  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcjAy3VtMVU Trough that last one I got to this one: yummie. So, I wanted to say the Nels Cline Singers. But you got some nice extra videos.
  2. Just ordered my lowlands ticket. There's not much of the line-up known, but I'm sure there will be some good stuff, and if there isn't we'll have a good time anyway. Acts so far: Lily Allen, The Whitest Boy Alive, Kasabian, Fall Out Boy, Calexico, The Aggrolites, Wilco, Dizzee Rascal, Speedy J, Hank Williams III and ASSJACK, The Gaslamp Killer, Collie Buddz & The New Kingston Band, Opeth, Arctic Monkeys, La Caravane Passe, The Prodigy, Bloc Party, Rusko, Boyz Noize, Enter Shikari, Sonata arctica, Basement Jaxx, Bon Iver, The Crookers. So far it's pretty good.
  3. Shanghai Express Mystery is what this movie is all about. The lighting is just fantastic. There's a scene that you can compare very well with a movie made a year or two ago: the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, it has got a very good train robery scene, but it doesn't even come close to the train scene in this movie. The out of this world lighting also gives a great contrast with the almost hyperrealistic sets of this movie, if I didn't know better I would've said it was shot on location. I don't think Marlene would ever look better than in this movie. Some good quotes too. "When I needed your faith, you withheld it; and now, when I don't need it, and don't deserve it, you give it to me." and even better: It took more than one man to change my name to Shanghai Lily...Imagine it with her accent.
  4. I want to see it. I don't know if I can get anybody with me though...
  5. Have you got something you could recommend by Boredoms? I only heard this album and it's fantastic.
  6. This weeks list is a little bit delayed. I guess it's coming in a day or two. :) I've also added links to the lists in the OP. That way you can always go back to your favorite lists!
  7. That doesn't mean your movie can't be anything else than talking heads. Haven't seen the movie by the way, so I don't know if it really is just talking heads. Sayat Nova (The Color of the Pomegranates) Wow! I had tried to see this movie a couple of times before, but I never was in the right mood, so I never finished it. Yesterday I started from the beginning, and when it was done, I saw it another time. It doesn't happen often that I watch a movie for a second time right after it is finished, but it was so incredibly beautiful. One for surprise, one for pleasure, I guess. :) This movie is about the Armenian poet/troubadour Harutyun Sayatyan (Sayat Nova, the King of Song). It isn't your usual bio-picture. The movie doesn't tell us much the life of the king of song (like Walk the Line does, for example), but it gives us a look at the inner world of this king of song. It's hard for me to say something about this movie, but the images were so powerfull, the colors of them, compositions all that detail with the words and music in the background, it's impossible to describe it with words. You'd have to see it for yourself.
  8. Is that the best criteria for choosing a date movie though? I can foresee the date ending like Travis Bickle's date in Taxi Driver, he'll have to go mad to even get her to talk to him again lol. Yea, but that's thirty years ago! Girls have changed!
  9. They'll add some things to the story.
  10. Love is part of life, a movie often tries to portray a part of life, so it's only normal that love is involved in movies. I don't know why you are so surprised about it. It's not even that important either, if you want to there's always a way to find a love theme in a movie, but that doesn't mean that every movie has got something to say or is about love. Wouldn't such a movie be a movie with a lack of love? You'd still have the love theme. It's Memento by the way, not momento.
  11. There weren't much teenagers in the Jackson Five during the eighties, Jaerk.
  12. But everybody loves Monty Python. Well, if she doesn't laugh at it at least you know that she's got a good sense of humor. :) And Meet Joe Black, what the hell. That's one boring movie, if you want her to be asleep within 30 minutes you should put it on. It also has Marcia Gay Harden, which is a reason not to watch it. Stardust is alright, especially if she's into elves and so. Donnie Darko might be a nice thing to watch. It's a pretty interesting movie which gives you something to talk about afterwards, it involves teenagers which makes it easier to relate to (I assume you're a teenager), it also has a little romance and lots of laughs. Some good music too. Lust, Caution is worth a watch as well. The movie itself isn't very interesting, but it has got some good sex scenes.
  13. Let the right one in is a pretty popular movie... I wouldn't want to watch a Monty Python movie with a girl by the way. Whoever came up with that: bad idea.
  14. Six Organs of Admittance - You can always see the sun I love this stuff.
  15. Nah, thanks. :P I just re-arranged everything a couple of weeks ago, took me long enough.
  16. Happy easter everybody.
  17. [yt]7XBcT41ImSI[/yt] this one is pretty bad. [yt]gzyFmilkd80[/yt] :
  18. Most people do. Isn't their something build into the soundtrack that is suposed to make you feel sick? Roman Holiday, the Philadelphia Story, Holiday and Bringing up Baby are some great romantic comedies. [edit] On Irreversible... The first 30 minutes of the film has a background noise with a frequency of 28Hz (low frequency, almost inaudible), similar to the noise produced by an earthquake. In humans, it causes nausea, sickness and vertigo. It was the main cause of people walking out of the theaters during the first part of the film in places like Cannes and San Sebastian. In fact, it was added with the purpose of getting this reaction.
  19. Nah, I'd go for the Color of the Pomegranates, Satantango or the romantic war movie Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS for a first date.
  20. "She needs to stop doing drugs and get a grip. Then maybe we'll talk." Stevie Nicks should shut her mouth, she's been a cocaine addict herself.
  21. The contracts are drawn up/the ring is locked upon the finger What a nice way to describe marriage.
  22. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Oh my Lord it feels like I'm listening to the same records and songs for days, but I just can't stop listening to them. I really get sucked into them, dancing behind the computer.
  23. [yt]dnYAkvCpom0[/yt] haha, love her dress.
