Yay! What an artist, what an album! <3

Can I ask you why you think they look bad? I mean, everyone has their own opinion to what looks good. I actually don't use tutorials (fully) to make signatures. Where about a year ago I was, I found my own technique and am still developing it. Content wise? Most of my signatures contain about 10~20 brushing layers, 2 gradients, 2 layers of colour, 3 adjustment layers, 5 renders (some filtered and layer mapped) and a border. Sorry if this sounds a little harsh, but some people just don't know how much can go into making an abstract. All abstract is random to a certain degree. Sure you can ask. The pictures you are using don't fit in the signatures. You can't make this 'abstractish' background and randomly put a figure in it. It needs to fit, it doesn't seen well thought out. I mean, look at this objectivly, and then tell me why it looks so good? Because you say it looks good, but I can't see it. And they all look the same. The content part was not about how many things you use. It's about something with a meaning, which could compensate the lack of visual quality in your signatures. I do focus on making other things, I just think that there are already many people doing photo manips (which I can do, I just don't usually show them). I have done some wallpapers in my time. I do make lots of other things than signatures, you may have seen my vectorised boxer dog a while ago. I'm still trying to get better at vectorising. I don't get what you mean in your last sentence. :? Nobody's waiting for them? That's because I don't say "Ok i'm going to go make a signature now!". And anyway, if I don't post them I won't be able to get constructive criticism on how to get better. Then i'd really be stuck doing the same bad things over and over. Just because other people are doing photo-manips isn't a reason why you should do them of course. With focussing on other things, put the effort you put in this extra in those other things, that you're better at. For making these signatures you need to have a certain 'talent', which goes further than your skills at the program. And from your signatures, I can't see you have it. Because you are already doing the same bad things over and over again. They don't feel orignal, and they're not better than what others doing in any way. The last line in my previous post was perhaps a bit harsh, I'm sorry for that. My dad has a guitar that I practice on and I have a drum kit. :| How is playing them any more wasting my time than creating things like I have? It was just an example, do something you're good at. Don't do ten things you're never get better at than mediocre. It's just an advice, you don't have to follow it. But know what you can do, and know what you can't, and go further from that point. For example, I know that I'm not clever enough to use complex programs for my signatures, and I know that I don't have the skills to make a beautiful drawing. So I'm doing something else, which I'm better at, and that way I distinguish myself from others using a less common style (here at the forum), which I am better at. I didn't mean to burn you down to the ground, I was just being honest. Do with it what you like.

Ah, so we need to estimate how good you will do on Runscape based on your 2nd ranking of a game we never heard off. Man, I bet you'll do great in Runescape!

Cadbury, I'm going to be honest. As that is the best thing I can do. I can say I like them, but when I really don't there isn't much point. Then I'd just be fooling you. You're a good guy, but making signatures just isn't the thing to do for you. They all look the same, and they all look bad. Nothing seems to fit. All out of pace, looking too random. And there's nothing to back them up a little bit content wise. My advice is to focus on other things than making signatures, but if you like making signatures a lot, keep making them. But keep them for yourself and don't post them on the internet. Because nobody is really waiting for them. Don't take this as offensive, it's meant friendly. This just isn't the thing for you, don't waste your precious time on it. Instead of buying expensive graphic software, buy a guitar, perhaps you're better at making music. :)

Agreed! But it brings so much more realism to the game. :') NEWSFLASH! You're playing a FANTASY GAME!. It's sad, people caring so much about looks, when it's gameplay that's most important. Atleast, in this state we're living in: where graphics are so good already.

:( Isn't that clear? It's a signature, giving a certain statement, but in the way it is visualized it's completely contradicting itself. Look at it, think for a moment, train your senses, think for yourself, feel it and take your own conclussion. It might just affect the way you are living your life. I know it is hard, because it is something else than an uninspiring pixel signature showing a Runescape character fighting a dragon to get a special weapon, or an 'abstract' background with an anime figure in it. It's a sad moment for this forum, when people can't bring the effort to think anymore. Call me a purist, call me talentless, call me a wannabe hip artist. But atleast I know my signatures are genuine and comming straight from the heart. [edit]No_One gave me new hope. :) There are people left on this forum. And that's not because he gave a positive comment, but he thought. It doesn't matter if it is negative or possitve, it's just statisfaction that people stand still with it for a moment, and think about it.

I don't think better graphics is something to hype about.

So, anybody else got some opinions or thoughts?

Just got back, and it was very good. I thought I had a birthday celebration tonight, but that was next week, so I could still go. :) dEUS isn't my favorite band or something, and I certainly don't know all their lyrics or even the titles of their songs, but it was very nice. It's such a pleasure to see Barman experience and live his own music on stage. Bad Timing was the concert's highlight for me. Only downside was the catering. :P You had to wait like 15 minutes before you got a few beers. For those interested, check out their last album Pocket Revolution!

Hm, there is something to share. It's a Dutch artist called Spinvis. His lyrics are in Dutch, find a translation of his lyrics, print it out. Download the CD (as you can't get it if you're from the US or something), and just listen to it with the printed lyrics. Since these topics are made quite often, it seems to be nice to have a general one where everybody can ask. The user who needs the song doesn't need to post an entire new topic, and the mods don't have to lock every topic that has been asnwered. Plus the forum has less posts of the same subject. I only listen to pop-music. And as pop-music is well known (and generally though of as crap), there's no reason to post any; you all know them already! But thanks for the songs given in this topic, I'll be sure to check some of it out!
