  1. Well obviously money < xp now, but the post is saying it never used to be. I'm not sure if many people ever leveled skills just to be the best, they did it for the money. I guess it's just too easy to get money these days.
  2. I used to pk for fun, but now you have to risk too much to be in contention. Let's not kid ourselves, rsc pking was the best, it was unparralleled. And I can guarantee over 80% of players then were pkers, it was what the entire game was based around. Since rs2 it's gown downhill, no longer can you 3 hit, people can reduce ur dmg dramatically, armor is way to inpenetrable, blah blah blah. So jagex moved more into a pve style, no more were you skilling to further your chances in the wilderness, you were skilling to ... get levels - lul. So yeah, eventually pking has come to this, and it's nearly out of existance. I haven't pked for 3 years now, don't know if I can get back into it.
  3. It's no secret, nearly every update since rs2 has been involved around making Runescape easier. I suggest a large reason for this is to allow for younger players to enjoy the game more, and thus bringing more money into memberships. By easier, I don't mean convenient. I for one am happy about the following: noted items > certs withdraw x > withdraw 2500 fletch x > fletch 1 Etc etc down to herblore combinations, mining, woodcutting etc. That has taken a lot of the needless clicking out of the game. What I'm talking about, is the ease in which to level. Pest control is a good example, never before has combat training been so fast, and unrelated to ... well, combat training. I think this has resulted in many simple 99's, as well as the era of "buying 99s." This is amazing, no longer can you profit from actually leveling a skill unless you do most of the field work yourself, in which selling the ingredients would actually be much more beneficial to your wealth. For instance, fishing sharks and selling them raw grants more money than if you were to cook them yourself. This is prime example of my issue, there is nearly NO reason to max cooking other than getting that skill to 99. I'm sure the same can go for many other skills, from: Cutting your own trees, picking your own flax, making ur own nats + selling > fletching + high alching. For most of you new guys this may seem a pointless post, but there was a stage in which we leveled to GAIN money ( I'm sure most of the rsc'ers will remember the amazing advantages of herblore leveling ). But somewhere that was lost and now we level to get a pretty 99. Please don't think I'm dissing, I do exactly the same these days, I'm merely reflecting on what it's come to. While writing the idea came to me of giving skillers more benefits. Surely there's nothing we can do about the "buying 99 era" now, so why not give those who spend the time and money a little more for their efforts in 99. Discuss, try to avoid flaming, speak your issue and I'll try to answer my side. I can already see many new players hating this topic.
  4. The problem is the level requirements to use items in relation to how much easier Jagex is making everything - from money making to leveling combat. Back in the day while leveling 20 - 40 attack you basically had to have mith or adamant weapons to progress hastily enough through the levels. The same goes from the lvl 40 rune gear to the 60 dragon gear. You could not get away with skipping the purchace of a rune item. This would've been much the same between 60 - 70 ( for whip and barrows ) had Jagex kept this difficulty curve unchanging. However, for some unknown, stupid reason, Pest Control was introduced and players could level stats, without actually partaking in them. Weapon gaps were ignored, and players could rush straight to whip / barrows while ignoring everything else. This is much the same for all pieces of armor, there is no need for mithril, adamant etc, as it is FAR too simple to skip to the best of the best these days. And I'm quite positive, the more they add to it, the easier this game will become, they're nearly forced to increase the max skill above 99, as this feat is no longer exceptional or hard to obtain.

Old, well known, and you're ignorant for thinking that. By the way that would be called EPing, many people who pk get EP before they go pk, not everyone does 76k tricks. Obviously old, obviously well know, not ignorant as no-one who's posted mentioned it, and I considered that to be a lot.
  6. I checked mine just then. Lvl 62, full rune, d long waiting XD I'm keen for a reunion, name a time and place and im THERE
  7. It's back if you played between a certain time, and lucky for me I did, so I can play again. As for updates, maybe - they already added withdraw x, thats insane enough.
  8. I'm playing it right now, there are 0 people online

