  1. Yes, that's how it works. And spinning flax is much better xp than you think. :
  2. Alright! I made a more exact time frame for you guys with tight schedules. The event will be going on for about 7 hours, so I hope most of you guys will be able to make at leastg a part of it! The exact date: Saturday, August 12, 3:00 - 10:00 P.M. Eastern Time (GMT-4)! EDIT: I added a quick find code for my thread on the official forums. It's located at the top of my first post, so check it out. 8-)
  3. Anyways, I just posted this on the official forums to get some more popularity, so the opening won't be a complete and total failure. What embarassed me, however, was the fact that I forgot the name of the "Table of Contents". I've been on Summer Vacation too long. :wall: And the kicker is that I'm going into 12th grade in a couple of weeks...
  4. I know it has been taken, but I thought I would make the alternate Tip.It World the home of this company, since you are the first guys to see this. Plus, manoman suggested this world because of his own devious plans.
  5. Yeah, I understand that (which was a reason I was sort of hesitant to suggest this), but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, I guess. Then again, it keeps crafters from having to buy and sell all of the time. And, manoman, consider yourself the co-owner. 8-)
  6. Quick Find Code On Official Forums: It got eliminated for right now...I'll probably get it back up tomarrow. 8-) Call to All Posters!: I'm asking everybody who visits forums other than TIF to post this thread in other places for publicity (Copy and Paste if needed...change as necessary, of course); just credit me and Who Le Ow (manoman) for posting it. Poll: Due to recent complaints about my company located in the alternate "Hyt!" world (which was intentional; it allows people from TIF to stop by without having to change worlds), I am asking you guys to tell me if you think the company should be located in World 99 or in World 27 (the world I might send it to). Introduction: I was thinking about the many runecrafting companies that exist and help both parties get what they need-- more xp for the crafters and more money for the runners. Well, I was spinning flax in World 99, and I hear all these people offering to trade their flax for bowstrings. So I thought: Why not make a company out of it? So here we go; I'm making my debut here right now, urging all of you who hate spinning flax to choose a faster alternative and to help people who need crafting xp to reach their goals. Rules for Crafters: What To Wear: Any white clothes are fine, but Desert Robes are highly recommended. I choose these clothes because they are cheap, highly accessable, and allow the crafters to stand out. What To Bring: All you need to start out with is 28 bowstrings. Rules for Runners: What To Wear: Anything is fine, although darker clothing is recommended to help distinguish crafters and runners. What To Bring: All you need to bring is 28 flax. How Trades Will Work: The company's base will be located in the spinning wheel building in Seers' Village, so make sure you aren't at another spinning wheel location and complain about how nobody's there. Runners will run from the bank to the second floor (first floor for British) of the spinning wheel building, where they will see the crafters clad in white. When the crafters are ready, they will say "Flax Me!"; at this point the runners can trade them (crafters will NOT initiate trades). Runners will give the crafters 28 flax, and the crafters will give 28 bowstrings in return. The crafters will then proceed to string the flax while the runners will proceed to get some more flax from the bank. The process will end until either the crafter gets all of the experience he needs or until the runner has turned all of his flax into bowstrings. Note: We do not support leaches!!! If you see one, please report it on this thread. If I find your report to be justified, I will post the name of the leach for all to see. Please do not trade with these folks! Benefits: Crafters - By eliminating bank trips, crafters will be able to get faster crafting experience and be able to reach higher levels quicker. Runners - By eliminating the spinning process, runners can make tons of flax into much more valuable bowstrings in less time. If this company becomes popular, this might be much better money than picking flax. Summary: Crafters - Good xp, desert robes, bring 28 bowstrings to start, go to second floor of spinning wheel building in Seers' Village, say "Flax Me!" to request trades, do not initiate trades, trade 28 bowstrings for 28 flax, spin, ask for another trade. Runners - Good cash, no white clothes please (dark clothing recommended), bring 28 flax, go to second floor of spinning wheel building in Seers' Village, trade with a crafter that says "Flax Me!", trade 28 flax for 28 bowstrings, go back to bank to put away bowstrings and get flax, go back to building and trade with a crafter again. Conclusion/Important Note: I don't know if this will work out, but if it does, it might be a great thing and something that could change the fletching and crafting skills, at least a little bit. : I understand that I can't expect this to be a 24/7 company right away, so I'm going to set a date for people to come and try this out. I'm only keeping this on a small scale now to see how it works out. The first date is: FRIDAY NIGHT! The event shall start at 3:00 Eastern Time (United States; GMT-4) and will go on until 10:00, unless something pops up. Just pop on by during this time frame, and you should meet some nice crafters and runners. It would be nice if you could talk about these events and post pictures, so as to encourage other people to join. Please tell me what you think of this idea, as any constructive criticism is welcome! :D Thank you and happy crafting!
