Lol I actually think the trial was aimed at giving potential buyers merely a taste, restricting their capabilities in the world. Eventually they figure once they hit lvl 20 and can't go any further, they'll buy the game and be hooked. That's why so many people say the trial is just as evil as actually buying the game :P Either way you lose your soul :P

I'll answer that question the second you tell me when RuneScape became a "help-my-lazy-friend-or-relative-or-acquaintance-because-they-asked-for-it" game. What you mean how Blizzard isn't holding players hands by, say, moving mounts down to level 30, dramatically (15-20%) reducing the time to level between 20 and 60, raising the experience quests give. Yea, real not hand holding. Then when Jagex does anything remotely like Blizzard, they get smashed by the same whiny children that they're trying to hard to be like Blizzard. Double edged sword, not worth it. Blizzard aren't concerned with wasting peoples' time to get to 70, and since the expansion to 80 is coming out shortly they need to speed up the leveling process. This is the reasoning behind their actions. Jagex instead protect us from the big bad scammers that the children of Runescape can't seem to avoid. It wasn't that hard, and just because some of the population was getting stupidly scammed, doesn't mean Jagex should change their whole system. This is hand holding.

huh? I was saying that it was more than just pking. My meaning is that it is all those things not just one single thing. That is like saying that since Barrows is gone that Runescape is no longer worth playing. You can still pk just not the same way. Of course there's more, but pking will always be hands down what Runescape is all about. As soon as the wilderness was created, we all new something great was born. Now it's gone forever, and I can assure you a lot of old timers are not going to be happy. Sure we can play the stockmarket, or mindlessly click on the tree or fishing spot. But you know what most of us did that for? Money ... to save up and hopefully one day test our skills out in this wonderful wilderness.

The only people who use the "honor system" in pking are the same idiotic children who are afraid of change brought in by the weekly updates and doomsayers like eatrunearrow here who spend their time complaining about every aspect of the game and how it's ruined, yet still play it. young children who haven't hit puberty? As opposed to young children who have hit puberty? Is there a calling for that market? I don't know, it seems like a small focus group. It's been 7, going on 8 months now. Either get over it or quit, but we've heard your half-assed complaints a thousand times over, and a lot of the other times, a lot more intelligently spoken to boot. Can't leave this unanswered, and my repsonse will be from what this post is supposed to contain, a pkers viewpoint. Idiotic children who made the honor system ... read my above post and re-consider. We were forced to create it, as if it had not been, 1v1 wilderness pking would NOT exist, I can tell you that much. You are not a pker, this is not the rant for you. I however, have made 7 pking videos totaling of about 100mil + gold. Every oponent I faced upheld the honor system and responded with "good fight" when it was all done. I was free to show my collections on the graveyard forums and talk with other fellow pkers. It was a good system, sure it was sketchy and there were problems, but due to the decision making from Jagex, there was no other alternative. The only thing that could set things right were the destruction of protect prayers or the re-incarnation of 3 round combat, and I'm quite sure the children community of Jagex would complain about those coming back. Now, the only way you will get a kill besides being incredible lucky, is to trick people during bounty hunting, or go with a team to negate the protect prayers. No-one fights anymore, it's merely a mini-game bloodbath. It is not the wilderness, and any pker will be able to tell you that. I am not going to waste my time aruging with people who just don't get it. Do NOT respond if you weren't here to compare the two properly. It won't work and we'll be here for days throwing the same points at each other over and over again.

Look I'm sorry guys, but so many of you are just NOT pkers, there is no way you can understand. You defend bounty hunting as a minigame, I attack it as the wilderness replacement. It's never going to work if this post gets hit head on by a whole bunch on non pkers, you ideas, suggestions and arguements just do NOT cut it here. Head over the the graveyard forums, find any oldschool pker. They're either gone, complaining or trying to cope with this wilderness we now call BH. Please, if you don't pk, if you didn't conform to the honor system, just don't post. It's a waste of my time to argue against you ( and I will quite easily combantant every piece of support you have for BH compared to old days ). Leave this rant for the pkers, the people who this post was for.

Wow, since when did Runescape become a single player game? It is serious because the update was utterly stupid. The reason behind it supports my arguement of Jagex turning to a kiddy-like Runescape. Every update has slowly opened the doors for more kids playing due to how easy the game is now. If they complain something is hard, or if they get scammed, Jagex gets to work right away, as a large portion of their income is from these groups. I am NOT here to have my hand held or have jagex decide what I can or cannot lend out. I HAVE read the updates but for me, it just doesn't cut it. If you were around from the start you'd actually know what I'm talking about, so don't dare to try claim my post is of utter ignorance when you somehow thought you'd justified your point in one paragraph.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in't the lumbridge general store the hands down cheapest way to level firemaking? You start in lumbridge f2p general store with tinderbox and 100k gold. You buy all the logs ( forget which ones, maybe willow ) that the hungry f2p woodchoppers are selling there for fast levels and burn away down the path and repeat. Does this still exist? Or is it dead?

