Exactly my thoughts. The only reason why 9/11 is so big it's because it happened recently. If I happened 60 years ago like Peral Harbour, we wouldn't even be having this topic nor any moments of silence (maybe once in a while).

Terrorism = Communism? :? Secondly, why do people feel 9/11 was the first example of terrorism? If you believe that, then clearly you were blind to the past 200 years in Ireland. 9/11 didn't make Terrorism, nor was it even the first example of Islamic Fundamentalism. It was just the biggest example of it, but it certainly wasn't a precedent. And there is just no way you can compare Communism to Terrorism, unless what you meant by that was the feeling of paranoia (and I'm sorry, I genuinely feel it is paranoia) that struck the Western World and not the ideology itself. What I meant was the Islamic Terrorism in America. Never before we've seen this much Islamic terrorism in America. After 9/11 Bush sent the soldiers to Afganistan and Iraq, perhaps pissing the terrorists off even more and making damn petrol prices higher. :wall: And as Hohto already said, Terrorism fills the gap of Communism in my view. Noneoftheless, I sence something fishy this 9/11. :?

6:00 AM, 4th grade. My mother woke me up around 6 in the morning and saw it. I had no idea how this would impact the world until a bit later. Only recently in 8th grade did I relise how large this single event triggered the new form of Communisim; Terrorism.

Try telling a holocaust survivor (or anyone who has suffered from the holocaust) that they are lying; that it never happened. That statement alone would probably cause a great deal of psychological pain. Maybe one of the most insulting aspects is that this is a historian who is denying the holocaust. It would be very hard if people thought you were lying about the suffering you had to endure over the holocaust. 1 person out of 7 billion whom doesn't believe it? Amazing.
