I found the EXP/Level Formula!
I saw this, and I was reminded of a theory I once heard of (forgot its name or who proposed it...sorry). Apperantly, it has been mathematically proven that there is no formula that can solve equations that are to the fifth power or larger...it must be done by guesswork. So I assume that's why your calculator can only go to the fourth power, but I'm not entirely sure of it. I'm a calculator programmer to a certain extent, but I've never heard of quartic regressions. But your explanation of it makes it perfectly clear. I've always wanted a calculator to do this, but I never knew it could! BTW, do you know how you can make a TI-89 do quartic regressions? Note on the post above: I doubt there would be a formula that would describe the price of rares, because it is completely dependent on the corrupt minds of merchanters. *Gets mauled by R2Pleasent*

Level 93s 100th barrow run. (barrow log)
Just a small note: In the post you say you never use prayer on ahrim, but in the picture right above it you can clearly see that you have the protect from magic prayer on. :) *Looks at post below* That might be the reason...hmm...

Just a thought about construction and limestones...
You know how mort'ton sells limestone and limestone bricks for about 13 gp ea, right? Well, why not buy them out, bank in the next town over (I don't really know the name, sorry), and then use them to build decorative rocks? You could buy limestone and chisel it, or buy limestone bricks, which saves time but costs more and sacrifices some crafting xp. Anyways, it seems like it would be much quicker xp than mining the limestone. It gives 20 contruction xp per limestone, compared to about 60 per oak plank, so it goes at about 1/3 or less of the speed of planks, but it's much more affordable. It won't be the best xp in the world, but it is quite affordable.

10,145 Willows On The Wall... 10,145 Willows...
easy but so slow slow.. are you joking.. Make Adam/Rune darts you will get 99 in a week or 2 Is that buying the bars, buying the ores, or doing everything yourself?

10,145 Willows On The Wall... 10,145 Willows...
Um, you know willow longs (u) sell for about 16 ea at a general store, right? The only way you're making any money at all is if you'd string them, which would be incredibly stupid, or if you cut them yourself.

10,145 Willows On The Wall... 10,145 Willows...
Same boat, except i need about 500 or so more. I'm cutting mine, and another 2k logs for 65 firemaking. :D I've cut about 6.2k...I really need to get back, since I've spent about 5 days away from it getting rune defender and going from 56 to 60 crafting in World 59. I'll go back to cutting once I become a master white knight. Yeah, I'm actually killing 1.5k black knights for those white boots. They'd be useful for barrows, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this go in the Goals and Achievements forum or the Help and Advice forum?

What's your quirk?
Checked again. Mixed up the strength and prayer columns. Thnx =).

What's your quirk?
Face it. We're a community, a group of people that somehow became interested in this game, found these forums, and have melded into one large, insane, freakish being. But, like all people, we're "special" in our own ways. What's your oddity? What's makes people think of you as an individual? Be it an odd level in a skill, the way your character dresses, what you do on the forums, or even your amazing or shady experiences. Let's hear them. How are you unique? I'll give mine. I achieved this recently; it's nothing really amazing, but it's the best I could come up with. It was either this or mention that I was stupid enough to suggest that gems be used for arrowheads... :wall: Would this be put in Discussions, General, or General P2P? I'm not sure, because many of the quirks would involve P2P aspects (and the Rune Defender add-on as well), but it could also be considered a "discussion" by some as well...

Next Dragon Weap
To be honest, nothing except maybe a dragon pickaxe would be a useful release (and only if they change it so that it and the dragon woodcutting axe gave slight bonuses and had a requirement of at LEAST 51 mining/woodcutting). If you want a weapon that would look great in dragon, it would be the warhammer. If they fancied it up like they did the dragon scimitar, that thing would pawn (in looks anyways)! Just my two cents.

Crafting, Slayer, Farming, Construction, Firemaking-Lacking?
Level 4 clues were gone long ago...d plate is revised...doom runes are gone, but i still think normal magic should have spells that go up to 97-99 or something of that range. That's just me, though. You guys have any suggestions?

Crafting, Slayer, Farming, Construction, Firemaking-Lacking?
Anyways, I listened to some of your suggestions, and I believe many of them are right....so I changed my suggestions. NOTE: I just wanted to bring a decent discussion to the table. I, like most people, raise the skills for the fun of it. I was just wondering what people thought of these skills. I'm not here for profits, and I'm not a greedy being. I'm not a merchant, and I don't mind giving money away to a person that needs it without ever expecting anything in return. No, I'm not a saint by any means, and I may be too optimistic, but only wishing for the best out of these skills isn't a crime, is it? I was just throwing some ideas, although a few may be outrageous, and I hope you do the same. It's quite doubtful that any of them will ever be implemented, but I want to see what the tip.it community thinks about the topic. So, what do you guys think? Anything is fine, within reason of course.

Crafting, Slayer, Farming, Construction, Firemaking-Lacking?
Alright, so the slayer items aren't too great. I still think they aren't horrid, though. Considering that you get the best weapon in the game at 85 slayer, shouldn't there be an even better reward for those who get 2 to 4 times the slayer xp? About the construction thing, I completely agree. Consider it gone. EDIT: Actually, I'd like to know when Jagex said that dragon plates wouldn't be released. Not that I don't believe you...it's just that I want to see it with my own two eyes. Also, it's not that I want Jagex to come out with updates all at once. It would just be nice if these skills are updated over time. Bobby, not that it matters much, but that was your 666th post. What dramatic irony...

