  1. I you, all the things you mentioned are the how I try to play (never said that I really succeed). So I fully agree, although that efficiency (height of stat according to played time) is something that I can appreciate.
  2. My way in construction training: I use the method that several other people talk about since I have level 50 construction till now (over 85): Cutting oaks at house in Rimmington and demonbutler makes planks... In inventory to start with: any multiple of 58k gp and house teleport runes In hand: axe Around neck: lucky rabbits foot How: Tele house, take saw and hammer from workshop, leave house, cut 24 oak logs (Demon butler can take up to 26 but u need gold, axe and saw in inventory) Go in house in building mode (if your kitchen is just north of your dining room and you dining room just north of your house exit/entrance portal this is the fastest) Go and ring the bell in dining room Use oak log on butler... Go to larder (really close by if you have my layout...) and remove it By that time the butler is back build and remove (only 3 times as larder takes 8 logs per time.) If the butler gets stuck behind a wall somewhere ring the bell again so you do not lose time. Leave house, repeat... 250 gp per oak log is the cheapest that you can do with oak logs= 4.166666 gp per exp no other costs included with this method: 5.035 gp per exp every time when I have 2 nests or other usefull items from randoms I use glory in house to tele away and use telerunes to come back, this I consider to be free as I will not tele away for worthless things. When the second item comes in my inventory during cutting oaks I drop the saw from my inventory so that I can still take 24 oak logs. Then you have 2 choices: 1. send the demon away and tele away with glory or portal (demon will put the 24 planks in your bank, and with only house tele runes and gp in your inventory, u can bring those 24 next time...) 2. send the demon away, quickly get a new saw, when the demon sees that he has too many planks he will keep the 1 plank till you talk to him again, he will also try to follow you around, again the bell can come in handy... (If you are too slow, then you will have to go out of your house or leave building mode to be able to take a saw...) About 35k exp per hour for construction and 20k woodcut is easily possible :-k Warning you will get many nests this way.
  3. Yep, get more 99ers is the answer. I also got my 99ers in my own way, not always the most efficient... Thief went to 99 because I wanted seeds and gems, I still need more seeds and gems, so the safes and masterfarmers still get visited by me from time to time. Fletch went to 99 because I wanted cash and mage exp, I still fletch, but I only make arrows (to be used for slayer). Cook went to 99 because it was easy to do...I avoid cooking whenever I can. Fish went to 99 just because it was there, I sold lots of fish, and I have 30k of monkfish for whenever I would need it. Mage went to 99 because it is a status symbol, till 94 through high alching stuff from crafting and fletching, after that I maged for slayer which is still good fun. Range went to 80 because I like killing monsters with no food. It then went to 18 mill exp (well over 99) because I like slayer. Woodcut went to 99 because of fletch, firemaking and construction. I still woodcut for construction and arrow shafts (you have to love the seeds from the nests). Firemaking went to 99 because it was an easy skill to get to the max. I think that getting 99 in everything at the current rate is at least 2 years away if there are no new skills that come out. Maybe I will find things to do in mini games and quests, or maybe I get infected like some others by ranking and try to be the best possible in 1 single skill. I like to think I am 1 of the most creative rangers in the game as I do almost all my slayer with range. I even do abby demons and metal dragons with range. (no food, no prayer)
  4. My outfit is a glory, black d hide body and a crystal bow. If he attacked you first then you do not become skulled when you go for him. So I drink 1 prayer dose, take glory and attack him barehanded the first time and pray to protect glory. I die, skull is gone, I tele Edge, get my d hide body and crystal bow with the glory, and I keep attacking till he leaves. I die, tele back...rince repeat. I do not follow them to another world, but I follow them all the time if they stay on "my" world. I lose no items and once I almost killed one guys girlfriend who came to see the show...
  5. In comment on Trazma's post of several months ago: if combat would only be straight forward melee, then I agree, but the experienced slayers under us know: if you go into the slayer tower with any of the equipment on the list, then once you pass the crawling hands your behind is toast. If you do not mention a black mask in the best "slayer" melee outfit and never talk about the salve amulet, then go back to boot camp, that is were you belong. These things have a big influence. And putting a dragon square as the best shield..., well noone is sure which is the best. So what to do? I have the idea that we could make a detailed report on all the best combat/slayer items and what their best use is, so you would have a section what to wear on your head and why, what to wear around your neck and why, and this could go further than just combat.
