  1. "Do you believe in God?" God, that was such a boring topic.
  2. I'm not saying that rap music is flawless. Just as in any genre you have got exceptionally good musicians, and exceptionaly bad ones. Saying you avidly hate the rap genre because of a lack of musical quality is ignorant. And saying that nobody can convince you is extremely arrogant. Seeing no musical quality in metal music is nonsense as well. Another clear example of an ignorant forum user. Man, is it fashionable to be stupid these days? EVERY form of music, has got musical quality in it. You can not ignore or counter that. It is true. That you do not like it is something else. But you CANNOT deny that there is musical quality. People should learn the difference.
  3. El Aura - A little dissapointing. Infact, I didn't like it all. It was weird, it didn't fit. Never got close to the characters. Which is quite important for a thriller. Here and there some nice moments. The music was annoying. 5/10 Tony Takitani - Was as expected very good. But unexpected became the best movie of the festival so far, for me. Really great, relaxed and subtle Japanese story. Lonelyness, materialism, you name it. Great narration which had a cool combination with the narration-character saying a line-narration continues. Very well shot, although the slides became a little bit too much after a while. Nontheless very much worth it! Brilliant score. A true recomendation! So far seven movies at the festival in three days. :) Wish I took a week of vacation this week so I could go with him. In total he's seeing 36 movies, I only got time for 12. :(
  4. Actually, you don't. And actually, I can. You say you can not hear the quality in rap music and R 'n B. That's your flaw, not the music's. Because there certainly is a lot of musical and lyrical quality in those forms of music. And you don't acknowledge that. So. You're ignorant. Because you blame the music for your lack of musical ear. And thus your reply can be safely ignored.
  5. Well, then you're just ignarant and we can safely ignore your reply. :)
  6. Ugh, Scarface. See the old one. It's much better. And pre-hays, so still interesting. :) Tonight the third film by the sea festival day for me. Going to see: El Aura and Tony Takitani :)
  7. Yesterday another festival night (aah, home at 02:30 in the middle of the night) and now I need to open the show in half an hour (09:00 in the morning) I'm tirredddz! Anyway, I saw... Scoop - good woody allen. Had great laughs. It's another crime story, just as in MATCH POINT, but whereas MP was more serious this movie was a lot lighter, giving a lot of laughs. Scarlett Johanson was great, and she even got the honer to be presented as a true Woody Allen in the opening scene of the movie. Johanson and Allen were a great movie troughout the movie, despite the age difference you could really feel the chemistry. I enjoyed it a lot. Elementarteilchen (Elementary Particles) wereas SCOOP was so funny, this movie was very heavy and depressing drama, with sometimes little jokes of which me and my friend seemed to be the only ones getting them. As everything was so stiff and snobby, you know rich 50+ers. That feel interesting because they see a foreign language movie. It was the opening of the literature program of the festival, so that's why, I think.. Anyway, story was interesting. Acting and music was powerfull. Though I still feel they held back during the ending. Could've been more extreme and would've fit better IMO. But I don't know how that was in the book, so I'm even going to read the book. There were some messy parts in the movie though. Still a recommendation for you dramalovers out there.

    The normal one. The arrow.
  9. Oh, Indy. Zwartboek is a real recommenation as well. I don't know if it is going to get an american release. But I'm sure you'll get around getting it. :) You need one with sub though, as it is a dutch/german spoken movie. But you should certainly see it! Great war thriller. And I don't say that easy, because I'm not into war movies. :P
  10. The computer is just the thing you can get it trough. Not the form of entertainment. The question is not: what's your favorite machine: Computer, DVD-player, Printer, CD-player or television. The question is: what's your favorite form of entertainment: Reading, watching movies, listening music, playing videogames etc. An what form of entertainment you need the most. And.
  11. Yea, it looks like you haven't got any friends now. :P
  12. George: Lorraine, my density has bought me to you. Lorraine: What? George: Oh, what I meant to say was... Lorraine: Wait a minute, don't I know you from somewhere? George: Yes. Yes. I'm George, George McFly. I'm your density. I mean... your destiny. Hehe, made me think of this.
  13. He said you can list only five bands. Instead of acting cool with posting all the bands in your playlist.
  14. Alright, wanted to make the new matches now...But I need to go help my friends who just got a new house...And tonight I'm having film festival again. I hope I can find a hole in between and get to round two.
  15. oops, wrong topic. >.< Needed the 50s tournament. :P
  16. books, video games, television, movies or music 1. Movies. 2. Music. 3. Books. 5. Video Games/Television No, there's no number 4. I know. Of course the movies. They are very important to me, more important than music, that's why it is on the second place. Books are interesting, when they are about movies. So I put it on number three. And I don't care about television or video games, so that's easy. Both on five.
  17. Heh, wel. If you like absurd movies, it is. :P Anyway, the festival day today: World Trade Center (Oliver Stone) - bad. Zwartboek (Paul Verhoeven) - very good. Stormbreaker (Geoffrey Sax) - great fun! An excellent role by Nighy. Overall it was hilarious! And then, the quiz. There were new kids on the block, and they won. After 100 questions they had 86.5 points and won the quiz. We were a very close second with 85 points. But they had 5 members in their team, and we only had three. :) The quiz was very hard. The movie quotes part was hardest. Because it wasn't readable quotes. It was spoken only, and not in English, as they were suposed to be. But dubbed in German! We had only 4 out of 10 movies on that part. But it was great fun! And we got a huge trophey. Too bad the prices and organisation sucked a bit this year.
  18. :) & :D The first one looks so friendly.
  19. Ooh, it's going to be my first film by the sea festival day this year! Last year was pretty great with shooting dogs. I hope todays movie can surprise me as well. Starting at 11 (in the morning) with World Trade Center, after that having lunch and going in to Zwartboek (the first Dutch verhoeven in two decenia or something) and then at 5 we're going to see Stormbreaker. After that we'll have some quick kebab and we're off to the FILM BY THE SEA MOVIE QUIZ which we'll hopefully, and most likely, win. :D
  20. Heh, I really like the office. The UK version that is (I've never seen the US version). It's so great. ricky gervais <3 haha.
  21. Uh, I think I just said I prefered Vai over Satch. :P As in Vai being the apprentice and Satch being the tutor? Or did I choose the wrong words?
  22. Oh, no, that's not how I meant it. :P Surely I listen to some lesser known music every now and then. But I really do like pop music a lot. And so do a lot of people, but not everybody wants to admitt it.
  23. I'm going with vai. His sound appeals to me (very zappa influenced). And the apprentice is always better than the tutor.
  24. What does rock have to do with girls aloud? Anyway TOOL pink floyd deep purple mothers of invention queen or something. I don't know.
