Those are awesome RC levels, I don't see how you do it.

Rares have flatlined the last 6 months. If any time's the time to get them, it's now. I got the 3 that I have through skills, it's not too hard actually.

I apologize for how harsh I came off. I tend to be very "protective" of the staff (especially these two) because I see them get run through the wringer all the time. Not much of what I said made sense. I'm pretty sure what set me off were things that your posts appeared to say but really didn't. It seems to me that events don't belong in GP2P. Granted they'll get the most exposure there, but my understanding is that GP2P is a catchall. A subfoum might still not get much exposure, looking at the Debate Club on rants. That's a good thing for DC, but not a good thing for events. Once again, I offer my embarrassed apologies.

This is true - but from what I see, most people win by the 10th run at the outside. That's 20 hours of gameplay. 20 hours of fletching would get me oh, 4,000,000 xp. If we factor in buying and selling, maybe 3,500,000 xp.

Yeah, I agree with that - but NOT that it's somehow harder to get than skill capes. In the end, we're gonna be split into "non-combat lovers" vs "combat lovers" on the relative difficulty of the capes.

Yeah, that's the thing. Making the cash to buy the "easiest" 99 skill takes a lot of time and skill, IMO. Everything in RS is time and luck based, so we're really drawing an artificial distinction here. Yes, I'd even say that fire cape fights are.

I get really tired of people bleating that RC pkers perform some sort of valuable service to the runescape community. That's hogwash. Yew prices continue to be between 250 and 300 even with hundreds of autoers. I'm not sure nature prices would fall much, if at all, were pkers removed entirely. Pure essence prices would see to that.

Wow, I'd quit RS if that ever happened. Nothing to really debate here, IMO.

Yew and String prices have shot up, but not yew long prices, so I'm not sure that works.

I'm not a "pure" skiller, but I do it because it's FUN. That's the point of Runescape, to have fun. It doesn't have to make sense to you. It's almost like asking - "Oh my gosh, why isn't everyone MALE? It's so awesome!" You have to realize that maybe we look at combat people and say - what the heck, how's THAT fun?? :D

Jagex focuses on combat, this is no exception. Perhaps the combat capes should have focused advantages, but I'd love my skillcape even if it were bonusless.
