Hunter Leveling Guide - Still Under Construction
I was thinking that, but it seems after the release of hunter it seems everyone is hanging around here, and I want some feedback from the minds of general p2p :P If all goes well hopefully I can put together a decent guide and place it in the correct forum :P

Hunter Leveling Guide - Still Under Construction
Thanks for your feedback, I'm doing some trial and error and making some changes. I'm also planning on adding some pictures and whatnot to add to the guide as well as some alternative routes. There's just so many different things to do, I'm loving it :3>

Hunter Leveling Guide - Still Under Construction
Now I've seen over 100 posts of people giving up on hunter because "it's too slow, it's boring etc etc." 99% of these people start up with "the bird takes too long to ...." You can stop right there, there is your flaw. How did all these people get over lvl 40 in the first few hours of beginning the skill? Here's a short leveling guide on HOW. 1. Levels 1-9 - Snow tracking location: Head north east from Relleka and track until lvl 9, or until you get bored. If you complain about this, just remember how you had to train at the first agility course until lvl 35 agility. Hunter comes in at the perfect moment to begin a new location. If you like, you can track here until lvl 15, but it may take a little while. 2. Levels 9 - 15 - Jungle tracking: Furthest south of fieldtip hills, where the screen turns black. Same tracking principle, just with vines bushes and holes. Do this until lvl 15, or maybe a little over if you're enjoying it. 3. Levels 15 - 23 - Butterfly catching: Already, at lvl 15, the skill changes. Compare this to cooking, fishing, agility etc, where you merely change locations to do the same thing. Hunter avoids this, and immidiently switches to something new. Catch butterflies north west of the gnome stronghold. They won't appear on your mini map, so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled and your reflexes sharp to catch these little red critters. Decent xp, and enough to keep you going until level 23. 4. Levels 23 - 29 - Kebbit Trapping + Butterfly Catching: Now, we move onto the waiting traps, while still catching butterflies in the same location. Bring a hatchet with you to cut the nearby trees to use to prop up the boulders while you continue catching butterflies. This is decent xp, and should get you to 31 with no troubles. You have a choice to switch to net trapping at lvl 29 to catch lizards southeast of canafis, although I'd advise against it as it's merely 2 more levels to switch onto ... 5. Levels 29 - 43 - Lizards: Set up two traps in mortania, and continue checking, releasing and repeating until lvl 43. At level 40 you can set up 3 traps, making xp go even faster! If you're in need of the jungle camo set head over to the jungle andand setup some pitfall traps at lvl 31. I'd suggest sticking to lizards if it's xp you're after. 6. Levels 43 - 46 - Falcon Use: Head back to the woodlands now for a change of pace and scenery. This is a good break from constant trap placement, and it's quite decent xp. Buy your falcon for 500gp, hang out with some friends and catch some spoted kibits. If this isn't your style, just stick to Lizards until lvl 47 :P 1. Levels 47 - 59 - Orange Salamanders: Now we move onto the next stage, and you'll be here for a while. If you haven't already guessed, it's net trapping orange salamanders. Head out to the desert, east across the bridge, and a few paces due east will bring you to your destination. Use three traps for greatest xp, and hunt your life away with waterskins, knives, nets and ropes. It may take a while for lvl 59, but you'll get there eventually. :D 1. Levels 59 - 99 - Red Salamanders: This is believed to be the fastest xp in the game, and most say they will remain here until level 99. --------------------- Well there you have it people, a quick begginners guide. So before you critisize the skill again or claim it to be slow, make sure you have tested the skill leveling methods I've listed above. Happy Hunting! P.S. After reading input from many other people I've decided to work on my guide further and place some other leveling strategies around the place. Thanks for the feedback all!

List of all Hunting Benefits
Then quite simply, don't catch birds. That's just like farmers complaining because they're waiting for their flowers to grow without doing other things invloved. Go track until lvl 15, then catch butterflies, then trap wild kebbits, then trap those larger creatures at lvl 31. I got lvl 32 in no time at all really.

21 November 2006 - HUNTER SKILL!
One person per trap? With hundreds likely hunting on each server? Dumb. Only word for Jagex on that one. well they cant exactly place several hundred traps per server can they, that will be just too unrealistic, and unnecessary. These are just release hypes. Also the creatures would have to fall into a trap themselves, so having several hundred trap in 1 spot is also impractical. think before you post please Agreed. Naturally things are going to be hectic to begin with, it's expected. Other updates had the same affect, but they calm down eventually. In a week there will be far more traps than active people using them.

List of all Hunting Benefits
How about you actually do the skill properly before you post. You haven't tracked, haven't set traps or caught butterflies, and more importantly, haven't multi hunted. All skills start off slow, as is the same with hunting. I enjoy the diversity of it, and am looking forward to future benefits. ---- I would have really liked to have seen people name 7 decent advantages instantly after the release of skills such as agility, firemaking, theiving and farming. If 7 benefits and the introduction of a neat fun skill isn't good enough for you, then you are quite tough to please.

