  1. Sorry but I agree with Tripsis. And perhaps your gain is a positive gain. Perhaps your motive is to provide a good example for others and for your own children to carry on the butterfly effect that you're projecting in to the world. That's a great gain in some way, isn't it? I'd have to agree with l0rd. I think people are inherently selfish and will do good things (charity) for that good feeling. It's not neccessarily a bad selfishness, but selfishness nonetheless. There are exceptions of course, but most people do not do charity purely for the work itself.
  2. It's fair if there is no greed, which communism assumes.
  3. That and I always try to make cashiers smile (they always look so bored).
  4. :( Not even eggnog?
  5. It's poor wording implying a comparison of the loopholes of communism to that of RS.
  6. These: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107RTI4C/Polk-Audio-RTi4-Cherry-finish.html?tp=186 They sound amazing.
  7. Old avatar Just for you. That and Eastwood's coming out with a crummy old man vigilante movie, so I figured I'd replace him for now.
  8. I find it amusing that many of these posts are of people tentatively vying for attention from the more established and looked up to posters. Not all the posts, but many. Just an observation!
  9. That and run 3 times a week. Also, my goal is to get a perfect GPA this semester.
  10. :wall: To contribute: The power to make Santa hats appear at will.
  11. Mmm, this is probably going to be me. I'll make damn sure my son(s) get into sports or something when they're young. I didn't, so I'm kinda behind right now. I'll make 'em be smart muscley-arms. I'll also inspire them to be adventurers and heroes. And motorcyclists?
  12. I second this motion.
  13. Charlie Fury's hanging out on Hooker Rd. in postal code 3030. He's a handsome dark blue.
  14. A cute mutt at the pound.
  15. Same way I was raised, in an independent lenient manner. I will also gladly meet boyfriends at the door with a shot gun or blunt object. As for when they are younger, I'll most likely try to enable hobbies, sports, and activities as much as I can.
  16. Awwww

What's a wooden dowel rod? [hide=][/hide] I don't actually collect them, I just said that because I recently found a few dozen. I think I'm going to make a few canes from them.
  18. I hope you cook them first! You could get worms!
  19. When I worked, my boss was a stereotypical no messing around business man. However, he usually worked behind the scenes and we just had to deal with the assistant managers. To add some more details, I worked at a movie theater.

Collecting wooden dowel rods. Which is just one way of saying everything I see on the side of the road that could possibly have some use. For a while we had a rusted out lawn mower engine block sitting in our garden. Good times.
  21. I honestly don't get how you cannot work out how to swim. But if the 15 year old was retarted I'd definately save the 5 year old. 15 is used to better illustrate the point, but could easily be be replaced by 7. I guess I should of said a 3 and 7 year old, but I figured people could understand a hypothetical situation. Ah well.
  22. What mom knows how to swim but her 15 year old son doesn't? A 15 year old would be able to make some effort to save his own life don't you think? Think inside the box!
  23. A much simpler example illustrating a similar point: A town is flooded and a mother and her two children are trying to reach safety. The two children are 5 and 15. Neither can swim. The mother can only save one child. Who does she save? The 15 year old because more effort has been put into their life. More time has been invested raising them.

Comabt knives, sure, but I don't use my kitchen knives to kill anything. In fact, many of them were designed to fruits and vegetables specifically. Then there's my all around knife used for crafts and basic survival that would be a pain to kill anything with. Also, wood working tools. Guns protect through the threat of death. If it wasn't for their inherent function to kill, they would not be good for safety.
  25. I've never understood why people care so much. Sure, many (most) people eat more meat than they should, but that is what should be critiqued instead of taking the extreme approach of vegatarianism. Ah well, extremes are easier to comprehend.
