  1. wanted this box for a long time. 50 is a bargain.
  2. Matt Elliott - I Name This Ship the Tragedy, Bless Her & All Who Sail with Her
  3. Check it out.   (this one is different from the album versio by the way)
  4. I listened to that song yesterday. I find it hard to say something usefull about it. It didn't sound very interesting to me, but I know next to nothing about Japanese (pop-)music, so maybe it's just my lack of knowledge. I liked the ending. :)
  5. turned this one off and switched to Merriweather Post Pavilion
  6. There's one good thing about me having the flu...It means that I can see Arsenal - Manchester tonight. Go Arsenal! Barcelona - Manchester wouldn't be a bad final either.
  7. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Oh My Lord I think I've posted the link to this clip a dozen times before, but hey, everybody should hear it. Jesus, that bass is so sexy. [edit] I didn't post this clip before. This one has better sound quality, and some great shadows. It's from the DVD God is in the House.
  8. Lucky. Not really. I got the flu and can't see them.
  9. I think nowadays, any movie he makes will become a "cult" movie. A cult movie for a mainstream audience. That's impossible. If you haven't seen much movies Tarantino might be very funny or original, but if you dig a little deeper you'll quickly notice that his movies are very empty and suffer from a lack of originality. I don't want to come of as elitist or something, but I haven't seen an impressive shot by Tarantino that hasn't been done before. He always borrows from cult classics and he never does anything interesting with it. The best he can do is "ooh, I like spaghetti westerns and samourai flicks, hmm. Lets do a shootout with samourai swords and an Enio Morricone like score! That's so creative". His dialogue is fun in his first two movies, but he's a poor Jack Hill clone, Jackie Brown is a 2.5 long wannabe blaxploitation flick, Death Proof a very poor attempt at a Russ Meyer film (come on a Russ Meyer flick without nudity?) and Kill Bill a very unsexy pinky.
  10. John Foxx - Plaza
  11. I wonder when he will realize that it's near impossbile to deliberately make a cult movie. Tarantino is a little kid, who's using a lot of money making not too great stuff.
  12. Maybe you can add the other 30 albums to your list when you've got more time, Adio. I'd love to see more. :)
  13. X-Men Origins: Wolverine Pretty entertaining. Gambit was a bit disappointing, though. And I really can't stand Liev Schreiber's face. The ending was hilarious, with Xavier and the helicopter. :') Equinox Man, I loved this one. A few great monsters and great atmosphere. Some hilarious moments as well. The Fly Brr, this film gives me the creeps, it's pretty depressing. Great soundtrack. What I've seen in April (not much)... April Films 93. In a Lonely Place (Nicholas Ray, 1950) :: 10.0 94. 14. I'm still yet to check it out. I'll definitely look it up later on today, though. Magma - Da Zeuhl Wortz Mëkanïk And, did you? :P My Brightest Diamond - Feak Out!
  15. picked up in Amsterdam: Francois Truffaut Collection Vol. 2 - Les quatre cents coups - Tirez sur le pianiste - Baisers volés - Domicile Conjugal - L'Amour en fuite - Vivement Dimanche
  16. Fantastic list! A lot of things that I love are on it, and also some things that I haven't heard before, but that I am going to check out for sure. As said before: your recommendations never let me down. There's a lack of Talking Heads, though.
  17. 95% of the time I buy it, and sometimes I just download it, if I like it I still buy it later. Sometimes I even share a couple of songs. :o Runescapeloser: I think I've done it at least 10 times before, you just get tired of it. Besides, I have three downloaded albums on my computer so I haven't got the right to talk anymore.
  18. John Zorn - Spillane Man, I just love how this song opens.
  19. Dusty Springfield - Just a little lovin' early in the morning, beats a cup of coffee for starting up the day. Dusty.

    Reading

I don't read much, I would like to read more, because when I read it pleases me. But it takes a lot of time, and I want to spend time on other things as well. When I read it's mostly books about movies and I'm reading The Jungle by Upton Sinclair at the moment.
  21. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Tupelo The beast it cometh, cometh down!
  22. Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - So Everyone It cried of joy when they did this song last week.