List of all Hunting Benefits
And now, for those who are complaining about the benefits and lacking rewards, heeeeeeere we go (Taken From Searching Knowledge base, plus my own additions): 1. Unique diverse skill. For skillers, this is a dream, as there is many things to do in the skill. I am already hooked :P 2. The barbtail harpoon is a reward from deadfall hunting, once you have trapped and killed a barbtailed kebbit. The harpoon itself is a much more efficient version of the normal harpoon, as it can be equipped, freeing up one extra space in your inventory. 3. Those who enjoy Hunter as much as their Crafting will be able to attach [bleep]es to their leather and dragon vambraces. With a Crafting skill of 32, you can graft the [bleep]es from a wild kebbit onto these vambraces to add a +2 boost to your Strength stat. 4. Range Weapons: Chinchompa Range Level - 45 Range Bonus - + 45 Red chinchompa Range Level - 55 Range Bonus - + 70 Swamp lizard Requirements - Magic, Range and Attack of 30 Bonuses - Slash +10 Range +20 Strength +22 Orange salamander Requirements - Magic, Range and Attack of 50 Bonuses - Slash +19 Range +29 Strength +31 Red salamander Requirements - Magic, Range and Attack of 60 Slash Bonuses - +37 Range +47 Strength +49 Black salamander Requirements - Magic, Range and Attack of 70 Bonuses - Slash +59 Range +69 Strength +71 5. Imp can be used to send two items to the bank 6. Spotted cape reduces player's weight and the Spottier cape greatly reduces player's weight 7. Gloves of silence, made by the fancy-dress store owner in Varrock - if you have two lots of black kebbit fur and 600gp - greatly increase the chance of success when pickpocketing. --------- So there you have it, 7 decent advantages from hunting. There's several more which I'll add in later, for now, it's back to HUNTING!

Oh yeah! Thanks man, forgot all about that. I was in the clothes store, thanks :D

Anyone know how to make the camo gear? The lady in the fancy dress store isn't helping me out at all :(

what was the very last f2p quest you did
Rune mysteries. I finished all f2p quests before rs2 came out, and the only new f2p quest from the release was RM, so yeah, that's mine, and most likely many others.

views on farming?
People who hate farming or say it's too hard to level, are the ones who really do NOT now HOW to farm. Growing vegetables in one places and watching them grow WILL take ages, and none of the high lvl farmers actually do this, so don't go believing it's boring and a very slow skill to level. What one needs to do is plant in 2 herb patches, 2-3 tree spots and 2-3 fruit tree locations. Stock up on the fruits you pick, as they're needed to give to the farmers to look after other items. Come back a day later, and repeat. Doing this will make you spend roughly 10-15 minutes on farming per DAY. It is the most laid back simple skill, requiring NO attention whatsover. Those people who complain about it are ignorant fools who truely believe they must sit at a vegetable patch all day and alch.

Highest CW Kill Count?
Ok I like this topic, so I want to give some tips to keep it alive and active. Everyone head out to cw's to see what kind of a kill count you can get, and make sure you take a picture. Then have the main poster edit it the top 5 scores from different people. Lets go go go!

New weapons?
Hehe, I was waiting for a topic like this, I'm quite sure they are different items, why you ask? Last night I heard from TWO different friends they saw "Mod Mark" at mage bank with dragon boots and what appeared to be a crystal sword. Now with the new picture of this crystal mace the next day, it seems these items are infact legit soon to be released weapons (the two maces do not look the same, one is squred off, the other has more [bleep]es and his cirular). I myself believe these to be ones which will be gained from leveling hunting ^_^

Think You're Good Enough?
Eeek two different application forms and both of the inital posts didn't mention pm'ing  Mine's sent, but to save people reading the threads to find out all the information include in the main title topic to pm applications. I only found out from the main tip it page. Really good idea, looking forward to seeing what the TETau can muster.

Weird thing I found on Tut. Island
For the sake of the tutorial island learning process, Jagex has obviously done this so newcomers have the chance to learn things step by step. 1. Ok so I can burn things, I'l try again. 2. Oh yay I cooked it, time to move on.

Nice work Jimmy, I'll be checking this from time to time for sure :D

Observation about hunting and the economy.
Everyone seems to be forgetting the new items Jagex promised with the release of hunting. Remember the effect slayer had on the economy, who said Hunting won't do the same?
-
Santas disappearing?
I'm not so sure whether to buy some santas, as Jagex did mention "new weapons" from "benefits of leveling hunter." Sound like slayer much? And we all remember the drop in rares to purchase whips. It'll be a very interesting market to watch, but as usual, I think I'm going to stay out of the rare business.

Discussion: what is the best PvP barrows set?
Dharoks. I find it a fun massive ko set. Together with a whip it is complete ownage

With unlimited money...
Lol with unlimited money who said we need to chop and fish? Read the post.

With unlimited money...
Herblore is NOT second. Construction with unlimited money is hands down the fastest, but herblore isn't going to come in second. Cooking is fast, but with unlimited money to spend on other skills it's almost one of the slowest. Firemaking is also fast with magic logs, but there are still much faster levels to get with unlimited money. Ice barrage at bandits is going to almost be the top of the list, however getting to that stage is NOT going to be fast. So farming does miss out here. ------- Funny as it may sound, fletching will come in 2nd place to construction. Buying those rune dart things (forget the name, I'll edit it in) and non stop clicking will get you to 99 in less than a day. Herblore should come in around 3rd, it's fast, but lots of clicking and banking invloved. To those who said use oak planks and make flatpacked tables - use your brain. UNLIMITED money, you're not going to sit there doing something that everyone does anyway to level con.

--Best Update EVER?--
Best : Runescape Members ? :$ Worst - Pest Control Sorry, can't beat those two. Pc has completely ruined the game, users can get 99 range and magic without touching a bow or a rune. Maxing combat in 3 months? Absolutly stupid. Members saw the realease of new map areas, TONS of new skills, tons of new quests and RS's first ever music! Top that.

Cool Usernames 680+ replies and 24k+ views
A few I have: King Neville Pure Neville Elucin8er All three I used to use lots, but after Rs2 I only really play Elucin8er. I would've really loved the name "Neville" as I would've had a deadly team of Neville's :P Neville is my last name for those who don't know. For me, the best names that I've seen include: Zezima - The users real life last name. Phil - Wow, very unique S - Saw in rsc, first and only single letter name I've seen. ------- That's all I have for now. Any original name that doesn't contain letters after a word work for me.
