  1. YOU STILL HAVEN'T POSTED A HIJACKTHIS LOG!!!! I suggest you do as you have been told many times already. This will allow us to see what is running on your computer, therefore we can see if there is a VIRUS, KEYLOGGER, or TROJAN running    We can't help you if you don't do as we ask
  2. Yay, I get to go out the window you loseres! Muhahahha  No, I just meerly wanted to double check  Now we know, see?? This is no different then programming, you gotta test different things to find out what will make it work untill you finally get the solution
  3. Oh yea, explr is my personal keylogger, great way to manage what goes on in my computer  Lol :| You do relise I think it's illegal if you don't tell people you're doing it. ohhhh, I am a rebel! Fight the man!! lol... No, I mean I just have it for LAN parties and such. Usually around 6 A.M. I will go to sleep (fragging makes you tierd) I then set my screen saver to 1 minute and throw on the password protect. We tend to play a lot of pranks on each other and I don't want them messing with my comp. Drawing on a sleeping person is one thing, mauling their computer is another. My friend had another friend put a program put on his computer that would delete 1 random file everytime he booted up. He ended up having an overheating problem so he rebooted over and over... eventually to the point to that "one random file" being a system file... lol Another time, someone opened a friends case and hid his car keys in it. He woke up the next morning late for work and unable to find his keys... when he fianlly figured out where the kid hid them, he also found out the kid fryed his video card (moron lol) Why am I babbling on? Oh because I didn't sleep good last night and I am tierd as hell, so I will share some more stories later on when I die
  4. Oh yea, explr is my personal keylogger, great way to manage what goes on in my computer  I saw the extra button (no name) as well, but wanted a seconrd opinion. Thanks!
  5. Sun java? You might be having troubles because 2 vesions of java are installed, or none are installed, or you selected the wrong version of java at the 'detail select' menu
  6. can you provide us with some more information? We can't help you much if you don't tell us anything, it's like screaming for help after someone takes your wallet, then when people ask whats wrong you tell them "HELP!!!"
  7. Yup, sometimes it is offline for maintainance, or sometimes the MSN servers are just crowded and you have to try and log in 2 or 3 times (which is why I switched to trillion) Trillion is a program that combins AIM, MSN, ICQ, and YAHOO CHAT into one small convienient client. Search for it on http://www.download.com if you are interested
  8. It depends on the age of your computer.... you might need PC ram or DDR ram, and if you buy the wrong stuff your kind of S O L... Make sure you get the right stuff... and say you have DDR ram now, that runs at "slow speed", dont get something that runs at "fast speed" and waste your money because it, in return, will run at the same speed as the slow one once you have that figued out, it is just a matter of turning your computer off, opening the case, grounding yourself, and sticking the stick in the slot :D The rest is self explanitory from there
  9. Sounds like it may be overheating and shutting down to prefent permanent damage. Open your case, and then try having your computer turned on for a while... if it shuts down let a fan blow cool air on in and then start the computer up with a fan blowing air on it.... In the case that is STILL shuts down, it would have to be a hardware problem, I would guess... like already stated, a loose connection, harddrive, and possibly the PSU Note: If it IS indeed overheating, pick up a few case fans from your local computer shop for $5
  10. Thanks for the notice, hopefully you have helped a few people
  11. There are links to it, and many other useful programs in the stickies on this board
  12. Someone said it has something to do with updating BIOS, however I can't be certain because I have my BIOS updated, but no longer have SUN java
  13. Okay... I am counting on merc, hannibal, cameron, grin, pyro.... the crew for this one. I currently don't have a firewall installed (long story) and I am about to disable ctfmon[Caution: ExecutableFile] (completly useless to me) All the 'extra button' junk is my moms (this is a family computer) and I can't convince her to get rid of all her junk. Anyways, take a gander at it and let me know what you find  Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 8:35:08 PM, on 4/23/2005 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\services[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\explr[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\Explorer[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\vso\mcvsshld[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\mcagent[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\vso\mcvsescn[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon[Caution: ExecutableFile] c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\vso\mcvsrte[Caution: ExecutableFile] c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\vso\mcshield[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile] C:\unzipped\hijackthis\HijackThis[Caution: ExecutableFile] R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = localhost O2 - BHO: AcroIEHlprObj Class - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll O3 - Toolbar: McAfee VirusScan - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - c:\progra~1\mcafee.com\vso\mcvsshl.