  6. Both the original and the correction do not fit what I see when I look closely while doing the emote (the emote looks a little silly for a thief). A bag appears on my back, I go a little through the knees and hold out my hand as to seek balance. (This probably were other people see the pocket being picked.) Then I look around very fast (to see if someone spotted me) and that is when the coins appear from the bag. (apparently the head motion is so fast that the coins jump up from it.) This is what I see, but sure people can see many things in it because it is not clear/obvious at all, I looked at it many times but it does not help... [pokemama 15 Apr: thanks, I asked another master thief and she said same as you, so I think we'll disregard the submission.]
  7. Comment on hyjack01's post: I remember having 13 rannars with normal compost when I was still a noob farmer and rannar was the highest I could plant, and yes this was only 1 time, never happened again with normal compost. With super compost from 5 to 13 herbs per plot is normal, but the highest that I know of is 19, yes, that also happened only once and second best is "only" 16, and even that happened only a few times. As a comparison: The very highest that I know of for watermelons from 1 patch is 53, and again there the second best harvest is a lot lower (low 40s). For me it seems that with farming the random engine from jagex sometimes runs overtime, but it is very rare. So my guess is that even 20 herbs could be possible with the secateurs... Another remark, I know that sweetcorn and strawberries heal more or less dependant on your hitpoints level, it changed from 5 healing to 6 for me with strawberries when I became higher level. So the complaint from dragonwizerd who says that tomatoes heal only 2 for him could be true, it seems that all these harvested products heal according to mathematical formulas and not just absolute numbers. According to knowledge base: strawberries, sweetcorn and watermelon heal depending on stats, all others should be absolute. Maybe someone can investigate this? On Pokemama's post: all tree roots make super compost.
  8. Good melee guide, if you really are 90+ ranged I disagree that ranging is slow. You should really try maximum range bonus gear, anti fire shield, anti fire pots with red chinchompas. Doing up to 24 damage it goes really fast, of course I use up ammo, but in pots I just need anti fires and of course range pots are nice. And the chinchompas are "free" from training hunter. I would say that ranging them with red chinchompas goes 3 times faster or even better than mage with fire blasts or magic darts... I am 99 mage and range but a bad meleer...So try it a few times to do me a pleasure and make sure to set your fuse right :D . To set the fuses right, see my post under range guide in this forum.
  9. Yeah, guess the distance toward the south west corner of the large creature that you are hunting to set your fuse. Of course if you hunt daganoths in multi combat zone, you also have to aim at the best one and/or move around to get maximum damage. Example: short fuse is the place you stand upon, 1 empty spot, then south west corner of large monster that you want to kill so obviously you will have to stand 1 step to the south or to the west of the monster. Or in multi combat: aim at monster in second row from you... If really necessary I will make a drawing and go through all the crazy stuff that this website requires to get a picture on it.
  10. There is a player made guide about safe spots and "center" of a creature were it drops. It states that a big creatures' base square is in the south west. Maybe this seems that i am rambling, but because chinchompas work with fuses it is important that you read that guide to understand the differences. I was doing Iron drags with red chinchompas and they hit 12 max... Then someone took the dragon next to me and pushed me more towards the middle. The next dragon was to my north, and i hit 16!... While I was sending this to some of my online friends I was hitting 18, 19, 21, 22, 23 and finally 24. (99 range and potted). So when attacking big creatures you have to set the fuse keeping in mind their center is in the south west corner. So a short fuse 1 step away towards the south up to 24 damage... And a short fuse 1 step away towards the north only up to 12 damage... The difference is big. Ranging metal drags with them is quite fast. Now try daganoths in multi combat...it is faster than cannon, hitting up to 9 dagas at the same time...up to 24 damage...could be up to 216 damage with range in 1 shot... [pokemama 1/2: the center squares of big monsters is discussed in fascinating detail in keruly's AOW guide "Advanced Monster Blocking" http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=470834 sjefderat, what corner/square should we be on, or are you just saying set your chinchompa at the southwest square the monster is on?]
  11. Since the hunter skill came out, you should change the title to... 1985 total at combat 90...possible or not
  12. On the topic of chatting: I finished woodcut and fishing which allowed me to chat with an ever increasing number of friends. Now, doing hunter, rc, agility, mining or smithing and such skills, this became almost impossible. So I run into the same problems, reply very late, not reply to private messages or stop playing in a normal tempo. Congratulations on all your new levels, but I predict that the road to the top will become more lonely (less chatty) all the time. So the support on this FORUM means a lot people! (readers), keep posting, keep encouraging, do not expect too much chatting...
