  1. I only found 4 of the new potions worthwhile to make... Supreme overload- replaces normal overloads (and essentially costs you nothing). Brightfire potion- combines super antifire and prayer renewal for dragons (since you are using both, anyway). And you get 2 free doses of super antifire... Replenishment potion- combines adrenaline and super restore potions. Inv space+ free adr doses. Perfect plus- don't have to bother thinking about all the perfect jujus and it lasts soo freaking long.
  2. Kind-of crawled over the finish line but meh... (1Bxp) Hoping to cut back on playing time even more and be back for ports v3.
  3. The main reason i would even be suggesting something like this is, contrary to what sy describes as a well oiled machine, i see as a disgraceful mix between nepotism and russian ''democracy'' when it comes to a large portion of player feedback to mods. And this comes from years of experience and knowing someone who had very close relations to a number of jagex mods (and his suggestion was actually turned into the duelling arena). The ninja fixes are a great example, actually. If you carefully look at many of them over time, you can see that there are specific themes where the interest of a few is being served in order to accomplish trivial things. All this accomplishes is, as we have seen over the years, is that the mods have an extremely skewed and simplistic view of the game, which is why i don't think they should be picking the part of the community they will listen. ''Power to the players'' hasn't improved the situation one bit. To the low leveled argument, you could also argue that someone who has an university degree shouldn't be teaching a first grader but then again... Sure, you can't decide whether they should be taught, but what and how? sure.
  4. I've never suggested random selection. More in terms of different election groups: one group being picked by the whole community (likely a power to the players poll) and another being picked by separate runescape communities (like tif), maybe even a few top clans. The point is that as of right now, jagex is basically crowdsourcing ideas off of everyone, and those ''everyone'' are a random group of people. I'd like them to channel their focus to a more select group, being based on atleast some substance.
  5. I do realize there would be issues to overcome to make something like that work but there would also be clear and distinct difference between a normal democratic government and this sort of arrangement- they wouldn't have any actual power, they wouldn't be getting any direct benefits (except for, say, a chat badge) for doing it and you'd also be able to just blame them for everything. Of course the point that will train wreck it is you cannot even remotely hope to represent a playerbase on thousands upon thousands with different play styles, cultures and priorities with only a handful of people. Plus of course the 'elected' and 'choosen' would inevitably be the youtuber/famous players that are really really unrepresentative of the community as a whole. The elected and chosen was meant to say that some would definitely be popular players chosen my the masses (likely top pagers/streamers), but there would be a nice balance to them being chosen to represent every sub-community (for example, tif) aswell. It's also naive to think you need to be low leveled to represent low leveled players, neither do you need to be homeless to represent those that are...

  7. It's called a win-win. Too bad it's a lose-lose from our perspective. I really do feel as though instead of having only public voting, runescape should have some sort of a player-'government' consisting of elected and chosen members (about 30-50 of them) to advise jagex on the balancing and general direction of content. But meh...
  8. Because jagex math 32+3.2=35.2 round down to the second nearest whole number and tada 34! Yeah, and let's just look past the point that it's still worse than dragonrider amulet and likely can't be upgraded with a blood shard. I like that they added xp bonuses to clues, but the rewards atleast seem otherwise lackluster. But meh, maybe it's just me having completed all the clues i ever needed to in 04.
  9. I've been told that every player is limited to unlocking 1 recipe per floor, so that's really no use(unless you want to be bad, ofcource). Otherwise you'd just dg with 4 nubs and get 5 recipes yourself. I got a solo yak card today although i've unlocked all recipes. Will be trying to give the effect to my brother, though, and see if that works. Edit: tested it. If you have all recipes unlocked the card no longer spawns recipes for you, so the effect can't be transfered.
  10. Why would that be a glitch? If the normal yield with no boosts is 1-8, that's a totally acceptable outcome. Then again, you can also get over 15 from one, too.
  11. You guys are seriously overestimating the amount of xp needed for the current meilyr title. Ofcource, if you want to be stupid and not use any boosts it's your own choice, but assuming you do use all boosts(perfect juju, vos etc), the challenge takes around 40 pillars (8m xp), which isn't little but not overly ridiculous, either. Also, this only requires 75 farming(as opposed to 90 slayer or 89 mining, for example).
  12. If the blood necklace shard was usable on the amulet of souls and the effect worked everywhere(namely bosses, ofc), i could see the edimmu task being worthwhile as the shard would have cost enough(would basically have been a task similar to kril/dks). But yeah, since the shard is mediocre, the task is just not worth it. Also managed to get my recipes done today, getting consistent yak effect from a bunyip card. The whole req took around 6 hours of dg (got 5 from actual dging).
  13. Both recipes and implings are common from the maw. The maw will always give you the lowest impling you've yet to catch. So yeah, assuming you are slowly doing moss anyway, there is no particular need to rush those things. I got my last impling (crystal) from the maw today, for example.
