Yeah, cause no one here does that. :roll: I personally think it's very cool that he's stuck around for so long.. and this topic has more merit than others in this forum. And I also notice that the few resentment comments are coming from the people who are rather new to RS or the clanning world. If you're going to call it bragging (which I really see no hint of in his posts), why can't we call your post jealousy? Let him have his moment - nothing wrong with it.

Wow, get over yourselves. I'm most excited to see DI return if that's the case - but I wonder how many of their members will actually be ex-DI, rather than new blood. It's going to be interesting to see how many retired members will actually return to RS just for this update. It's also going to be cool to have unlimited stake dueling back, as well as the revival of mage bank PKing, and of course, free trades. Not that I play RS anymore, but it'll be nice to watch and see what's going on, and knowing that if I do come back again that all these things will be back.

PvP, no question about it. CWA is pointless.. you have nothing to lose, and likewise, you're fighting for nothing. Tried liking it, but it bores the hell out of me. One of the worst updates to hit RS ever.

Welfare gear - In most clans, especially the top 10, you'd be striked/kicked out if you wore anything but full rune in the wild.. no exceptions. Tele runes were a big no no too. Another thing that would get you insta-kicked. Clans would not tolerate having their reputation tarnished by a few members who were cheap... now you see people in welfare gear all the time, which is pretty sad, cause it's a lot easier to obtain a rune set now that it was at the beginning of RS2. Multiclanning - everyone seems to multiclan these days; being in a country clan, a team, and their primary clan. Call it whatever you want but it's multiclanning. In the old days you'd pretty much be banned from joining any clan if you had the reputation of a multiclanner. Now it seems that clans embrace the multiclanners and just let it slide. People should be loyal to one clan only and focus all their energy on building it, instead of jumping to teams/country clans to cover what your clan doesn't do. Pretty lame. No-returning - Although to a much lower degree, I do miss the no-returning rule. You die once in a war, and you're out. You come back - you cheated, and your clan loses. It's a much better determinant of 'skill' (if there is such a thing in RS) than having the bank (or no life :P ) and being able to return. Although sometimes it is much funner to have wars last hours instead of a half hour or an hour. Account sharing - like HisLordship said, everyone does it. Kind of defeats the purpose of working all on your own on an account, and not that honest when it comes to warring other clans, so not that big a fan of it. Nice topic HisLordship!

I'm afraid i'm going to have to disagree with you, DI didn't control Mb until RSD closed, and then they lost their grip when we(Ag) took over. Although you're right about the other parts. It didn't really start affecting it so much until people started using max gear at mb around the end of 2007. Sorry, but who are AG? Maybe I forgot, or they are outside my time.. I'm talking about the 'MB era' from the beginning of RS2 to late 2005.. there's a missing gap for me after that.. so that's as far as informed as I am. Perhaps AG may have stolen the spotlight after, but all I remember is DI destroying anyone up there.. usually teams from within clans would venture up there, get in a fight with some DI members, and DI would mass up. No one really stood a chance as at the time, DI was really the only p2p clan. I don't recall RsD having too much power at MB before their closure, or after they reopened.. but it's been so long and I may have just forgot.

DI controlled mage bank and p2p. End of story. There was never really any competition up there.. I can't recall any other clans who challenged DI up in p2p wild (can anyone trigger my memory??)... and I can't count the number of sets I lost to DI members world hopping and killing afkers in lvl 52 wild at axe hut (which at the beginning of RS2 was one of the best ways to afk raise your combat... a measely 40-50k xp/hour).. needless to say it was really irritating, but it was worth the xp and the ability to afk. P2p is too dangerous now; requires maxed out melee, magic, range, and prayer, and is just overly expensive. Just no point for any casual players. Why clean your bank out in a few PK trips? And just for comparison sakes, back in that era, the 'best' p2p pking weapon was in the hands of the rangers - the mage shortbow and its special (which was later made a bit weaker)... now we have a whole bunch of new crap, including ancients, which is part of the reason I refuse to step into the p2p wild.

Well, generally, I'd go back to the clan world after RS2 was released.. right when I started clanning. I hold a much better opinion of the clan world back in the day then I do now.. but perhaps that nostalgia comes from the fact that it was 6 years ago, and I was a lot younger, and RS was just more fun. So who really knows whether things are better now or then. But I do know one thing, even though this is just a game, there was much more loyalty to your clan, and clans had more of a sense of family, which was really cool.. also, there was no multiclanning (damn teams didnt exist); clan hoppers were rejected from the clan world, and crashers were shunned as well. So in that way, I definitely preferred it. I definitely have respect for the clans that are still around after so many years.. 'The' (yay), Corr (2x yay), BK, Gladz, RsD, TRWF, EoS, DW, WG etc. I remember TU's war vs. WG back in the day.. it was f2p though. I was the first pile. :-| Ha, I definitely remember that era.. and especially the Gladz vs ZF rivalry.. epic times!! Gladz were top notch in those days (pretty much 1st or 2nd for years) and it was definitely their peak.. too bad things have changed so drastically for you guys (not saying that you're not good anymore.. it would be nice to see another older clan in the top 10 dominating).

Old school era (right after RS2 was introduced): The Unbreakables vs. Rune Raiders Probably the biggest war ever in those days... Rivendell and Allies vs. Legend Legions and Allies (biggest lagfest ever) Any wars with The Alliance. :mrgreen: As far as wars I've been part of this year.. too many to count, so can't really recall any faves, had a lot of fun in a ton of wars with Downfall, specifically the PKRIs.

Well when I first started playing back in RSC, I had no problems. It was only when RS2 came around, that I immediately joined a clan, and I was so into the clanning thing that I started to neglect my real life friends. Of course this was almost 7 years ago, and it didn't last too long.. as I realized how stupid of a game RS really was (after I started losing some of my friends), and pulled myself back. Since I've been back in the last year and a half, nothing really. I guess that's really minor compared to some of the stuff some of you have done (particularly, a "wtf" to pumpkinpie, joke?)
