Well at least it sounds as if you concede that it is torture. i think who it happens to is a topic for another thread, as tbh, i know v little about who actually gets tortured in the US.

Yeah, please post a reason for your opinions or you'll end up with the reputation of Robert. Anyway, you say torture is torture, but you still haven't proven to me that it's torture. There's no harm being done to the person it's happening to. No physical harm. I think its a little naive to say all torture is physical. It IS. Phsycological harm doesn't matter, if it gets us the information we want without killing the guy, then so be it. And you're not going to get you're information if they don't feel like they're being harmed. Tbh, stop acting like we're just grabbing random people and doing this to them. If it's happening, there's a good reason. How can you say psychological harm doesen't matter, you might as well just cut their legs off, the amount of psychological damage you could do could do more damage to a persons life.

To me, torture is giving either mental or physical suffering on an unwilling person, to gain information etc. This definately falls under mental suffering, god knows how much doing this to somebody repeatedly scars them mentally, but it also gives the feeling of physical suffering, it does no perminent physical damage (that i know of) but it makes the person feel as though it is.

How is it not torture?

Unlike all other releases, we have the vital information NOW. This topic has basically become a discussion of the 78 Slayer/114 Combat specifications of the new monster, which could have been easily discussed after the update. Of course, the drop may change the final opinion of the monster, but for now it's enough to know that they put it at a lower level than many slayers would like. The thing is, we have none of the vital information. All we know about is this single monster that will require level 78 slayer. We Don't know about the update it will come with, we don't know what other creatures will come at the same time as it, we don't know what it will drop which will determine it's desirability to kill, we don't know how hard it will be to kill, we don't even know how many of them there will be. For all we know, this could be a single monster in a massive slayer update later in the year which brings out multiple high level slayer monsters. For all we know, they already have names for the others, which is all they want for this one, something planned to get the players involved with a large update, naming one of the many creatures to be introduced. We know nothing. Everything is an assumption.

Erm, it's not torture. It produces the feeling of torture, which sucks for the person being tortured,but really if the government is doing it it's for a damn good reason, and besides, there's no risk. Still, good to see this guy actually went and did it instead of just being an armchair politician. Torture is torture, wether its for a reason somebody thinks is good or not, hell, all the torturing in the middle ages was done because people thought it was the right thing to do, but it was torture non-the-less. Its good that they give it a go to see what people have to go through, now if only somebody who could make a big impact on it would try it.

Well thats only a guess from seeing players use the quick chat 'i have x sc points' while at sc, i've seen people say well over 2k before.

Its over 2k i know that. (points) I don't think there is an actual limit.

Yeah, i'm all for that,id hate anybody flaming a real picture of somebody else, its disrespectful, but when its an obvious fake picture like his was, he really brought it upon himself.

Wow if you can all write that much when we are only naming it, just think how much you will be writing when they release it and its nothing like anybody has assumed, like almost all rs updates people debate pre-release.

Thats the big dillema, personally i wouldnt mind if jagex released the game under a false company brand and it started jsut as runescape, then telling everybody they made it about a year after release. I think there will be way to many power-levellers straight away which will ruin the fun to be honest.

Sorry lala, but actually it does double hp exp aswell as the melee skill your training (or range/mage) Also, you don't have to wear the corresponding armour to the skill you want to train, wearing any peice of the armour will double any magic, ranged or melee exp you get. So you can wear the ranged gear, and get double mage or melee exp etc.

We should so compete with mechscape world and become the #1 mechscape fansite. Tip.it/mechscape ;) I also heard that mechscape will be aimed at a higher age group than rs.

Wow it almost is a year since the switch...Naysayers about the switch failed. :) Direct upload would be nice, but really it's not hassling anyone that much. Its one of those 'might as well do it' updates.

You know what else is useless? Gp. You can't do anything with them, it kind of sucks. Exaclly, might as well hav something nice looking to wear than a cash pile nobody can see.

^ Would have eben easier to figure out if there was a title in each part in the corner, just 'mage' in the mage one etc. Also runes stucking outof the bag.