Crafting, Slayer, Farming, Construction, Firemaking-Lacking?
Yes, Underground Pass gave me the idea; these arrows would have a distinction between each type, and would have a slightly different animation. Also, maybe the arrows might have a chance to burn the enemy, lowering its stats and its speed temporarily. Also, tefda, I tried world 59. Nobody there. :\

Crafting, Slayer, Farming, Construction, Firemaking-Lacking?
Well, these skills are all interesting enough on their own, but they take forever to raise (except in the case of firemaking, and in some cases, construction). But, when you're a high level, what do you really get off of them? Crafting nets you the ability to make onyx, dragonstone, and d'hide armors. That's great and all, but the market is only so large. Prices just keep on slipping, and it seems almost impossible to make a decent profit off of the skill. Slayer has three, maybe four redeeming features. Slayer dart, dust devils (dragon chain), abyssal demons (abyssal whip), and jellies (for lower levels) are the only worthwhile aspects of the skill. Farming nets you the ability to grow worthless "special" crops, magic trees which are of little or no use, spirit trees, and coconut trees. Construction does allow you to make tons of items, but they only have limited uses. Prayer, spell tablets, house parties, unlimited beer, games, overpriced chairs, and talking heads are the epitome of this skill. For the money invested, houses aren't exactly bargains by any stretch of the imagination, either. I will be kind to it, however, because the skill only just came out. Firemaking--what can I say? If it wasn't for the mort'ton area and splitbark, the symbol should've had a dollar bill burning instead of logs. If you waste logs by burning them, you gain the ability to throw away 1k at a time in a single bound! W00t! I think that the skills need a little something extra. For example: 1) Crafting: Use gems as arrowheads! Each gem could give 30 arrowheads and could be used by a special bow. Any gem (up to diamond) could be used to make arrows. Perhaps a new ranger armor could be released for 88+ crafting that could have the hide of an entirely new beast; perhaps something like a dagganoth? Let's be honest; karil's armor isn't exactly mind-blowing... 2) Slayer: Dark beasts should drop something like dragon boots, a level 95 monster should drop a smoke battlestaff (mixture of fire and air battlestaves), and a level 99 monster should drop a unique item of some sort (like a crystal staff or something of that sort; both used for power and as a status symbol). 3) Farming: There should be new herbs you can grow in order to make new pots for level 83+ herblore. These herbs would be avaible only by being grown, and their seeds should be available only from higher leveled monsters (level 85+). Also, there should be fruits grown in allotments that heal large amounts of damage (maybe up to 50 per fruit; note that the fruit would have to be cut in 2) or provide special boosts; of course, the seeds would be very rare and the fruits very valuable. 4) Constuction: More things like the barrows armor repair stand should be released and should be able to be flatpacked. Also, there should be items that could be used in combat, like fortresses that protect players in battle. A person called the engineer could help other players face high level monsters by using materials to block enemy attacks. In a sense, the engineer could be like an unofficial cleric. 5) Firemaking: You could use the skills to set fire to arrows in order to increase their attack power. Bronze arrows would require the same firemaking level as normal logs, but rune arrows would require the same level as magic logs. Also, there could be an area where firemaking skills could be used to empower items, such as an altar to raise prayer that requires you burn one of each log to activate it (maybe an even higher altar that requires 90+ construction). As you can see, these are only a few of my ideas for it. What do you think these skills need, if anything? And I hope this very long post was something different that all these generic posts lately... :P. EDIT: The lit arrows are based off of the "Underground Quest" ones. I just felt that they are a neat idea and should also be used for combat. Alright, alright, so it goes in this forum... sorry.

June 13 Update: Warrior Guild!
So it's nighttime in America, and yet the few people that still are playing come together to chant the coming on doomsday. And people say that humans are the most intelligent creatures on earth. I think that a boot could outsmart most of the people in that picture.

Woodcutting Training Question
After trying everything out again, I found that the xp per hour of maples are very close to the xp per hour of willows (35k per hour with maples, compared to about 41k with willows). I think that I will not be able to cut willows any faster than I'm doing right now, but I still think that maples may still be cut slightly faster than I''m cutting them now. I'm wondering if, at any time, maples will be better xp.

Encounters with famous top players?
Man, I met a top player once. Too bad I can't remember her name. I was crafting to her, greeting her at the nature altar. She had a combat level of 126, so I decided to look her up in the high scores, only to find she was the 11th best player overall.

Woodcutting Training Question
I'm 77 wc atm and I'm hoping to get 85-ish for no reason whatsoever. What I'm wondering: Are maples or willows better for xp per hour?

Barrows Pack! Post yours!
actually its 10 + (first digit of your magic) I had 79 magic and i was hitting 17 max, when i leveled to 18, bam i started to hit 18's. Which makes it even better. True...I should've said it hit 16s for me. Just three more levels until I hit 17s...

Barrows Pack! Post yours!
It's called slayer dart. It's cheap, effective, and it hits hard. For 16 max damage, you'd expect to pay more than 1 death and 4 minds. :) Note that it does require 55 slayer.

Watch out monsters here we come *SODB* [U]
4 trips--nothing. I'm losing money steadily...I guess I'll have to pawn off the 2k chaos I've gotten. This is the first day I've done barrows. It's actually really fun! And I finally got it so I can do it with one prayer pot... Thanks, socc.
