  1. No, it wouldn't help you hit more. It would be the difference between a 0-0 special and a 16-10 special, though. Oh, really? The KB says they only do accuracy. Plus, it would be a bit unfair if it boosted the max hit of rangers' because then the mage prayers wouldn't be able to raise the max (or I assume so since every spell, except for slayer dart, has a finely established max hit already). Look at the other thread about new max hit with ranging, I posted a pic with increased damage there with 99 range :-)
  2. if they could hit 180... we would be seeing lvl 30's and 40's with fire capes #-o all they need is 43 prayer and 70+ range and mage lvl to enchant Refer to the part where those bolts don't hit much, and the spec hits once in a blue moon :P
  3. In 100 d stone bolts I hit nothing past a 42, and that in between low-powered shots that were of no threath. And that was with 99 range, again. Maybe you can get extremely lucky and hit a lucky 60, but that'll be surrounded by 0s as the crossbow barely hit rune, and forget about barrows =/ Trust me, I really gave those bolts a chance, I was extremely excited at their coming, and they were a huge let-down for me =/ I'm still using my cbow and msb :P And Reb, well, neither you or me know the future, so let's wait a bit and see for ourselves, then.
  4. To be honest, that's to vague to come anywhere close to answering his question  . In fact, I actually think that they only said attack in that behind the scenes edition.. That's quoted directly from the behind the scene : "Later this month we release a new batch of prayers, this time adding the ability to temporarily boost your ranged and magic attacks with prayers like ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅHawk EyeÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  5. "All these new additions will match the existing attack and strength boosting prayers." I think that'll answer your question, that's quoted from the behind the scene. Anyway, wait probably 11 hours and you'll have your answer for sure ;) I do hope it'll make us, rangers, hit higher. I have 99 range, and I have the KO power of a noob with 60 strenght and a dds =/ I just hits all the darn time, but that just makes people run away, not die. so 15 percent of the current max hit with a rune arrow, specing, is a bit above 3, but let's round down to 3. So 24-24 specs are possible :) Better :P The max hit with a cbow is 25, potted and with 99 range, and that becomes a 3,75 damage increase :) 28-29, heheeh.
  6. Shame that you had to learn it the hard way, but it's the same thing for most items really : crystal bows, rings of recoil, rings of forging, they all share the same charges =/
  7. It all depends on your luck, I tried it on KBD with my clan and it usually happened once per kill, and the bolts are so bad anyway I never got any of the kills. If you want a good damage comparison, at 99 range with my clan I almost always get the kills, with the enchanted ruby bolts, I got no kill at all. Even if it makes for spectacular damages if you're lucky, they're too poor otherwise. I hate the bolts :P Oh, and Karil's Crossbow doesn't accept the new bolts, Karil's bow has too much taste :P
  8. No, they still are very bad, they're too slow. Even if you hit a 40 with it, I can hit two 22s easily during the reload period of a single crossbow shot.
  9. I tend to switch to accurate against heavy barrows foes, and I usually don't regret it :P
  10. We have both the gliders and the spirit trees, so I doubt we're gettign a tele gnome spell... I don't think we're getting any new spells at all. We've just had the Lunars. However look at the crossbow update, that has totally unbalnced the combat triangle Jagex may be tryin to balance it. Maybe it has sime summoning spells. That'll shut people up for a week then they complain. Have you even tried the new bolts and crossbow? I can hit two 25s with a crystal bow, very accurate and to a long range, while I can *HOPE* to have a 1/30 chance to hit a 40 with bolts that cost me about 10k per shot... And that's if it hits, since they're not accurate. And even if I hit a normal 20 with the dragon bolt, I could have hit 3 20s during that single shot with a MSB, and 4 if I speced. The crossbows are way too slow, inaccurate, and unreliable (the specials have low chances of happening, except the poison bolts, which only poison for 3 anyway) This update seems very interesting, though :-) Oh, and btw, "true rangers" as you called them exist, I'm one of those :P 99 range, 70 def, 54 atk (quests mostly :P)
  11. Rangers didn't NEED anything at that point. You can still OWN someone with any sort of range gear on with rune knives or darts. To even think how many unused weapons rangers have makes me dispise them. Instead of simply making new this new that, how about jagex FIXES something for once. How about making javelins useful, how about making darts purchasable, how about making weapon poison add to more arrows, how about making dragon thrown weapons... How about making the rune thrownaxe useful... There are so many broken things in ranging and now they get new, but even more broken weapons. Its so sad. When was the last time anyone used a javelin, thrownaxe, or longbow in combat? How about fixing those, jagex. I'm tired of having millions of useless quests on my quest list. I'm tired of having updates happen like combination runes that nobody uses. I'm tired of new caves that drop 1 weapon that nobody uses, I'm just TIRED of USELESS updates like these that everyone will forget a month from now. Great, you can do something with emeralds besides make 50 rings of dueling. Great, now duelers have super expensive onyx bolts to drain the economy with. GREAT, I was actually getting my hopes up for this. I'm so tired of half-***ed updates. I don't care if it would take them 2 months to flush out a decent update, they could do something about fixing the broken things in their game while they're developing. Jagex really offended me with this one. I see it offended you, I don't see why. Every game needs update that are insignificant to the game, either that or rare significiant ones (see WoW, DAoC) with nothing in between. Jagex selected to do smaller updates with no real impact on the game to fill in the gaps, which I personally like.
