'Shovel scam' which is where a scammer would swear blind that if you dug under the tree 100 times you would get a Santa hat! And of course the scammer would be kind enough to sell people shovels at the once again kind price of between 1k - 5k each. I asked one of these scammers why he happened to suddenly have such a large amount of shovels for sale and he replied "i went 2 da fally shovel spawn 2 help all these people get santas" What a nice and kind guy! :wink:

The majority are dumb 12 year old boys using a girl charecter to scam a gulible male charecter. Or just very lonely people looking to have a relationship on a game :P Sorry for the viewpoint, but I really hate seeing all these scammer boys.

Witch hunt? It seems that you are saying that macroing isn't an offense.. Do you like it when you cannot sell anything in certain worlds for all the auto-typers? And I do report as I see it, I have never gone 'in search of ofenders'. But out of all the messeges thanking me for reporting abuse (just 4 :P) I know that not one of them is for reporting a macoer.

Trustworthy people: Ok forget that, it doesn't matter, because how would someone un-trustworthy make a difference? Apart from probably not reporting like the rest of the group, they can do nothing. jagex already bans people macroing in world 1? I think not..[/b]

1. Not spying in any way, seeing someone selling something in a market is not spying :roll: It is completly public. 2. Yes we are a tool, what is the report abuse button for? 3. The people in the group would not just call out a random player, either the leader of the group would call, or a player mod if one wants to join this. Even if we do make a bad report, the player would not be banned because they didn't do anything wrong.

Forgot to say, a group of between 8 and 16 people would work great. Too many and it gets disorganised. :) Heh, that would be cool.

What a time to do this :D With Jagex now saying they have banned a huge amount of people for macroing, it seems that Jagex are taking an intrest in reports. If you were to go to World 1, it's very easy to spot someone using a programe to their advantage; programes which automatically type for them. This is of course macroing. The chances of action being taken on a report is significantly increased by having more than one person report the same offence in 60 seconds. Power in numbers :wink: Here's my proposition; a group of honest, trustworthy people go to world 1, identify a macroer (being completly sure that they are macroing, i.e: typing a fully coloured, moving sale sentance twice a second), make sure everyone in the group has identified, and all report that single peson at the same time. It will make a minute dent in the macroing population, but if we can get some high level players banned, it will be worth it. I'm talking about people's main accounts (if they're stupid enough to use it for macroing). Anyone like the 'Good, Old Fashioned Banning' idea?

Hey, have no idea how to sort this problem out my self.. :( On about half of the London servers I use don't load properly, they all stop loading once it gets to 'Loading interface - 45%' Other servers work, but as I'm in england they are slower for me. Any one know what's wrong? (Windows xp home, internet explorer, broadband, don't know what else to mention...)

*?!?!? dude that's impossible... No, lol, depends how long you've been playing.. I hate the frog event too now, I got my first at level 65 and between 65 and 70 I got 8 more.. which I dropped..

Wow, that's crazy... If you're under 13 now you should not be playing, doesn't affect me as I'm 16 but the amount of people I see in this game that behave like 12 year olds.. I hope Jagex actually do release their grip on censorship now, are they calling the limit at 13 to match the english Film Certificate Ratings which are at 12a (adult accompaniment if under 13)?

^^ As said by Cmon, the population of a world significantly changes the spawn rate, the slowest i've seen coal spawn at is around a minute and a half, double your estimation! :shock:

Sorry for your loss Jon, you should get into the habbit of logging off if you think you'll be away for more than like 10 seconds, I know it's a hassle, but in this case it would have saved you millions.

Brilliant, best piece of writting I've seen about Runescape, can't wait for the next edition :D Heh, pretty much what happened to me when I started RS2. But I thought there was PKilling right inside lumbridge castle because i saw a level 10 fighting a level 2 man! I sort of snuck round higher levels hoping they wouldn't kill me.. :oops:
