It doesn't really matter, but having a decent defense level (around 85ish) is nice so you don't have to pray at time while waiting for your bunyip to heal you.

Switch from slayer to armoured zombies? The best idea would actually to never switch, and continue on with slayer, but if you ever get extremely bored and tired of slaying, you can go ahead and try out armoured zombies; there really is no "best time" to switch over. However, slaying would probably be best in the long run.

Meh. Might camp it for its new drop for a while, but this really doesn't do anything for me. I'd really like it if they decided to make a lvl 90+ monster (yay, I've joined the bandwagon) as it'd give me some incentive to actually train past 85.

It's not quite that bad... I think for me from 82-99 it's about 70M. I know that 82-94 mage for me was around 40M, and from 94-99 for me in barrages its ~34M, so your's would probably be around 80-90M total, maybe a bit less.The cost is well worth the amount of shards you get; also, switch to barrage after 94 mage, it's more efficient.

I posted this thread on the RSOF; someone recommended to me "Vista Anti-Lag." Can anyone tell me anything about it/if it works well or not/would fit for my problem?

not much happened today; Sold Dclaws sooner than expected due to E8 being a nerd (still made 1.5M on it so meh), and soloed TDs a bit with pwny for the first time. Got 23 kills today; setting a goal of 100 kills for now. I might make that 100 kills per week, just so I have a chance at pro claw drops.

i would hit L, S, T, V, and X... that looks promising i might be talking out of my [behind] here, but if i didnt have three tests tomorrow you can bet that i would look into it a little more. I did what you said.. Let's see how this turns out, I'll play again in a little after I eat, or possibly tomorrow depending on how late it is after I finish dinner, homework, shower, etc. I'll edit this in with results later. @noble_aloof Turns out I don't even have my firewall on. :-# makes note to turn it on So that's not it. And yes, I'm using Firefox the majority of the time for internet. @sbrideau2000 I wasn't blaming on Vista, just saying when that's when the problem started. Also, I realized I forgot to mention I have parental controls on my computer that limit some things, which I doubt is a problem, but throwing it out there if it turns out that may do something. Also, I have the latest version of Java at the moment, so that wouldn't be the problem either, I'm pretty sure.

Well, I had been planning on buying more anyways, plus it was cheap, like $30. The Vista and RS bug sounds relevant, seeing as I onyl got the lag when I upgraded to Vista (but downgrading is not an option). Also, would you mind telling me how to open said ports?

Ok, so my problem is that RS lags about 5 seconds straight every minute whenever I play. It doesn't seem to be affected by by the amount of programs I'm running, or if I'm playing in Standard Detail or High Detail. Also, what makes this even odder, only Runescape is affected by this lag. Nothing else is, not even streaming video/radio, etc. Just 'Scape. I asked this question before, and I was told to boost my RAM, so I tripled it (1 GB to 3 GB) but the problem remains pretty much the same. Any ideas on how to fix this? Here are my computer's specs, only change is the RAM which is now 3GB. Here's my internet's speedtest also. Any help is appreciated.

Might eventually use up the rest of my charms for 92, but for now I'm content with this. Got like 250K shards left though so maybe.

Yeah, it is, and it also lets you do this: Solo kills #29 for shard and #33 for claws. I'm so frickin happy right now.