  12. That's downright deadly :ohnoes: This update is trash. Ranging was fun because it was so simple. Custimization is for mages. Ranging is simple. Fighting is exciting and unpredictable. now jagex, stop changing it. It should always be: Warriors: Unpredictable and costly, average Rangers: Predictable and cheap, simple Mages: Specialized and expensive, complex With the new updates like barrows gloves, defenders, and lunar magics... Warriors: Simple Rangers: Expensive, Specialized, complex, unpredictable, simple when used correctly Mages: Specialized, costly. It used to be where you targeted the warriors first, and mages were in cheap robes and rangers wore dainty outfits. Thanks to the new update, it is useless to kill a ranger. The only thing you get out of it is dragonhide, and MAYBE a crossbow worth 60k. Oh goodie, i just used a super set and 15 sharks for this. And if they protect the crossbow, you just wasted food for another set of dragonhide, because they don't drop ammo or gloves and usually not cape. Now everyone targets mages and warriors, because at least they drop their ammo and their robs are more expensive. This is such a lame update... And yes, I am complaining because I am not a ranger. I'm sure, if I were a ranger, that I would be dancing. But you know what? Its UNFAIR that mages got such a junk update like lunar magic that is useful for NOTHING but farming. Now we get rangers who drop nothing in the wildy and who just kill everyone at staking. And warriors, go you. Now you can kill mages with a simple dagger. Jagex officially ruined the wildy with this one... it was already ruined, but this sent it over the edge. Edgeville, I should say. I hated the simplicity of ranging, so this update is wonderful for me. And Lunar might not be all combat based, but what did rangers get while mages got the super powerful ancients? Ogre bow? I rest my case, all classes have their turn.
  13. The spells that affect other players can only be cast in multi combat wildy.
  14. I got to agree with the previous poster, PC is completely ridiculous xp. I got my 99th ranging level faster than my 90th, and I spent about a third of the time. If Jagex doesn't change it, I'll still use it because otherwise I'll fall behind level-wise, but I seriously hope Jagex does something.
  15. You can actually still miss with the spec, sadly, you just need a lot of bad luck/a low range level to do so :P I guess that with (s) rune arrows, being sure to hit would be nice since you But yeah, MSB spec is complete junk, even at 111 range I hit incredibly badly with it (I mean come on, 7-8? Who am I supposed to kill with that kind of spec :P)
  16. Yep, when you killed someone at the beginning of RSC everyone saw the loot at once, and if someone else was on the pile, you couldn't take the items... That was really nice, wasn't it? (Sarcasm, of course, RS2 pking is a lot more interesting and diversified. And I wouldn't say RS is falling apart lol, more the opposite)
  17. Higher magic level doesn't increase accuracy... it's the gear you have on that does. It's the same thing for ranged. I don't know about magic, as I'm no mage, but I'm a level 98 ranger, who never used cannon (so all my xp comes from actual shooting, so I know how it works), and who is getting 99 this week, and I can tell you your wrong, Moopy. I say that with all due respect, you're a good poster Moopy, but that's completely off track :P Just look at a level 70 ranger in full black d hide, robin, ranger boots, glory and a level 99 ranger, same gear, potted, and admire the immense 0 collection that the first ranger will have against full melee barrow, while the 99 potted will hit pretty good ;) If you don't believe me, I'll be more than happy to demonstrate you in game, my RSN is True_Cabbage
  18. Yeah, Malignus summons mushrooms, Melzar summons cabbages O.o Malignus talks about Melzar a bit, too, if I remember well ;)
  19. My ex-main, Tetrak, is a Necromancer :P Yes, magic was separated in evil and good magic before, and necromancer had a boost in evil, and wizards in good :P anyway :P My new main, True_Cabbage, is a ranger
  20. You lost the 180k from the recharge cost, but you gained a new crystal seed :) So it's overall not that bad :P
  21. Look me up, True_Cabbage, 98 range, the max hit with a cbow is 25, potted.
  22. The second floor of Varrock's Museum is nearly always empty, and so is the huge house with a second floor that is to the North East of Falador.
  23. You certainly like them enough to still play their game  I hate little whiners like you And as the person above me stated, you can still host drop partie on the RS forums, you just have to state where it is.
  24. Once I get my next ranging level I'll be happy to duel any mage, even if they have 99 mage (I'll have 99 range :P). And something tells me I'll be the one winning :P My RSN is True_Cabbage, for those of you who might want to challenge me.
