That's a really really good point. From personal experience, I didn't really care about getting 99 in anything... now, I'm setting myself 'training schedules' so I can get it in certain skills. I still wouldn't care if it wasn't for the capes.

Nor is it funny spelled horribly wronng. just cause his sig is spelt incorrectly. that doesn't mean he cant spell, its ment to be spelt like that lol mems spell everything wrong *looks at hardy* ment is spelled meant + spelt is spelled spelled Actually 'spelt' is correct. 'Spelt' & 'spelled' are both gramatically correct. In personal experience, I've only ever seen 'spelt' used in that context. ok my bad im a math student anyways lol ty for the correction u sent it twice? Yeah... I must have accidently double-clicked 'submit.' #-o

aren't you supporting tipit simply by posting on the forum? Or did you mean financial support?

The boat at Burgh De Rott "It's not a schooner it's a sailboat!" And the Ogre Standard 'Pretty low' Sorry if these have been done before

But if someone who's been playing long enough and is dedicated enough to get 99 in a skill hasn't become a member already, would a skillcape really entice them to become a member when nothing else has?
-
Absolutely. Any level 99 is something to be proud of - even the ones that can be 'bought' like fletching. To get that 99 when there's less ways for you to boost the experience recieved is - to me anyway - an incredible achievement.

And whenever I see a F2P'er saying 'but ads bring in money!' I can't help wonder how many of them actually click on the ads.
-
However, i F2P only gets part of the stuff, why would any P2Pers leave? Snce they get the now F2P stuff, and more, there would be no reason to quit. Perhaps. But Jagex makes their money off the P2P players, so why risking alienating them? Brilliant idea.

The main thing that struck me about the article was the comment about 'reasonable playing time' and the complaint that Jagex doesn't tell you what is a reasonable amount of time to play. What is reasonable for one, isn't for another. I have played Runescape on and off for many years and the amount of time I played depended on which stage of life I was at. As a highschool student, 2 hours on weekends if my assignments were done. As an unemployed, unmotivated, 20 years old, six hours a day - usually between 10pm & 4am. As a full time worker? A few hours most evenings, depending on what time my partner finished work. As a full time mother? Three hours on the evening my partner works when my son has gone to bed. Like a lot of other complaints in the article, time spent playing is at player or parental discretion. Perhaps if parents tried actually parenting their children now days instead of leaving it up electronic baby sitters, there'd be a lot less complaining about avoidable situations.

Offtopic - Do people still have internet plans where they pay by the hour? I thought that all plans were unlimited hours now

BUZZZT! I'm sorry you lose! *points at username* I have Chicky in my nickname for a reason. That reason is because no man (not even a trannie) would have boobs like mine. Like becki, I play when I need to take time off from being a wife and mother. (The uni student as well as working? Girl, I take my hat off to you!) And I am sick and expletive tired of guys asking me to go out with them just cause I'm female. I have a partner thank you and he's a mid lvl ranger! (Uh just to clear that up - my husband plays as well.)
-
Just to join in with everyone else: I'm 25 and have been playing for years, my partner is nearly 31 and he's been playing six months. (We've started settling household debates in the duel arena. Who ever loses does the dishes... GO! ) I will say this though - just make sure she's not feeling neglected or that you'd prefer playing to spending time with her. But also point out that 5 bucks a month for pretty much unlimited game time and entertainment is a great bargain.

Interesting. On my last receipt for membership, it was listed as less than that. Perhaps the exchange rate has gone insane in the 2 days since the payment was taken out?
-
I'm 25. My boyfriend is 30. We both play for a couple of hours a day. I will stop when it stops being fun. Simple as that. And if you think it's bad when you tell them your 17, you should see how bad the reactions are when you tell them you're a parent!

I'm not worried about losing my benefits. It's called 'getting what you pay for'. I pay my car insurance so that I am covered in case of an accident, not so my neighbour is covered in case of an accident. I pay my mortage so I can keep a roof over my families head, not to keep a roof over my friends head. I pay my membership fee so I can access the extra stuff, not so that someone with entitlement issues can access the extra stuff. Those of us paying membership fees help provide the money so that the game can keep being updated. Nothing in life is for free and you get what you pay for. Although having said that, I agree that the skill capes should be available to everyone. It's a huge achievement, especially when the non members have less items/quests/events etc to help boost them
-
Correct, you are paying a membership fee to get tons of new areas, monsters, skills, and items. Just because F2P gets something doesn't warrant any reason to get angry. As I have said before: "It does not affect you, so don't worry about it!" Oh that's not me getting angry over it. Angry involves some rather creative cursing and swearing. That's just irritation at the way all these people seem to think they should be rewarded just for having an account.
-
I'm not paying my membership fee so some idiot with entitlement issues can have the same stuff for free that everyone else pays for. If you want the extra stuff, you pay for it. That's how the world works. Better get used to now.
-
I'm sure this is going to annoy the F2Pers, but oh well. It's simple. You get what you pay for. If you go to a fast food place and order a small meal, and your friend orders a large meal that includes a free cd, would you seriously expect to get the CD as well? If you bought a DVD and someone else pays extra for the special edition and gets an extra disk of bonus features, would you complain that you didn't get the extra disk? Of course not. And don't reply complaining 'But that's different!' unless you can give me a very good reason as to why it's different.

Uh, Hi. I'm ChickyBee32, I've been playing RS (this time round) for about 18 months. I played quite a few years before that when RSC was the standard. Um... I'm not in any clans, I'm broke as Hell, and my fav skills are (currently) Herblore & Thieving.

I'm sorry if this has been posted somewhere before, but I did several searches and couldn't find it. The clue is "Look in the drawers upstairs in houses in East Ardougne." I;ve been through every house (well... I'm fairly sure I have) and can't find anything. Any suggestions, tips or answers?