  7. Thank you for your information, Aquashock! Anyways, I finally got the secondary section down. The next portion of the guide is going to be a portion experience/preparation list. Moderators, please move this to the Archive of Wisdom forum. It should be much more useful there.
  8. I just got a Spirit Seed from Miscellania today! Also, 73 Attack, 73 Defense, 73 Strength, 91 Combat, and 1500+ Total Level!
  9. Agreed. I stink at the mini-game. I always seem to mis-read it slightly. I make the item, take my time a little bit, and then realize I cooked the wrong type of worm cuisine with a few minutes left to go... #-o Then again, I had a bad day yesterday...I'll try it again.
  10. Congrats on the stats! Hey, I'm a poet and I didn't even know it! Anyways, I'm also here to say that I accept your challenge, even if you do have a major lead. :D
  11. 65 Crafting! w00t! Just visited my kingdom today...I got about 450 maples, 1250 flax, 4 birds nests, a sapphire ring, an emerald ring, and 2 willow seeds. All for only 75k. :P
  12. Congratulations! I'll try and keep an eye on this. =D> I still can''t believe you sold so many addy axes....
  13. Introduction: I will announce that I am competing with him to get 70+ in all skills. I would like to point out, however, that I have been working on this goal for about as long as he has; he did not inspire me to do reach this goal, it was of my own desire. Anyways, this will be an all-out competition. We will fight each other for glory and UBER skills! *Whisper* *Whisper* What? Saying uber is nooby? Oh, who cares? Without further ado, here are my skills and current goals. Skills and Goals: Format: Skill: Starting Level/Goal/Current Level Total Level: 1491/High ()/1548 Levels Until 1500 Total: 9/0/0 DONE! Levels Until 1550 Total: 59/0/2 Levels Until 1600 Total: 109/0/52 Attack: 72/75/74 Defense: 72/75/74 Strength: 72/75/74 Hitpoints: 75/80/76 Ranged: 70/75/71 Prayer: 57/70/60 Magic: 72/75/73 Cooking: 73/80/74 Woodcutting: 81/85/82 Fletching: 71/85/71 Fishing: 70/76/71 Firemaking: 68/80/80 DONE! In this section of my blog, I will compare how far each of us is to that famous stepping stone. Levels Until 70+: Me - 57 Oilertay - 100 Lowest Level: Me - 55 Construction Oilertay - 26 Construction Highest Level: Me - 81 Woodcutting Oilertay - 90 Strength Total Level: Me - 1525 Oilertay - 1553 Number of Skills Below Level 70: Me - 8 Oilertay - 9 Total Experience: (As of 8/7/06; ~8:00 P.M. Central) Me - 16,444,514 Oilertay - 33,791,493 Total Experience: (As of 8/15/06; ~10:00 P.M. Central) Me - 17,658,352 Oilertay - 33,939,145 Experience Needed For 70+ All Skills: (As of 8/7/06; ~8:00 P.M. Central) Me - 3,322,623 Oilertay - 3,406,303 (Construction XP was found by averaging the XP values needed for 19 and 20 [rounded up]). Experience Needed For 70+ All Skills: (As of 8/15/06; ~10:00 P.M. Central) Me - 2,683,336 Oilertay - 3,269,057 (Construction XP was found by averaging the XP values needed for 22 and 23 [rounded up]). As you can see, it will be a close battle. Oilertay's biggest advantages are his crafting and farming levels, whereas mine are my runecrafting and construction levels. How will it turn out? Nobody knows. Oilertay's Thread: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=487414 Please visit this. You need to see both sides of this competition in order to fully enjoy it. Keep competition alive! Conclusion: I put this up because this blog isn't COMPLETELY about getting 70+ all skills..I will be gaining a few more random levels along the way. Mind you, once I reach all of these, I'll just change my goal and start all over again, so this thread should be existing for quite a while. I will be posting about my day to day experiences (1 story per day, with a picture). I will post whenever I get a level, just like oilertay, so any fans of his work should be familiar. I will not, however, make any pictures of each level. It's a pain in the rear, a waste of my album, and a waste of bandwidth. I might, however, post a picture when I reach a goal (such as a picture of 70 herblore or 85 fletching). MAYBE. Anyways, I'll be adding to this from time to time, so keep on checking on this alright? Also, for those who inquire, me and oilertay are respectful rivals. We won't be sabotaging each other's threads or be at each other's throats. We have agreed to this competition, and I hope you visit both of our blogs to keep up to date. BTW, welcome back, Oilertay! :P
