  1. Time to give this thread a little kick. So it's back up and ohthers can post there collections. Update from my side: this sunday! Got a new and very big cabinet, everything is re-ordered, got the space it deserves. It's gonna be good. 8) (too bad it will be missing the Salo Criterion since I won't have it 'till feb. 28 )
  2. There's some explanation on his father buying the village where everything is good. We get to see Will seeing the light and getting started fantacising, then he gives his father the funeral he wanted (in the fantasyland thing). Something like that. :P
  3. I love pastasalad with tuna and all that good stuff. 8) Taco's are good as well. And big steaks. (L) Pancakes are nice as well. And yum, spareribs, escargotes, frogsbehind (yea, kind of weird, don't know how to translate it, cr̮̻̉̉me brul̮̩̉̉, musard soup with almonds and creme fraiche. (L) Mussels, Oysters various other fish and of course the Dutch raw herring (Matt wasn't really a fan of this  ) and so much other things. Filled paprikas are great as well! Sandwiches with ham, or cheese, or chicken with spicey sauce or sandwich with smoked salmon, or roastbeef with mustard mayonaise. Ooh, I'm getting hungry. Mom is making pastasalad for me though. 8)
  4. What is so special about the guitar other than it looks good and James Hetfield uses it?
  5. Danny the Dog - Probably better known as "Unleased", but anyway. Good movie, cool combination of Asian absurdity, Scottish blutness and some Hollywood sentiment. Jet-Li gave a great preformance playing Danny (yes, the dog). Freemand and Hoskins did their tric and Kerry Gondon was so sweet. (L) Add some great fighting scenes and a very cool soundtrack and you've got a fine action-drama. A recomendation! 7.5/10 Bom yeoreum gaeul gyeoul geurigo bom (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring) - Beaitul movie by the very populair Korean director Ki-duk Kim. We follow a holy monk and his student on a sort of isolated island. This is done in 5 different stages, namely the seasons used in the title. Every season is filmed at a different age and stage of life of the monk and his 'apprentice'. Also every season is connected with a theme, for example summer: love and obsession and winter has got lonelyness. Very calm and peaceful atmosphere (thanks to the great music as well), with some scenes that really move you. Very well done. Not for everybody, but if you got a longer attention span than 5 seconds this is a recoendation. 8/10
  6. Hmm, listening to it again, this is so great, great guitar parts, great sax (or w/e blowing instrument) parts, the violin parts are great. Not to mention the drums. Instrumental, it's something you've never heard before. CHECK IT OUT! NOW! 8) It's almost 17 minutes long BTW. :D Of, if anybody is interested in the song, I'm willing to upload it for you and drop you a PM! :) more people should hear it! muhahah.
  7. Frank Zappa - The Gumbo Variations Been listening a lot to it last time, I love it. The whole Hot Rats album is great BTW. Really a recomendation.
  8. Four Brothers (2005 - John Singleton) - Yea, okay, I guess. Mark Wahlberg was really bad, Andre Benjamin/3000 was suprisingly good. Don't really know what to think of it, it was enjoyable, nothing more nothing less. 6.5/10
  9. I wasn't talking about emo or screamo. I was talking about the fact that this topic has been done like six or seven times ever since the opening of this forum. And none of the topics got any more interesting than the various bashing.
  10. I'm not a gamer, but I always really liked the zelda games! So maybe I'm gonna buy the console that it comes out for together with the game.
  11. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Please, not another EMO/SCREAMO/METALCORE/HARDCORE/W/EEMOSCREAMO TOPIC!!!!!! I beg you! Please, lord, have mercy on our souls!!!! Phil, get over here lock, pleeeeeeeeease! Oh, props for making a semi-decent opening post btw.

Well, it finally happened. We didn't sell it at work, so I took the liberty to download (Yea, I'm a bad boy) an album. Took a random album: The Boy wit h the Arab Strap. It's quite an easy listen, I like it so far. :) Any recomandations?