This post is the wilderness in general, f2p wilderness to be exact. ------ RSC wilderness was about as good as you could get. RS2 and the desutruction of 3 hitting and introduction of protect from melee ( worst ... prayer ... ever ) made killing people farily IMPOSSIBLE. So players were forced to create an honor system which I believed was followed by the good pkers, and ignored by the ones who couldn't make it as successful pkers. It firstly invloved not eating unless you were in danger of being 1 shot ( as fights would last indefinetly ) Praying melee 1v1 was out of the question Pjing has always existed, no exceptions here. The honor system underwent changes every time jagex clicked the update button, making it harder and harder for us to adapt. Teleblock was ( imo ) nearly the doom of the wilderness, as deep wild pking became non existant. Players would easily teleblock and lure you into clans at the ladder ( now lever ), so it was declared dead. Edge pking took over, and struggled big time, but it was still there and our honor system was still in play. I leave, and come back to find it gone, and Bounty Hunter in play. Bounty hunter is quite simply, deep end wild pking, with advanced teleblock mechanisms. EVERYONE prays 1v1, incredibly boring. EVERYONE eats at 78hp. Lame lame. Already, for us oldschoolers, its hit rock bottom. But wait, now if you even dare go for rogue points, the lingering clan will be waiting to smash 10 people onto you, heaps fun. It's over, everyone who stuck around after jagex's 3 update screw ups and to pk in world 18 edgeville with me can tell you that. I think it's the last straw.

Jagex holding our hands yet again, frustrating stuff. They should give up already and watch and learn from Blizzard -.-

Old news, new nonthless, I've been out of Runescape for 2 years as previously mentioned so it is infact to me - new news. Like I said in the above post, the rant forums are clearly not a place for you, it seems any insult towards jagex is an equal insult towards you.

Comparing real life problems to Runescape is never going to work. I can win a billion arguements like that, how about we stick to the matter at hand. The problem is Jagex changed something for the worse, this is a problem, and justifies itself as a rant. I see you and sephiroth trudging around these forums in hopes to stick up for your buddies Jagex and attempt to disagree with every rant posted on these forums. Obviously they are posted here for a reason, and MANY people agree with them. See, the one problem here is, you're not an oldschool pker. This is a rant forum where I hope to reach out to others in my situation. Pking is dead. Someone was high when he made Bounty Hunting, after it was done Paul was probably the only one who would have argued against it, but now it's quite apparent hes nowhere to been seen these days. I'm quite confident Jagex is in the hands of children, or monkeys. Paul used to chill with us in rs1 when we were pking. When there actually was pking, man I wish he'd come back and remake this mess the new kids call Runescape.

You were obviously the person the old graveyard forums used to laugh at for carrying tele runes, safe eating and praying 1v1. Bounty hunter is a disgrace to pking, it is OVER. The player honor system is gone, and Jagex has wrecked it for all us oldschool skillful pkers. You touched on the 3 things that has destroyed Runescape. At first I complained about the utter stupidiness of Jagex releasing the all time worst update ever - Pest Control - but now there are worse problems on our hands. I'm pretty sure Jagex has forgotten who first helped them out in the beginning and who loved their game for what it was, us oldschoolers. Now I guess the money is flowing for them and they'll be happy to introduce half minded updates to keep the under 13s amused for yet another week. GG Jagex, here since the beginning, im OUT.

I hate people sticking up for customer support, its the worst system I've ever seen. Tbh, in my opinion, don't ask Jagex, cause chances are they won't know themselves. With some of the updates of seen them bring out, they're definetly not the smartest bunch of people. Go to WoW man, the customer support is complained about there when it takes 30 minutes in game, I just sit back loving it after coming from RS. Jagex are really pushing us all to the edge. I can't understand how they're somehow so successful, it makes no sense ...

OH WOW. To top off my previous post about bounty hunting, I now discover item trading. I CANNOT give my sibling some items to help here along. WOW. That ... is so stupid. Are we children? Do we need our hands held so that we're safe from big bad scammers. GOD DAMN. Jagex, you guys may aswell say, Runescape, reccommended age is under 10 years ... -.- I can't believe the Runescape I've come back to. They may have the money, but they now have a rubbish game in their hands. Shoulda keep it RS1 style, that was true RS :(