  14. I read this and I thought that I should respond to this. No, I'm not well-known. No, you've probably never heard of me...or saw anything I wrote for that matter. Fine. But please listen to this, at least this one time. You'll hit high points in Runescape, and you'll hit low points, just like in real life. When you'll get them is not known, and to be honest, it doesn't matter all that much. When you're knocked down, just get back up. Simple as that. Frustration? To hell with it! You're better than that; at least I hope so. You still have more in your bank than I do, and I'm still able to have a great time on the game. I've lost the vast majority of my net worth before, in one fell swoop, enough to make it so that my hands were shaking from the shock of being able to lose things that quickly. The best thing to do is to make it back, one step at a time. If you wait too long, it'll haunt you...the feeling will compound upon itself, consume you, scare you away. But if you get back and make even just a small portion of that back, it's a whole new deal. You realize that you CAN do it, and that it CAN be done, and that nobody and nothing will keep you from succeeding. Sure, they can throw a few blows at you, and sure, you can keep on lifting yourself out of the gutter and walk towards your goal. There's one thing I've always been taught, and the one thing I'll hopefully never forget. People can take your possesions, your fame, your identity, your family, your opinions, your thoughts, your hopes, and your dreams. But they cannot take your pride...they cannot take your memories, your being. What you do with that is up to you, not to me or any of your friends here. I'm not going to feel sorry for you, so don't expect me to say "Poor you", because I'd rather beat myself in the head with a hammer. I can, however, respect you for realizing that this shouldn't make you quit. You might think I'm too obsessed with the game. No, I'm not. But what you do in Runescape is oftentimes what you'll do in real life, because behind every character is a human being. Runescape is only a computer game, but it's inhabitants show the essence of human nature and what it will do when the laws of nature change. That's why people will notice that many MMORPGs have the same feeling, even though they may have many different concepts. Think about it. EDIT: I hope you know what I mean. I'm not exactly the best person with words. If you get my point, then I'm happy I posted this.
  15. Good luck, oilertay! As your rival, you know I'll be creating a nice little blog soon. Oh well...enjoy your fame while you can. And remember...blackjacking meaphite thugs is the best thing I found to get from 65-70. Well, either that or Pyramid Plunder.
  16. Just out of curiosity, I see that Bob put (NI) after his name in one of the letters. I don't want to sound like a fool, but what does it mean anyways? The only things I could find using an acronym finder that sounded anythiung like it was "No Idea", "Not Interested", and "Net Income". It also is the abbreviation for Nicaragua, but I doubt that it has anything to do with it... :/
  17. Well, that not necessarily be true...people are only assuming what the new prayers do exactly. And, well, you know what assuming does...
  18. You spent like 3 hours making your topic? >_> That's like what, one letter a minute? Try this instead: I started to write a topic hours after release about that release because I was shocked that nobody had done so and before I finished somebody posted something similiar. Congratz on looking like an idiot, though. Unless I'm reading this wrong as well, his point still stands. I remember seeing this topic about 3 hours ago and it already had quite a few posts when I saw it. I mean, unless you took a 4 or 5 hour break in the middle of making your thread because of things in rl or just didn't see this thread earlier... Anyways, I hope they do raise the "Protect From ____" prayers that much. It would raise the reqs on quests with powerful monsters and make it so that you need to raise your cb level higher to get the protection. This combined with making prayer count more towards your prayer level will end all of those "prayer noob" comments for good and make cb more accurate in telling the strength of a player in combat.
  19. Why wouldn't you be able to high alch crossbows? I just alched my mith crossbow for 469 gp. No, definately not a good money maker by alching.