    Eminem

my grandparents havent had a tv for 20 years and they still havent Then your whole statement makes no sense. I don't see what the knowledge of your grandparents has got to do with a revolotion of rap anyway. I do know that Tupac was one of the rappers who brought rap more to 'the people', for as far I know rap was already very common when Eminem got popular. Eminem blew a fresh wind trough the whole scene though. I think we can conclude that both had a freat influence to the rap genre, but when we're talking about how Eminem was a 'revolution' I think we need to give a big part of the props to Dr. Dre.
  14. thats not the point completley forget about the band just think about the song the song is VERY sad its about how some guys life is messed up and he cant do anything anymore I was on about the lyrics as well. It is the point that the lyrics are standard and work on cheap sentiment, I'n judging the song if I say that, right?
  15. yumm. Appleturnovers. 8) Looking good. :)
  16. I wonder if they even wrote the lyrics themselves. The lyrics also seem to be a bit standard, working on cheap sentiment and so. Nothing too special, atleast it wouldn't make me cry. And something tells it's more fake than real, I mean, these guys are my age (and younger!), and I don't think they've had a real 'hard' youth either, I don't know why they chose this song.

    Braveheart

It's okay, nothing too special though. Maybe it's not really my type of thing.

Heh, Belle and Sebastian are on my "to listen" list for ages now. :( Heard from then when I saw High Fidelity about 1,5 year ago, but I can't get around listening to them. :P

Why I defend 'them'? They're people too, you know. I don't see why I should judge them differently just because they feel attracted to men instead of woman. I've got a few homosexual friends, and they're perfectly normal, sure they've got a few female habbits, but they're great guys, so. And sure I can take a funny joke about homosexuals, no harm in that. But I really don't see the joke in it when you start talking about sins against nature.
  20. I don't really know what Lageris is trying to say, but I think he means that there is no genre as metalcore, but that metalcore is a subgenre of w/e genre. It's nitpicking, but, yea.

I recently got into "Bloc Party", don't know if they can be considered "indie", the term is rather vague, I think. But meh. I never though their singer was a black man btw.

No, then it's not wrong, because you ordered something else. Now you didn't, you just got a little peak on the movie and you took the wrong conclusion being a little bit naive thinking ooh it must be an action movie because it has got a lot of action in the trailer. If something is well known it is that trailers are ALWAYS made more spectaculair than the movie is. Also, a little bit of research always helps before you're going to watch a movie. A History of Violence was a suspense|action movie, it had a lot of suspense, just not in the way everybody is used to it. It's a little bit different than the normal 'suspense' movie, it requieres somewhat of a brain (I'm not saying YOU are stupid now). That you can't see that doesn't mean it's a bad movie or not worth a recomendation. Hahahahahah, everybody watch out: Mr. Funny is in the house, you might fall of your chair laughing and hurt yourself when you are reading his AMAZING JOKES! Hahahahaha he's so funny, he's so funny he pretends to be a homophobic, but when somebody complains about that he hides himself behind the weak "I was just joking" excuse, then he tries to turn the tables and gives me some blame for picking on "every bad post he tries to make as a small joke" and I start arguing. HOW ABOUT NO! JOKES ON HOMOSEXUALS ARE NOT FUNNY AND YOUR 'JOKES' WERE NEVER MEANT AS JOKES AND I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE MAD ABOUT THAT: YOU NEED TO SHUT UP!

Sorry, but I really don't see what a "sin against nature" has got to do with the quality of a movie. Obviously you weren't joking. And I haven't seen it yet, going to see it next thuesday,

So, you didn't like the Lord of War because they advertised it differently, judging a movie on the commercials that got broadcasted is very good. And about History of Violence, there is more about it than action scenes, if you pay some attention and look a bit further there is so much this movie has got to offer. I think the way you judge your movies isn't harsh or something, I think it's very shallow, that's also to be seen in the movies you give a ":)" and a ":(". But that could be me of course.