  13. For the crafting thing I want to remark following: d hides are the easy (expensive) way out, every uncut gem even a sapphire is potentialy 2 to 3 d hides in craft experience when cut and made into an amulet. Most people end up with doing smithing by smelting gold, so the gold is part of getting smith up in a way that is humanly possible. Thieving gems at safes in rogues den gives about 25k thief exp, but also a possible 13.5k craft exp in gems... I still do not believe that people want the crazy fast exp in the pyramid instead of extra herb seeds (45k thief per hour), or the above method. Both these methods were the basis of my skill levels: number of d hides bought is below 1k... Congratulations on the firemaking, I was so jealous I had to get it to.
  14. Who needs a high total or 99ers? Oops, that would be me, 25k exp needed for 99 firemaking at the moment... \ At 97 combat I am doing OK for both total and 99ers, so I agree with following strategy: first get all 70+, then go for 99ers in the skills you like the most
  15. Going to Nardah is fastest through fairy rings (DLQ as you mentioned) and run south. The Golden warbler is in the desert, run north west from DLQ. Do not forget to bring waterskins from lvl 5 to next snare (copper longtail at lvl 9) you will use 3 to 5 full waterskins (I took ten and used only 3). Rewards: All colored feathers = normal feathers only useable in flyfishing or fletching. The first real reward with snaring comes with the level 19 tropical wagtails which give striped feathers that can be used to fly-fish (lvl 38 required and you need to go to a fly-fishing spot) a new fish, the rainbow trout. (These rainbow trouts are used as bait to catch barbtailed kebbits at level 33 with a deadfall, which could give you your next real reward: 1 extra inventory space when harpooning through wielding the barbtailed harpoon that you get from these.) Once you want to go to a new region my suggestion is that you just pick up the furs that you need for the clothing for that area (many people training drop the furs.) and that you make the appropriate clothing first, or otherwise of course, do the tracking yourself. And my second suggestion is that you do deathfalls or birdsnaring while catching butterflies, this ensures faster exp than just stand around waiting. So at lvl 9 bring 1 snare, a butterfly net, and a few jars to the Piscatoris area, catch copper longtails until level 15 and start catching Ruby harvests while waiting for birds. I suggest doing this until level 25. If you want to take a break go back to Feldip hills and catch some tropical wagtails (supposing you reached level 19)...which will force you to try catching some rainbow trouts. At level 25 you can go to the polar Area (north east from relleka) and catch Cerulean twitches while butterfly netting sapphire glacialisses. You could keep this up until level 43, with at level 35 moving from sapphire glacialisses to snowy knights. I suggest that you take a break at level 31 (bring an axe, a knife, some food) and pit trap just enough spined larupia's (or pick em up from the ground) for full jungle camo (this is back in the Feldip area). I suggest that you take a break at level 41 and pit trap just enough horned graahks (or pick enough furs up from the ground) for full desert camo (This is north west from fairy ring CKR on Karamja). This is were I am right now... Next would be falconry?!!!!
  16. Next trip maybe 1 month to the north pole? Just to give tallest and swampjedi (and all other combat 90 or below skiller dudes here on tip it) an opportunity to catch up :) I have to say that slayer is the skill i like best till now. I especially like the gamble of the level 3 clues.
  17. you get the option to attack another players stranger from desert treasure, but when you do, it does not go through, so that is what it was.
  18. In Zanaris, east of the teleport (ruins) to cosmic altar.
  19. Try to be as light as possible as well, less weight will be easier to succeed.
  20. You do not have to pay anybody to finish it, just use the tip.it guide and coordinate locator. To get into the high level wild fast, just use the teleport lever in Ardougne. Bring a dagger, run north, slash the web, run a little east till u see the axe hut, go to the north of the hut... Mage pray when u dig because zammy mage will appear. Do not forget that u need to have the clue, the map, the sextant and the watch in your inventory when u dig... Good luck.
  21. I wanna see the cannon balls made that the dwarf has...
  22. Congratulations, now that Jorus2 is a lil burnt out, maybe you can catch up some levels with him... Good job
  23. Keep the skilling with 90 combat going, you are doing great, i have only 96 firemaking and I am 97 combat already. So keep up the good work...burn baby burn, disco burning...
  24. Solution: run away Come back and dig once in right spot and kill the 1 Sara Priest
  25. Nope Realise if you want to do level 3 clue scrolls, you need several quests to be sure you can go all places. Tyranwynn: underground passage and start next quest You need to get in troll heim And legends for the jungle...
