  1. I'm working on getting 50 construction, spending less than 50k, including spending on shrubberies in the garden and building extra rooms. You heard me right! I will go from my current construction level (29) to 50 construction without spending a single gp! I already have collected the materials to go to about 41 or 42 construction.
  2. It's really funny...I posted something on the rogue's den trick a month or so ago, but nobody would listen to a noob like me. But, yeah, they probably shouldn't have had anyways. It takes forever to get the gems and the gold ores, smelt the ores, make the rings, and enchant them. It would probably be quicker to try making pottery (pot lids are nice) or tiaras. Then again, I was only 58-ish theiving, so who knows?
  3. Well, I may be a relatively inexperienced skiller, but I do have a few tips on training construction without spending too much money; this is only here to help--I don't mind whether any of these ideas are incorporated or not. Let's begin: So you're more parsimonious than Scrooge, more cheap than jokes about Micheal Jackson, and want to keep what wealth you have managed to hoard and still level up constuction! No worries! Limestone bricks are for you! You've heard rumors, maybe. Limestone bricks are for noobs! No self-respecting person would ever use them! Alright, so they aren't the greatest xp in the world, but they'll get you one step closer to 99 construction without burning a hole in your pocket. 40 magic, 41 mining, and 5 construction are needed. A crafting level may be needed, but I'm not sure. 1) Get the necessary materials to start this method. You should obtain some laws (~1 law rune for every 25 limestones you plan to use), a pick (rune is best), boots of lightness, some airs and earths, and 1000 gp (if you only have one garden), and a chisel. Extra runes are recommended. Also, it is great to have a piece of jewelry that allows you to teleport (ring of dueling is best). 2) If you only have one garden, go to your house and make a garden (this will cost you 1000 gp). 3) Tele or walk to varrock and go to the eastern bank there. Withdraw a rune pick and the boots of lightness. Equip them! 4) Go past the sawmill operator and look for a limestone mine by where you start the "Rag and Bone Man" quest. Mine 28 limestone. Tip: Each limestone rock can be mined 3 times! It is recommended that you stand in-between two limestone rocks and alternate mining them. 5) You can now do one of two things: run back to varrock or tele there. The former is highly recommended because it allows you to carry 3 more limestone and saves you some runes. Bank the limestones you have collected at the eastern bank. 6) Repeat steps 4-5 until you have all of the limestones you need. 7) Now withdraw a chisel from the bank and 27 limestones. Chisel all of the limestones into bricks (use the chisel with the limestone) and bank them. Repeat until all the limestones have been chiseled. If you can get a saw and a hammer in your house, follow these instuctions: 8a) Now make your inventory have 1 law rune, 1 air rune, 1 earth rune, and 25 limestone bricks. 9a) Teleport to your house and go get your hammer and saw. If you can't, follow these instructions: 8b) Now mke your inventory have law runes, air runes, earth runes (any number is fine), and 20 limestone bricks. 9b) Teleport to your house. Both choices should merge now: 10) Exit the portal and re-enter your house in building mode. 11) Go to your second garden and choose to build a centerpiece. Now build a decorative rock. Demolish it. You should be able to build 4 (5 if you chose path A) decorative rocks per trip. Now go to the nearest bank or teleport using a piece of jewelry. If you are using a ring of dueling, teleport to Castle Wars because it is close to a 1-click bank (this is the best method). 12) Bank and repeat steps 8-11 until all of the limestone bricks have been used. It took me a while to make this; I hope it helps you.
  4. Oh cool, I'll go if I can, and I'm pretty sure that I can make it! I'll be going too. I definately need the experience =).
  5. Alright, I'll wait for a mole trip or something of that sort. I'd love to join you guys, but I've only read guides, nothing more. I wouldn't want anybody to get killed because of my blunders. :)
  6. Just out of curiosity, what are your reqs for KQ killing, captianant?
  7. So how did this start anyways? I heard that this apperantly occured at cursed you's party (collecting what evidence I've read), but what happened exactly? Was it a dungeon gone mad, or an oubliette twisted, or what?
  8. The_Socc_Masta, I posted something like this a page or two ago. I think it should be based more on points than appointed positions, but that's just me. Also, deangut pointed out that all ideas should go on the SODB forums and not in this thread...then again...who am I to say anything?
  9. Basically, yeah. It's the same thing you guys are going on now, but it's more organized and allows people to work as a whole rather than as a bunch of unsynchronized parts. EDIT: I deeply apologize. I didn't know. ;)
  10. You guys need a more organized system. I'm not actually part of the SODB yet, but I can tell you that your current system isn't working out too well. I think something like a trust point system would work well. The basic outline would be something like this: KBD trips would give 2 trust points. KQ trips would give 4 trust points. Dag King trips would give 6 trust points. These points would only be awarded IF the player is found to be helpful and if he shares his loot equally among his other players (i.e. found to be generally trustworthy). The points for each person should be placed in the first post or on another post--whatever is deemed necessary. At this point, only the "leaders" of this "clan" (don't know of a better word for it) can post trips...make that 10, maybe 15 people tops. These people may choose to put a certain restriction as to who can go. For example, only those with 5 trust points or more may attend an event. This will allow more trusted players to attend, but it will also limit who can go and possibly make it so that a much smaller group than usual will fight (making it harder for everybody). Thus, people who are creating events must make sure to post a PROPER limit...the more dangerous the event, the higher the limit should be. Of course, the creator may change the limit if and only if it is deemed necessary. The higher the trust limit, the more extra trust points a person can earn (but they will have to perform at a higher standard, one expected for a person at their trust level). Limit: Extra Points 0-5: +1 6-10: +2 11-15: +3 16-20: +4 21-25: +5 etc... So a Dag King trip that has a limit of 25 trust points would earn everybody who attended and performed as expected 11 (6+5) points. Later on, limits may be placed as to who may create an event. For example: 25 trust points to create a KBD event. 50 trust points to create a KQ event. 75 trust points to create a Dag King event. These limits may be raised or lowered by a majority vote (the limit to be able to vote should be about 2 trust points or so--the vote limit may be raised by a 2/3 vote if deemed necessary). I hope it's not too complex--if you find it hard to understand, I'll try to clarify. NOTE: I guess you could call them experience points too. Hey, I got 0 SODB xp!