Lol funny that a lot of you don't know exactly about 76k'ing :P And I don't know if I should tell you. There is a way to appear to risk 76k, but upon death you lose nothing. This is actual 76k'ing
  10. ^this^ There is absolutely no reason that you should be able to potentially loot millions for killing a player risking only 76k. Talk about a massive influx of gp into the game and thus inflation. PvP started out as a zero sum game where a person only looted what the other person was wearing and lost. The problem with the old system was that people were using it to RWT so Jagex had to change it. The problem was that they changed it to the current system where you could loot more than what the other person was wearing. The current system is flawed because its so easily to manipulate and too many people are 76k tricking. The best solution to this is making so you can only loot the value that your opponent is carrying. Jagex don't really care about 76kers, because they aren't doing RWT. BAM. No more 76king. BAM. Welcome back RWT. But what if the MAX amount you could get was what the other person was carrying. The minimum would be nothing, but anywhere between what they were carrying and nothing would be a random drop. I could see that happening. That's not a bad idea tbh. But personally, RWT will still happen somehow, I read that professional sites offer to farm the gold on ur account while you sleep, so all the money goes to you regardless. Sure it's risky for the one handing out passwords, but with bank pins this could be avoided, or trusted websites would win out. Bottom line is, RWT will still happen, no matter what Jagex do. I'd personally prefer it if they kept the pking and such as it were, as them more changes they make, the worse it is getting. I really couldn't care if people are buying money, it's their loss, and it won't affect me. The in game money trade to me is ridiculous ( trade limits, ge), not only are we living in a game of unbuyable items, but the sandbox feeling of giving to your friends is over, including freebies to bloggers. Runescape is slowly turning into a single player game, and will continue to do so the more Jagex add to it.
  11. Oh it is. And the birds nests rock  Do you have any idea of the kind of xp rate at 68 woodcutting (bare minimum)? Would it be worth getting like 75 wc at willows first? Sorry no idea :( But I'd imagine 75 wc would be ideal before tackling ivys, regardless, I'm sure they're still fast. Perhaps cut teaks till 75? That's fast.
  12. Oh it is. And the birds nests rock
  13. Thanks, ur pretty epic tbh. U rape my wc, that'll change one day.

  15. I'm back, this time with no college proxy to get in my way. I will resume with my: 80+ all stats 70+ all stats AGAIN 2000 Total Change my next 99, to 99 woodcutting. The main page has changed, if you read this post first, read the main page, it's all new, but still with old content for some memories. So here goes, getting to it!
  16. Wow pretty decent drops? Can u solo the dragon claw drops?
  17. I took a break for 3 years, I come back and I has no friends. And I is not strong enough to go alone :(
  18. I think Jagex got too excited when making r2h cost 99 smithing. Back then it was quite difficult to get, but very rewarding. It didn't last long enough for people to regard rune as special when THEY THEMSELVES made it. There can be no real incentive to level smithing anymore, as lvl 99 already holds rune - obviously dragon won't be inferior. The only thing they can do is lower the requirements for rune and thus all other armors, but that won't happen. Smithing is finisheeeeeeeed
  19. By this I mean Runescape tasks that can be done minimized, or without much attention. During my afk tasks I can usually either do some study, clean the house, but mostly, browse forums and the internet. I'm sure most of you do the same. So what's your current afk task? Or your favourite ones? My current one would have to be woodcutting ivys, I have the sound turned on and can hear when a birds nest arrives or my ivy branch is finished. After I get 99 I know I'll have to move on, but all I can think of is fishing. Any other ideas, they don't have to be things which lvl a skill, can be anything worthwhile that you do afk. ( If only there was a burn all option - lul )
  20. I've never done more study than I have at ivy's. After i get 99 wc I'll be a bit sad my afk task is gone. Maybe I'll switch to sharks whenever I need more study done.
  21. They changed tut isle when my gf made an account. You have to kill some beasly dragon - weird.
  22. Jagex really should be turning up the quest difficulty, and I don't mean in puzzle solving. More like monster killing, skill requirements, things like that. There's already tons of players with huge skills, so it's not difficult for every Runescape player to achieve a quest cape. I'd like to see it become more of a rare, balanced thing. For instance, imagine a quest requirement of 80+ all stats, that's something I'd have to work on, and am sure it would be worthwhile and to a somewhat elite group of finishers. To me, the quest cape is an icon of all around balance, and the later quests should reflect that.
  23. I want 80 + all stats in hope one day Jagex bring out an 80+ all skills requirement. That'd make my day, especially if the reward was like ... 5 .... 1 mil xp lamps? I can dream k.
