  1. I'm getting pretty sick of all the attention this gets now. Jesus, you can't turn on the t.v. without hearing or seeing michael jackson.
  2. the smooth criminal one? sorry, didn't laugh at it, Adrenal. :P
  3. Can't we just close this one and continue in the other one?
  4. hey, that's not fair. anyway, rip to MJ. :(
  5. alright, he's dead. I'll add an op later, just wanted to have the tip.it scoop.
  6. This may be a strange question...but how in the world can you be ambient and post-hardcore at the same time? :|
  7. It's not that strange that US won. US always seem so motivated, and Spain probably underestimated the USA. USA played well, and Spain had bad luck, they had so many chances, but every time there was a leg or something else between the ball and the goal.
  8. You could always try to contribute something instead of saying "This won't work" all the time... ;) Indy's idea is good. I think we should go on from there. :)
  9. Oké. But don't you think it's better to think some things over and kind of share thoughts with other people, because now it seems like you don't really know what you are doing. What are you trying to achieve with this system? I assume that you want to get an average rating for every movie and then decide which movies are best? The best thing to do then (I think? if you've got a better idea or if I am wrong please correct me) is: remove all the movies mentioned so far and start again. Ask people to make a list of 10 movies (no more, no less), tell them that the nomination period closes at a certain date. At that date you collect all the movies mentioned, and you just ask people to vote. Things will be clearer and everybody has got the chance to nominate their favorite movies, also everybody can nominate an equal amount of movies.
  10. What is the idea behind voting on "somewhere between 10 and 20 movies" (it would be better if you were a bit clearer, this is really vague) and then you need to wait for five people to vote again? Why can't you just rate every movie on that list (that you've seen of course) in one time? I really don't get this tournament. :? I'm sure you mean well, but it's really vague.
  11. You could've taken the first ten or something... You see, I make an effort, start the list earlier than planned to help you on this topic, and then you just ignore it? That's not really a good way to make your threads succesful.
  12. Where are my movies? I posted 100 of them, but there's not a single one of them in that list. This is a joke. Also: this has got to be one of the poorest short lists I've ever seen.
  13. I thought it was really good. Bay is a pretty unique film maker if you ask me. He's single handedly raising the bar for action movies for over 10 years now. The only one who's in the same league as him is J.J. Abrahams. Big - Bigger - Biggest - Bay.
  14. That's a pretty sweet list, Assassin. Love to see Springsteen live someday. And Neil Young of course. How long will he play this time? Normally he always fills up a couple of hours, right?
  15. Is there a new archives release? Other than that enormous box-set? Dance Dance Dance is also on the Massey Hall disc.
  16. Yes! I've got a ticket for the sunday of the North Sea Jazz festival. There are two John Zorn preformances that day, first one is the Filmworks concert, second one is the Cobra set. Incredible! Oh, and a friend also managed to get tickets for the sold out Fleet Foxes concert next week. :)
  17. Ah, oké. I don't know where you operate from (Australia or something?), but I got it from Amazon.co.uk.
  18. What the -- o.O Huh? NP: John Zorn - Mountain View From the new album Alhambra Love Songs
  19. Yea, I live in the Netherlands. I never heard of the sport before, so I don't know if they sell the stuff to play it here. I should check it out though, we've got a pretty big park at our front door. But it's not like a hockey field or something, so I don't know if you can play it then. Ah, I can already imagine the scene. Home alone, great weather, friends coming over. First a drink and some lawn bowls followed by an enormous steak on the BBQ.
  20. Really? It wasn't very expensive. 15 pounds, for all seasons. That's a good deal. :) After RoboCop I saw two other movies that day.. Week End Pretty sharp movie again from Godard. It's really dark and angry but also very funny at times. Lots of experiment with the music and in this movie he uses a lot of text. The movie is also full of ideas, some interesting, others are not. Sometimes it gets a bit tedious, but then the next part is interesting again. It goes really fast as well, watching this movie more than once really helps, I think. The Mole People Pretty cool sci-fi adventure from the fifties (they are fun!). I loved the introduction with the professor explaining all kind of things about how the earth was perceived and the possibility of life inside the earth. Going to see Transformers 2 tonight.