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [VSOCheckTask] "c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\vso\mcmnhdlr[Caution: ExecutableFile]" /checktask O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [VirusScan Online] "c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\vso\mcvsshld[Caution: ExecutableFile]" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MCAgentExe] c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\mcagent[Caution: ExecutableFile] O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MCUpdateExe] C:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\McUpdate[Caution: ExecutableFile] O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon[Caution: ExecutableFile]] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon[Caution: ExecutableFile] O8 - Extra context menu item: E&xport to Microsoft Excel - res://C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\EXCEL[Caution: ExecutableFile]/3000 O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\msjava.dll O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\msjava.dll O9 - Extra button: Messenger - {4528BBE0-4E08-11D5-AD55-00010333D0AD} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\yhexbmes0521.dll O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Yahoo! 14. maybe he has old definitions, or it couldn't be deleted because it was in use (wasn't scanned in safe mode) Anywas, I will congradulate you on one thing, and that is that you were at least smart enough to provide a well written, cleary thought out post about what happened and what you did. Usually we get these types of posts... "OMG I JUST GAWT HAKCED!1! SOMEONE HELP ME PLZ I WERE HACKD!!1!!!" sorry for your loss, hope it wasn't too big... On another note, do you know where you may have gotten the keylogger from?
  15. It comes with microsoft office though... so if you have word, excel, and what not, you should have powerpoint
  16. I am the all holy genie!! I will answer one and only one of your questions!! Yes, this is the right spot to post it... lol
  17. Beats the hell outta me =-\ Join the tip.it mIRC channel and see if your lucky enough to catch grin king or merc, cameron, hannibal ect online.
  18. there any magnets near it? If not, push whatever options button you have on the monitor, and look for something called "De-Gause" then select it and hit okay. turn your monitor on and off a few times, make sure the wires leading to the computer, and monitor are all tightly secure... that is about it. If anything else, maybe the monitor is just going to hell
  19. Mmmm. I guess tipit disabled all code and junk.... so here, copy and paste these into your browseres URL spot to see what I mean: http://img222.echo.cx/img222/7839/laptop9wo.png http://img222.echo.cx/img222/8397/lapyop22cq.png
  20. My guess = overheating. JAVA based games take up alot of CPU (no matter how fast it is) it will almost always run at 100% CPU. As many know, laptops are very compact and therefore can get hot... and quick. I myself have a laptop, but have never had this problem. There should be some vent area's on the laptop, either on the bottomside, or bottom. Make sure nothing is blocking it... I hang part of my laptop off the table it rests on to allow more air to get in and out it is kind of hard to put into words... Let me start up mspaint here you can see I moved the laptop off the teable to allow air to blow out here you can see I propped the laptop up using books to allow air in and out try these, hope they help you!!
  21. What software come with it, did you install it? Are all your drivers updated? Go to your device management and have a look around in the USB junk, and see what results you get. As in, does it recognize the USB 2.0 card?
  22. Lol, nice... I would have to agree with him, I had the same problem and it was thanks to SUN Java
  23. Make sure firfox is set to your default browser and I believe it will use that instead when opening new windows
  24. Might have to do with the securty settings you have set up being too high, that it doesn't want you to enter the iformation in the forum fields because it is 3rd party blah blah... I dunno... Browser?
  25. Look on the steam forums at http://www.steampowered.com There is loads of information on this there, and you don't even have to be a member
