Eeps, a ghost!
If they need contact, why don't they just call? I'd be willing to talk with a ghost, I mean come on, its not every day that a ghost calls you and just wants to talk... A ghost friend would be cool, you could throw something at him and it would go right though.... I could have a lot of fun throwing stuff at a ghost. :XD: :XD: :XD: \ :-s =P~ The ghosts wouldn't. That's why they stay away from people :XD:

How can we rid the world of terrorism?
You may have a point. Still, I think belief is something that is in every human, and is needed. I can't really explain why. Yes, it's stereotypical, but I have to admit that is how it really is. Religion is there to give people support, and preach certain morals. Like be good to others, no motter who and don't fight wars etc...Maybe that's it's function and that's why religion is needed?

How can we rid the world of terrorism?
You don't switch your friends for God or something. You don't just say "bye friends, see ya later" and only depend or God. That's just silly :? What to turn to when you have nobody left? Alot of people in poor countries have that problem. The church is sometimes their last resort. They can get help there and sometimes that help can be found nowhere else. Lots of Christian organisations (and other ones, with or without a religious background) have help centers there. You know what? They're not brainwashing people to become Christian in those centers. True, alot of people become Christian there, but there are also people who do not convert to Christianity, nor start to believe there. But those who do become religious, get alot of support out of it. I know a priest who went to south America and he told me a bit about his experience. He said those people are really happy they have something to rely on. It pulls them through. You can't say religion does nothing good. =>I want to stress however that I'm not trying to shove anything down your throat or anything. If I do come over like that, I'm sorry :) I'm also not trying to get everybody Christian, it's just an example.

How can we rid the world of terrorism?
Yes, but if religion were to be erradicated, over time the extremeists would stop having an excuse to hide behind. They wouldnt have been inspired to 'uphold the name of their faith' because there wouldnt have been one. And allthough it is off topic, and illegal atm, i would like one good thing about religion to be named. - It has helped alot of people through a tough time. And about eradicating religion, i don't think that is possible, really.

Your first name?
The sig does kind of give you a hint :)

How can we rid the world of terrorism?
Although I do feel religion does help alot of people (and am religious myself), I have to agree religion does create conflict. However- this oftenly is a cause of misinterpretation. Almost all religions preach peace (yes, the Islam too), so those who do attack others in aren't following their own religion. It think it's rather those people, or those misinterpretations, that need to be dealt with instead of religion itself.

What's the Best Book you've Ever Read?
Yeah, it's definitely not for everyone. But I got hooked on when I got the feeling of how vast the Middle Earth is or how rich the history Tolkien made it to be. I'm reading the Silmarillion :XD: Very dry, but also very interesting. He invented a whole universe.

Posh And Bucks: A Disgrace
 Think before you post. I don't think Beckham is doing this to bring football to America, or for the challenge. But hey, who would not take the chance to earn that kind of money? But I'm quite surprised he can still get that kind of offer. He hasn't really been in his best form lately. I honestly think Real Madrid isn't regretting he is leaving.

Dealing WITH suicide
Indeed, like Viktor said, don't ponder over it to much. remember him as your good friend. Take some time for yourself to give it a place.

Are discussions in the off-topic forum completely useless?
Your post was pretty useless too. I think discussions should always have a place in off topic. My opinion is largely same as that of Lionheart_0...you do not have a discussion unless you can back up your opinions. Why those people think this or that is what I'm interested in. You can learn from what other people say. By discussing and being open to other peoples idea's and opinions, is the only way to form one of your own, imho. Just saying "I think this or that, and I don't care what anyone else says" is pointless. Not considering new information is stupid imo.