  14. I was also thinking of ways the released content could be re-balanced, because, lets be honest, the content itself is mostly great, just the balancing has gone wrong on so many things... So yeah, my list: Add cleansing crystals as a ~1/200 reward from thieving all of the elf clans. This would fix both thieving and prayer methods(think extra 800k-1m for thieving and 8-10 gp/xp prayer), as people would actually have a real market for these things. Possibly add the crystals from other sources also (drops from shadows, elves and edimmu). Edimmu definitely need rebalancing. atleast a 50% improvement to slayer and combat xp plus enhancement of the drop table should be in order. Shadow creatures need rebalancing. I'm totally OK with their strength and the slayer xp, but their drops, inducing the cores are just awful. Cores should be made 1/3 or 1/2 drop (which would equate to 50 or 75k div xp an hour, respectively) and they should definitely receive other worthwhile drops. The harps. Maxed players should be able to get atleast 1k dust an hour (currently around 700). Harmony pillars are extremely unbalanced. They should give ALOT more farming xp, perhaps as much as 10-20k depending on yield. Possibly add other effects/rewards to harvesting for example spawn crystal implings during vos. As of right now, most of the content they've just released is basically useless/redundant because of balancing issues, the exception being both agility methods where, surprisingly, they did a very good job balancing wise.
  15. This thread brings back memories of the start of rs2... Nature was also the highest(and most coveted) talisman back then.
  16. Actually there are 4 alternative ways (in addition to max guid) of obtaining one: Crystal impling- this is the most common, if you buy the jars. But it's still likely worse than 1/100 chance. Hefin agility- Likely extremely rare, up to 1/10k chance (~100 laps an hour). Pickpocketing- Can be gotten by pickpocketing any of the elf workers in prif, although at extremely low rate(likely 1/100k~ 15M xp, 2k thieves an hour). Slayer- killing cadarn and iowerth elves. This is also extremely low chance(worse than 1/10k, ~400 kills an hour). Overall, unless you have money to spend or are doing any of the other 3 activities anyway, it's not worth hunting for one.
  17. Perfect plus is not an overload. As simple as that. And i mean, there is no great comparison to elf city comp requirements, really. The only other huge update that has been released since comp was divination, and you did have to level it to 99. In a similar manner, instead of having to get level 99 invention, you have to get level 99 elf city, which, to me, is fair enough. There really isn't anything you really have to grind hard in the elf city, definitely nothing as bad as livid. I'll probably never end up getting comp because of livid (and because i'd have to keep meeting new reqs), but these requirements will be easy enough for me. Gwyn, that's about 1-1.5 hours per recipe then, about the same i've gotten (got 7 now).
  18. I have got 3 from maw (as i already said. If you get one on the first try you can go again since no item is given) and 3 from dungeons doing around 3 hours of solo meds. I'm probably on the lucky side, but this does by no means look like an extremely grindy thing to do. And yeah, consistent yak...
  19. So yeah.... All RNG based? try none RNG based. Getting all potion recipes is the most RNG based and can easily gotten with normal gameplay, even if you don't consider the maw (i've got 3 recipes from the maw) or consistent yak, which make is extremely easy to get. Implings were a given and everyone knew about it for a long time. It's your fault for trying to do this during rush-hour. All-in-all, for people that will comp in the future, these new requirements won't really make the cape any harder to get. It's just the old compers who are whining because their candy was taken away.
  20. In some edge cases even though the potions are more expensive you need to use fewer doses which saves you money, because the supreme overloads have a 6 minute timer. The main example which comes to mind is mage araxxor path 1. For those that don't know, the mage spider applies a debuff which drains overloads more quickly. What this means is that even though my kills on path 1 are typically around 8:30, I usually have to take a third sip of overload. Then, the rest of that potion is wasted while banking. With the supreme pots it's doable to do a kill, even with poor RNG, in 2 doses of supreme ovl. Another good example is nex duos. I haven't duoed nex in a long time, but the last time I did, my kills usually were just a bit over 1 overload dose long. All overloads are now 6 minutes. As for the comp drama, if it's too much of a hassle to get it and you don't enjoy the process, then why even try? Isn't that what the maw is for, also? Nobody is forcing you to do 200 laps of agility in 3 hours but yourself. There is no signed agreement as to what defines a normal comp and trimmed comp cape, anyway. Alot of the requirements bestowed upon by this batch can be gotten leisurely over time, which, to me, is a good thing. The same also applied to batch one req's where i managed to complete them with normal gameplay.
  21. The most enjoyable part of this update for me has been all the ex-comps (not to be confused with ex-cons, obviously) complaining about all the new requirements. Meanwhile, i've been able to acquire many of those reqs just trough normal gameplay, just doing what i enjoy doing in scape. At 5 recipes right now, including both level 99 pots unlocked. Only thing i haven't really liked about the update is the level 95 recourse dungeon as the divine locations are on the same limit as normal(although they talked about them not being).
  22. 115 dg and a task. They are a bad slayer task(~130-140k slayer xp) and the drops aren't great. Can be dangerous if you have alot of them piling you. Mighty edimmu is quite deadly if not handled correctly and has 96k lp, but drops normal stuff(apart from the rare chance of pet drop). Overall, not a good task.
  23. Isn't most everything t90 100% accuracy and t80 100% accuracy at most places as well? T80 with T85 capabilities at 99 agil sounds about right. T90 isn't super expensive anymore.
  24. As far as i know, that is what they discussed for it. I'm guessing you'll just need the 3 upgraded saradomin necklaces plus a rare drop component from edimmu to make it.
  25. Sign of life can be gotten with 75(divine sim I) or 76 div (make yourself) which isn't particularly hard to accomplish and would make most bosses alot easier to do, including nomad(who is a pushover, obviously). In any case, really impressed with the achievements, particularly with how far you've gotten with quests. Guessing the 90 thieving was to unlock port so you are doing pretty well...