  11. Since when does 300 + 80 = 1,100? It's 380, I believe. Thus, the equation would be: 38,000 + 340X - 380X = -40X + 38000 That means it would take 950 teleports for it to pay off, assuming you teleport to your house every time.
  12. Well, I've never taken a class on economics, but I just spent the last half an hour researching some of the details of the terms you had in your first post. Considering the fact that real-life economics and RS economics are so different will make many of these impossible. Just out of curiosity, what is the huge difference between commodity value and CPI? To me, they sound like the same thing, at least when it comes to Runescape. Anyways, you could probably do: CPI PPI Money Inequity (Maybe, but I'd think it would require a poll) I would probably just analyze CPI and PPI, seperating it for each skill. The tip.it market forums would be great for this. Good luck! EDIT: Of course, you won't be doing CPI or PPI exactly, but Runescape's version of it. For example, analyze iron, coal, runite, steel plates, iron knives, rune items, barrows items, dragon items, essence (noting before and after update), nature runes, air runes, law runes, seeds, herbs, pots (specifically magic, super restore, range, and prayer pots), abbysal whip, lobbies (raw and cooked), sharks, and other items. Make sure to keep updates in mind, though.
  13. Mourning's End part 2, even with a guide, is by far the hardest. It leaves Desert Treasure in the dust. Argh! The handholds! Noooooo! 1 agility obstacle cost me hundreds of trouts and 30k in laws.
  14. This thread has become more about bashing me than anything else. I'm not saying that I do not think lurers are disgusting or horrid or wicked, but at least they use their own strengths to kill their victims. About the "indiscriminant" part, I think I should've been clearer; you state that it is an evil trick against pk'ers, but I'm stating that you're killing everybody, not just those that prey on the weak. I know that the wildy is a dangerous place, and I assume the risk whenever I enter it, but I would rather have it that an "honest" pk'er kills me and earns my items than a weasel position a high level monster and loot me. So, fine...bash me all you want. I have a right to state my position (within limits). But if you want my opinion, as blunt as I can put it, you're a pk'er wannabe that couldn't hack it in the wild who decides to manipulate an NPC that is designed to give players a challenge in order to steal from other possibly innocent players. Yeah, it's a game, they're only pixels, and it's only a few gp. But your actions, even those in-game, tell me what you're really like. And I have, as far as I know, never killed anybody without being attacked first or in a friendly duel.
  15. Thanks for everything, guys (and girls). What would you think of the wilderness update if it did come out, knowing what information we've been given thus far?
  16. I'd join you, but I'm inexperienced, mage level 65, range level 64, and 85 combat. But I'd be happy to join in any position you deem me useful in. EDIT: I do realize that I'm not the perfect candidate. I also realize that I should probably range, since that is the easiest of the three. More or less, I'm merely stating that I would be interested in future trips and, if worse comes to worse, range for this one.
  17. OK, you're right. I must've misread it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It's times like these that make you feel like a real idiot. 8-)
  18. Oh no, I'm not complaining. I understand that construction is a huge update and that it takes time and effort to make. I'm more or less wondering why Jagex never mentioned it all (even saying they would delay it) for a long period of time) in the entire month of May. I was planning to write this a week or two earlier, but I thought that the whole hype about construction would make it ignored. Guess I should've waited longer, eh?
  19. When, in early April, I first heard about the Wilderness Tag update, which would allow people to gain combat levels through alternate means. Around the last week of April, we were told that it would come out AT A LATER DATE because they were tweaking it. It has been, however, over a month since that we were last told about it. What could have happened to the update? Was it cancelled? Will we get it this month? EDIT: I seemed to have misread the post, and I apologize. Anyways, are any of you looking foward to the update if and when it comes? P.S.: Yes, I decided that there should be a post that WASN'T about construction.
  20. Wow I guess no one can have fun with out someone criticising on how someone plays a game. All I'm saying is that I disapprove of it. Just because I don't agree with you about its morality does not make me wrong in any way or form, nor does it make you wrong. I merely voiced my opinion on the matter...the wilderness is not about using NPCs to slaughter your opponent. If you were getting back at a person who wronged you, I could understand, but you're killing indiscriminately! And that I don't agree with.
  21. Can't is a very strong word. There are two ways to do it for free: decorative stones and ponds.
  22. That's cheap, wicked, and cowardly! If you want to loot people, at least earn it! Note: He uses the Chaos Elemental to attack people as they're using the teleport obelisks in the wilderness. When they arrive at his destination, they are killed mercilessly. He then proceeds to take their stuff. P.S.: You make luring PK'ers look good.
  23. Just out of curiousity, do you have any requirements for the three positions?
  24. It's not? So one mess-up and you lose all of your health? It's not like I kept on clicking it...I just messed up once and it kept on getting hit for 8. Even when I tried to click on solid ground, I still lost health. Can somebody confirm this?
  25. Yeah, I reported the bug. Still no reply, though.
